The Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles program explained
Miles&Smiles is the loyalty program of Turkish Airlines, a Star Alliance member that flies to more countries than any other airline from its hub in Istanbul. Miles can be redeemed on Turkish Airlines and on United, Lufthansa, ANA, Singapore Airlines, Air Canada and the other Star Alliance carriers.
The program became popular with US points enthusiasts because of its published partner award chart, which once priced United domestic awards at 7,500 miles one way. Those prices were raised in February 2024 and again on December 3, 2025, and the chart is now closer to what other Star Alliance programs charge. Capital One, Citi ThankYou Points, Bilt and Marriott Bonvoy transfer in. The catch is that booking partner awards often requires phone calls, emails or a visit to a ticket office, and reliability is inconsistent.
