About ANA Mileage Club miles
ANA Mileage Club is the program of All Nippon Airways, Japan's Star Alliance member, and prices awards on ANA and its partners from published zone charts, with one-way awards added in June 2025. From the US it is fed mainly by American Express Membership Rewards and Marriott Bonvoy, and its miles expire 36 months after they are earned.

- ANA miles are valid until the end of the 36th month counting from the month the flight or service was used, and account activity does not extend them. Miles do not expire while a member holds Diamond status, and never expire for Million Milers (1,000,000 lifetime miles on ANA Group flights). Campaign miles (account groups 2 to 4) have their own campaign-specific validity. Source

The ANA Mileage Club program explained
ANA Mileage Club is the loyalty program of All Nippon Airways, the Japanese member of Star Alliance. Its miles book ANA's international flights from a round-trip zone chart with Low, Regular and High seasons, ANA's Japan domestic network from a distance chart, and flights on United, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, Air Canada and the other Star Alliance carriers, plus partners such as Etihad, Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Australia, from a separate partner chart.
ANA rebuilt its award rules with a system renewal on June 24, 2025. One-way awards became available at half the round-trip price, but High-season prices rose in every cabin, business and first class to Asia and Oceania rose in every season, connections in Japan were cut to one each way, and the Star Alliance Round the World award was withdrawn. For US members the program is fed mainly by American Express Membership Rewards, which ANA says converts at 1:1 from US-issued cards, and by Marriott Bonvoy at 3:1.

How members earn ANA Mileage Club miles
- Flying ANA: sector mileage times a booking-class rate, from 150% in first and J business to 30% in L and K economy. O, I, R and X fares and award tickets earn nothing.
- Star Alliance and other partner flights, credited by ticketed distance and a fare-type rate set for each airline. ANA ends accrual on Asiana flights on October 15, 2026.
- Transfers from American Express Membership Rewards (US-issued cards) at 1:1 in 1,000-point units, according to ANA, and from Marriott Bonvoy at 3:1.
- ANA Card and ANA Pay in Japan, and a two-way points exchange with IHG One Rewards launching after October 2026.
Best ways to use ANA Mileage Club miles
- ANA business class between Japan and North America at 100,000 miles round trip in Low season or 105,000 in Regular, and half that one way.
- ANA first class between Japan and North America from 150,000 miles round trip in Low season and 170,000 in Regular.
- Star Alliance business class between North America and Europe at 100,000 miles round trip or 50,000 one way, and within North America at 55,000 round trip.
- Japan domestic flights from 6,000 miles one way, such as Tokyo to Osaka in Low season.
What to watch out for
- Miles expire at the end of the 36th month after the month they are earned, regardless of activity, unless you hold Diamond status or are a Million Miler (1,000,000 lifetime miles on ANA Group flights); campaign miles can lapse sooner.
- ANA adds fuel surcharges to award tickets: ¥55,000 per sector between Japan and North America or Europe for tickets issued in September and October 2026.
- High season is now expensive: business class between Japan and North America is 165,000 miles round trip and first class 300,000 since the June 2025 revision.
- After ticketing, an award on ANA's own flights can only move to another flight on the same segment and date; a new date means cancelling for 3,000 miles or 3,000 yen and rebooking.
- Awards can be issued only for the member and up to 10 registered award users, and miles can be combined only through ANA's family services (the Mileage Club Family Account Service or ANA Card Family Miles).

Status is earned with Premium Points between January and December: 30,000 for Bronze, 50,000 for Platinum and 100,000 for Diamond, half of each from ANA Group flights, and it runs for a year from April 1. Platinum and Diamond members, and Million Milers, can apply for the Super Flyers Card, a credit card for people who live in Japan or have a Japanese address and hold a Japanese bank account; its status continues for as long as the annual fee is paid.
Should you sell your ANA Mileage Club miles?
Keep your miles if you travel to Japan or can plan a Star Alliance partner trip within three years. Low and Regular season business class on ANA, and partner business class between North America and Europe, are where the miles return the most.
Consider selling miles that are approaching their 36-month expiry, or a balance you no longer expect to use on ANA or its partners. Because expiry is fixed from the month the miles were earned, activity does not extend them and waiting does not improve your options.

Award chart. ANA Mileage Club publishes all of its charts. Awards on ANA's own international flights are priced by zone pair and season (Low, Regular and High), and ANA prints them as round-trip amounts; since June 24, 2025 a one-way award is available at half the round-trip price for its season, from 6,000 miles. Partner airline awards use a separate ten-zone chart with one price per cabin and no seasons, from 7,500 miles one way, and Japan domestic awards are priced one way by sector distance and season.
