Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles award chart and sweet spots
Miles&Smiles publishes fixed region-based tables for Turkish Airlines flights, with a cheaper "promotional" price when it is available and a "standard" price otherwise, and a separate Star Alliance partner table. All prices are one way and capacity controlled.
The partner table is priced by region pair, not distance, so a domestic flight anywhere in the US on United costs the same 15,000 miles in economy, and Türkiye is priced as its own region.

"Europe 1" is western and central Europe; Turkish flights show the promotional price first and the standard price second. The partner table is a from/to matrix, and the row for flights from Türkiye is priced far below the same regions paired with each other, so where you start matters.

United domestic business class
22,500 miles
Any domestic route in the US, including transcontinental, one way; economy is 15,000. Raised from 15,000 and 10,000 in December 2025 but still competitive on long domestic routes.
Business class between North America and Türkiye
65,000 miles
Promotional price on Turkish's own flights one way, and the same figure on the Star Alliance partner table; the standard price on Turkish is 135,000.
Business class between Türkiye and Europe
20,000 miles
Promotional price on Turkish or any Star Alliance partner one way, one of the cheapest business class awards anywhere; economy is 10,000.
Business class between Türkiye and the Far East
65,000 miles
Promotional price one way on Turkish's long routes to Japan, Southeast Asia and Australia via Istanbul.
Fees and surcharges
- Taxes, fees and any carrier surcharges are paid separately; Turkish adds a fuel surcharge on its own long-haul flights.
- Change fee USD 70 on international awards (TRY 450 domestic); refund fee USD 70, rising to USD 170 after a no-show.
- Award tickets are valid for one year from issue.
Routing and stopover rules
- One-way awards on Turkish and all Star Alliance partners; a Star Alliance award may mix carriers within one region pair.
- One stopover is allowed on a round-trip award on Turkish's own flights, none on one-ways; one open jaw is allowed.
- Partner awards are bookable online for most carriers; some require a call or an email to the service centre.
Recent and upcoming changes
- December 3, 2025: US domestic Star Alliance awards rose from 10,000 to 15,000 miles in economy and 15,000 to 22,500 in business; Hawaii rose from 10,000 and 15,000 to 25,000 and 40,000.
- August 31, 2024: SAS left Star Alliance and can no longer be booked with Miles&Smiles.
- The Star Alliance table on turkishairlines.com now prices North America to Europe 1 at 50,000 economy and 85,000 business one way, far above the 30,000 and 45,000 quoted by points blogs in earlier years; treat older guides as out of date.
