New members can claim Emirates, flydubai and Qantas flights flown up to two months before registering, as long as they claim within six months of registration. The most common reason Miles go missing is a name on the booking that does not match the Skywards profile.

Claim from: Emirates says to allow 48 hours for an Emirates or flydubai flight to appear in your account.

What to have ready

Booking reference and ticket number for an Emirates flight.
For a partner airline: the booking name, flight date, flight code, class of travel, origin, destination and ticket number.
For hotel, car rental or retail partners: a copy of the original invoices.
The programme rules let Emirates ask for any other information, including the flight details on the boarding passes, transaction documents and receipts, so keep them.

Flights taken before you joined

The Emirates FAQ says new members can claim Miles for Emirates, flydubai and Qantas flights flown up to two months prior to registering with Emirates Skywards.
Programme rule 7.3 says qualifying flights taken no more than two months before account registration earn Miles, subject to the member claiming them within six months of the account registration date.

Rules that decide a claim

The name on the reservation must match your Skywards profile, and the rules require your name in English as it appears on your passport (rule 2.3).
You must give your membership number, digital card or linked account at reservation or check-in (rule 7.4); a missing or misquoted number is one of the reasons Emirates lists for missing Miles.
Miles can only be earned in one loyalty program for each flight or transaction unless Emirates or the partner says otherwise (rule 7.15).
Staff, industry and agent discounted (ID/AD), Reward, prize and promotional, consultant, government and diplomatic, free, charter and non-public discounted tickets, denied-boarding tickets and reward tickets from other loyalty programs do not earn Miles (rule 7.13).
Miles post only after each direction is flown, so a return trip that is only half complete will show only the flown sector.
Rule 2.12 asks members to report anything they believe is inaccurate on their statement no later than 90 calendar days after the activity.

Fees

Emirates Skywards lists no fee for a missing Miles request.

If Emirates Skywards refuses a claim
