KrisFlyer is the loyalty program of Singapore Airlines, a Star Alliance member consistently ranked among the best airlines in the world, with its hub at Singapore Changi. KrisFlyer miles book Singapore Airlines, its low-cost subsidiary Scoot, Star Alliance partners and a handful of others such as Virgin Australia and Alaska Airlines.
KrisFlyer is one of the few programs to which all four major US bank currencies transfer, and Singapore Airlines reserves most premium cabin award space on its own flights for KrisFlyer members. That combination makes it the go-to program for anyone hoping to fly Singapore Suites, First or Business.

What to watch out for
- KrisFlyer miles expire three years after they are earned, on the last day of that month, regardless of account activity, so older miles vanish even from active accounts. Basic members can extend a batch by six months and elite members by twelve, for a fee; PPS Club miles do not expire.
- Singapore Airlines adds carrier surcharges on its own awards, Advantage-tier awards cost far more than Saver, and Saver prices to Europe and the US rose by about 5 percent on November 1, 2025.
- Premium award space is contested; waitlisting is possible but not guaranteed.

Should you sell your Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles?
Keep your miles if you have a Singapore Airlines premium cabin trip in mind; a Suites or First Class award can be worth many times any cash offer.
Consider selling miles that are approaching their 36-month expiry, or a balance transferred from a credit card with no trip planned. Because expiry is fixed from the earn date, waiting does not improve your options.
