How to claim missing Virgin Australia Velocity points
Wait 14 days after the flight, then fill in the claim form on Velocity's missing Points page with the flight number and departure date from your e-ticket or boarding pass. Velocity's terms (effective 17 August 2026) require the enquiry no later than 180 days from the flight for Virgin Australia and airline partners.
You can earn with only one loyalty program per booking: if the flight already earned with another program, Velocity will not process a retrospective claim for it, even if the other program reverses its miles.

- For a flight taken before you joined: your Velocity membership number and a copy of your electronic ticket and boarding pass.
Flights taken before you joined
- Velocity says you can claim Points for travel completed on Virgin Australia and its airline partners up to 30 days prior to joining Velocity Frequent Flyer.

Rules that decide a claim
- Your name and Velocity number in the itinerary must exactly match your Velocity account, or you may miss out on Points (terms clause 3.1).
- You earn with only one loyalty program per booking. If the booking earned with another program, Velocity will not process a retrospective claim for it, regardless of whether the other program reverses its points (terms clause 2.3).
- Reward Seat tickets (including partner reward tickets), complimentary tickets, most packaged holiday tickets, infant fares without a paid seat, travel industry negotiated or private fares, competition prize tickets and tickets bought at auction do not earn Points (terms clause 3.1).
- Airline partner claims require that you were a Velocity member at the time of travel, apart from the 30-day rule for new members.
Fees
- Velocity lists no fee for a missing Points claim made on its website. Its terms (clause 11.1) say a fee applies to certain features used through the Membership Contact Centre instead of the website.
If Virgin Australia Velocity refuses a claim
- Velocity may not be able to help with an enquiry made after the time limits in clause 3.3, so claim well within 180 days.
- A flight that earned with another airline program cannot be claimed with Velocity afterwards (terms clause 2.3).
- For questions or a complaint, contact the Membership Contact Centre or submit a question or complaint online (terms clause 1.5).
