What to have ready

  • Flight details from your e-ticket or boarding pass.
  • Qantas and its partners may ask for proof such as copies of ticket coupons, original boarding passes, receipts, a car rental agreement, hotel voucher or hotel bill (terms clause 7.4), so keep them until the points post.

Flights taken before you joined

  • Terms clause 9.1.2 says a member may earn Qantas Points only on eligible flights flown after the joining date and up to 30 days prior to that date.
  • The claim page applies this to eligible Qantas, Jetstar, oneworld member and oneworld connect airlines only.

Rules that decide a claim

  • The name on your account must match your name as shown on your passport (terms clause 5.3), and you must quote your name and membership number when booking (clause 9.1.1).
  • Members who earn points in another airline loyalty program do not receive Qantas Points for the same flight unless otherwise specified (clause 9.1.4).
  • Points are credited only to the account of the member who flew or bought the service (clause 9.1.2).
  • Flight Rewards and flights or booking classes not listed in the Airline Earning Tables earn no points (clause 9.4.2), and some fare types and booking classes do not earn Qantas Points.

Fees

  • Qantas Frequent Flyer lists no fee for a missing points claim.

If Qantas Frequent Flyer refuses a claim

  • Qantas can ask for proof of the flight, such as ticket coupons or original boarding passes (clause 7.4), so supply them if a claim is not approved.
  • Because points are not given for a flight that earned in another airline program (clause 9.1.4), a flight credited elsewhere cannot simply be claimed with Qantas. The pages read do not describe a way to move it.
  • The pages read for this guide do not describe an appeal route for a declined claim; that is Not confirmed.
