What to have ready

  • Your Cathay membership number, which must have been quoted at booking and given at check-in.
  • Flight details for the missing trip.
  • For some partner airlines, scanned copies of your boarding passes and tickets.
  • For non-flight partners, original receipts may be required.
  • Copies of everything you send, because Cathay retains submitted documents for record-keeping and does not return them.

Flights taken before you joined

  • Cathay's FAQ says newly enrolled members can only claim for flights taken within 30 days prior to their enrolment date.
  • The terms add that Asia Miles accrued will only be honoured subject to acceptance of the application to join the Cathay membership programme.

Rules that decide a claim

  • Requests for missing Asia Miles are considered only if the membership number was properly quoted at reservation and given at check-in, when paying the bill or on delivery of the partner service.
  • For Status Points, the name given must exactly match the name registered with the Cathay membership programme; for Asia Miles, the name must match where the partner requires one.
  • Certain fares and flights do not earn Asia Miles, including staff travel, industry or agency discounts, award travel, prize, donation, group and other special discounted tickets, free tickets, chartered flights and certain codeshare flights.
  • Status Points are not earned on tickets redeemed with Asia Miles or other frequent flyer points, or on flights that also earn another airline's frequent flyer points.
  • Cathay may adjust or cancel Asia Miles credited to an account incorrectly, at any time and without notice.

Fees

  • Cathay lists no fee for a missing Asia Miles or Status Points request.

If Cathay Pacific Asia Miles refuses a claim

  • The terms let Cathay reject a claim made without the required supporting documents, or where it believes the documents were not issued by the partner, so resubmit with the documents the partner requires.
  • The pages read for this guide do not describe an appeal route or whether a flight credited to another programme can be moved to Cathay; that is Not confirmed.
