How to buy Virgin Australia Velocity points

  2. Choose how many points to buy, from 1,000 up to what is left of your 250,000 yearly limit.
  3. Pay with any major debit or credit card. The price is in Australian dollars, includes GST, and the transaction is processed outside Australia.
  4. The points reach your Velocity account within 72 hours of payment.

  • Up to 250,000 points per calendar year.
  • You need a balance of at least 1 point to buy.

Rules to know before you buy

  • Bought points are non-refundable, unless the Australian Consumer Law gives you a refund.
  • You don't earn Velocity Points on the points you buy, though a Velocity earning credit card may earn points on the payment.
  • Buying points counts as a Long Term Activity, which pushes your points expiry date to 24 months after the purchase, rounded to the end of the month.

Transferring between members

  • You can transfer points to an eligible family member who is also a Velocity member, up to four times per membership year.
