Lufthansa Miles & More award chart and sweet spots
Miles & More moved Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian and Lufthansa City Airlines to "flexible" (dynamic) award pricing on June 3, 2025, with Discover and Air Dolomiti following in March 2026. A static round-trip chart still applies to Star Alliance and other partner flights, priced by region pair and cabin.
Surcharges are the catch: Miles & More passes on carrier-imposed charges on Lufthansa Group and most partner flights, so a transatlantic business award can cost several hundred euros on top of the miles. Monthly Mileage Bargains sell selected Lufthansa Group routes from 12,000 miles round trip.

Partner prices from the 2025 flight awards PDF, a round-trip matrix read from its text rather than the rendered grid; premium economy and first class rows apply only on Lufthansa Group carriers, and one-way partner awards are half. Lufthansa Group flights no longer have published prices. Miles & More has no credit card transfer partners in the US, so these prices only matter to members who earn miles directly.

Intra-Europe business on partners

The partner chart stays fixed while Lufthansa Group intra-Europe awards float.
Fees and surcharges
- Carrier surcharges and taxes are charged in full on Lufthansa Group and most partner awards; they are typically the largest cash cost of any Star Alliance program.
- Rebooking fee EUR 50; cancellation at least EUR 50 with miles redeposited; awards are valid for one year.
- Award miles expire after 36 months unless the member holds a Lufthansa co-brand card or elite status.
Routing and stopover rules
- Partner awards are priced as round trips from the chart with one-ways at half; one stopover and one open jaw are allowed on round trips.
- Lufthansa Group awards are priced per flight and can be one way.
- Mixed Lufthansa Group and partner itineraries are priced by the flexible model.

- Does Miles & More have an award chart?
- Only for partners. Since June 2025 Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian flights are priced flexibly with no chart, while Star Alliance and other partner flights follow a fixed round-trip chart, for example 125,000 miles for business class between Europe and North America.
- Can I transfer credit card points to Miles & More?
- Not from any major US bank. Miles & More has no transfer partnership with Chase, Amex, Citi, Capital One or Bilt; miles come from flying, co-brand cards and Lufthansa Group partners.
- Why book Lufthansa with Miles & More rather than a partner?
- First class. Lufthansa releases first class award seats to Miles & More members about two weeks before departure and to partner programs only inside the last days, if at all. For business class, Aeroplan or United usually cost fewer miles and add no surcharges.
