How to claim missing Delta SkyMiles

Log in and use Delta's Request Mileage Credit form, which has separate options for Delta flights, Delta and partner flights, and other SkyMiles partners.

The SkyMiles program rules give members until 9 months after the flight date to request missing miles and MQDs.

Flights taken before you joined

  • Not confirmed. The SkyMiles program rules and support page we read do not say whether flights taken before enrolling can be credited. They set only the 9-month limit from the flight date and say a member needs to provide the SkyMiles number at booking or check-in for each flight.

Rules that decide a claim

  • Both the name and date of birth on the reservation must match the name and date of birth on the SkyMiles account and the member traveling, regardless of who paid for the ticket.
  • Delta flights, airline partner flights, hotel stays and car rentals earn credit in only one loyalty program per itinerary and cannot be transferred from one program to another once recorded.
  • Trying to get SkyMiles credit for travel already credited in another mileage or loyalty program is prohibited.
  • Miles are not credited for Delta Main Basic (Basic Economy) tickets, refunded, void or unused tickets, free tickets of any kind, or bookings made through some internet sites, including priceline.com and Hotwire.com.
  • A member needs to provide the SkyMiles number at the time of booking or check-in for each flight.
