  2. Open the Miles Transactions section and choose to purchase Miles.
  3. Pick the number of Miles, from a minimum of 1,000, and pay.

  • Up to 250,000 Miles per calendar year.

Rules to know before you buy

  • Purchased Miles, and the amount paid, are non-refundable.
  • Purchased Miles are not Status Miles, so they don't count toward Classic Plus, Elite or Elite Plus.

Buying miles for someone else, and transfers

Gifting miles

  • Gift Miles cost the same US$30 per 1,000 including VAT, from 1,000 Miles per transaction. The giver pays and the Miles go straight to the recipient; the giver's own Miles aren't used.
  • A member can receive at most 250,000 Gift Miles a calendar year from one or more members. Gift Miles are not Status Miles and are non-refundable.

Transferring between members

  • Moving Miles you already have to another member costs US$20 per 1,000 Miles including VAT, with no minimum or maximum and any number of recipients.
  • Transferred Miles stay valid for three calendar years from the transfer date. Status Miles can't be transferred, and High Five Kids Club members aren't eligible.

Buy Status Miles

US$70 including VAT per 1,000 Status Miles, in blocks of 1,000 and up to 10,000 within 12 months of the first purchase, only when you are 5,000 or 10,000 Status Miles short of reaching or keeping a tier.
