Air France-KLM Flying Blue award chart and sweet spots
Flying Blue has had no award chart since 2018. Air France and KLM flights are priced dynamically from a "starting at" level per route, and since September 8, 2026 every award is sold in three fare types: Light (no changes), Standard and Flex. Partner flights on SkyTeam and other carriers have their own pricing, generally higher and less flexible.
Two features keep it valuable: monthly Promo Rewards that take 25 percent or more off selected routes, and starting prices to Europe from the US that are among the lowest of any program. Carrier surcharges are charged in cash on Air France and KLM.

Sweet spots
Promo Rewards business class to Europe
from 45,000 miles
One way from the US on the monthly promotion, refreshed at the start of each month; economy promos drop to about 18,750.
Economy to Europe at the regular starting price
from 25,000 miles
The Light fare from the US, cheaper than most US programs charge for economy to Europe, and Chase, Amex, Citi, Capital One and Bilt all transfer 1:1.
Intra-Europe short hops
from 7,500 miles
One way in economy on Air France, KLM or Transavia, with taxes of a few euros.
Premium economy to Europe
from 40,000 miles
One of the few programs that prices premium economy well below business class.
Fees and surcharges
- Carrier-imposed surcharges apply on Air France and KLM and are paid in cash; business class to Europe runs roughly $600 each way.
- Light awards cannot be changed or refunded; Standard awards change for €70; Flex awards change and cancel free.
- Miles expire after two years without earning activity; any earn, including a card transfer, resets the clock. Explorer members can also keep miles alive with a co-brand card.
Routing and stopover rules
- One-way awards with no round-trip requirement; partners can be mixed on one ticket.
- No stopovers on award tickets; a connection in Paris or Amsterdam of under 24 hours is allowed.
- Award availability on Air France and KLM is not capacity-controlled in the traditional sense: any seat can be bought for miles at the dynamic price.
