How to earn Etihad Guest miles

Etihad flights earn distance times a booking-class percentage: First 275%; business J 200%, C and D 175%, W, Z and P 130%; economy Y and B 100%, Q, M, K and H 75%, E, U, V, L and G 50%, from the miles calculator. Tickets bought before 21 July 2025 in Comfort fares keep the older 200% and 300% rates.

Partner flights earn from each partner's table, for example American First 250% and main economy 100%. Cash-and-miles tickets earn on the cash part only, and Saver award seats earn nothing.

    American lists Etihad among its non-alliance partners with a fare-class chart on aa.com.

  • Other programs

    Etihad's site does not say which other programs credit Etihad flights, so check the other program's own partner page before booking.

Which program should I select for Etihad flights?

Etihad Guest is the default: with few programs confirmed to credit Etihad flights, most travellers earn here. A Y fare earns 100% of distance and business 175% to 200%, competitive with any partner.

Americans who prefer one balance can credit to AAdvantage, which lists Etihad as a partner and pays by fare class. The AA chart for Etihad loads only with JavaScript, so check it.

Claiming miles after the flight

Claim window: Not stated for Etihad flights.

  • Submit boarding passes through the Etihad Guest feedback form; Etihad does not publish a claim deadline for its own flights.
  • Flights taken up to three months before joining can be claimed.
  • Partner transactions such as hotels and cars must be claimed with the partner within six months.

Ways to earn miles without flying

Miles on the Go

Link up to five Visa cards in the app and earn 1 Mile and 1 Tier Mile per AED 3 spent on purchases of AED 50 or more at partners such as Ferrari World, LEGOLAND Dubai, Yas Mall and Fairmont Bab al Bahr, from the Miles on the Go page.

Hotels, cars and cards

Hotel and car bookings and co-brand credit cards, from the earn miles hub.

Delivery apps

A 2021 talabat tie-up paid 1 mile per AED 3 through a linked Visa, but talabat is not on the current Miles on the Go list, so treat it as ended. No Uber or Careem earning is listed.

Buy miles and transfers

Up to 200,000 miles a year, or 300,000 for Platinum; the price shows after login. Bank points also transfer in through the transfer page.

Capital One (1:1), Citi (1:1), Bilt (1:1), Marriott (3:1) transfer into Etihad Guest. See the transfer partner matrix and how transfers work.

Booking awards with the miles
