Joining and managing your account
Signing up, membership numbers, logins, profiles and closing an account.
How do I join Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Join online at qantas.com/frequent-flyer/join (the "Get started" form) and you get a membership number straight away. Qantas notes a joining fee may apply; partners such as TripADeal and the Family Transfer page link to their own join codes under qantas.com/frequent-flyer/join/code/, which is the usual way to avoid it.
Does it cost anything to join Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Qantas says a joining fee "may apply" depending on where and how you join. If you do pay one, clause 5.5 of the terms lets you cancel within two weeks of receiving your membership number and have the joining fee refunded.
Is there a minimum age to join Qantas Frequent Flyer, and can children have their own account?
There is no minimum age, but members under 18 need parental or guardian consent to join (clause 5.2), and a member under 15 cannot make a Flight Reward reservation on their own (clause 13.2.5). Membership is open only to individuals, not families, groups, companies or trusts (clause 5.1).
Where do I find my Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number?
On your digital membership card: the card in the Qantas App, which you can also add to Apple Wallet or Google Pay, shows your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number and its barcode.
Does Qantas Frequent Flyer issue a physical membership card, and do I need one?
Qantas issues a membership card, but it remains Qantas property and only the member can use the card, membership number and PIN (clauses 6.2 and 6.3). A Replacement Card Fee applies if you ask for a new one, waived for a name change (marriage, divorce or deed poll), a faulty magnetic strip, theft with a police report, or a card lost in the mail within two months of issue (clause 6.7). In practice your membership number, surname and PIN are what identify you (clause 5.4), not the plastic.
Does Qantas have an app for managing Qantas Frequent Flyer, and what can it do?
Yes. The Qantas App tracks your Frequent Flyer status and points activity, lets you search and book flights, make Classic Upgrade Reward requests (including domestic On Departure upgrades within three hours of departure), check in and hold your boarding pass, track bags on Qantas-operated flights, self-manage disruptions and follow support case status.

How do I change the name on my Qantas Frequent Flyer account after marriage or a legal name change?
Send Qantas written proof of the new name: clause 5.7 requires written proof for any change of name. If you also want a card in the new name, the Replacement Card Fee is waived for a change of name due to marriage, divorce or deed poll, as long as the relevant documentation is supplied (clause 6.7(a)).
I accidentally created two Qantas Frequent Flyer accounts. Can they be merged?
The terms allow only one Membership Account per member (clause 5.3), and the terms do not describe a self-service merge, so call the Frequent Flyer Service Centre (13 11 31 in Australia, +61 2 9433 2329 elsewhere) to have the duplicate dealt with before the points in it lapse.
How do I close my Qantas Frequent Flyer account, and what happens to my points?
Write to the Frequent Flyer Service Centre giving notice that you want to cancel (clause 5.9). Be careful: on receipt of the written notice all Qantas Points in the account expire immediately, so redeem or family-transfer them first.
Can I join Qantas Frequent Flyer if I live outside the airline's home country?
Yes. Membership is open to individuals worldwide; Qantas uses your mailing address to decide which benefits and partner offers you are eligible for (clause 5.6), and some products such as Qantas Pay are limited to members with an Australian residential address. Members outside Australia and New Zealand are notified of program changes via the Qantas website rather than by email (clause 3.3).
How do I update my email, address or phone number with Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Log in to My Account and open Profile to update your contact details yourself; the Frequent Flyer Service Centre (13 11 31, 7am to 7pm AET Monday to Saturday) can also do it by phone.
What do I do if I am locked out of my Qantas Frequent Flyer account?
Qantas tells locked-out members to call the Frequent Flyer Service Centre straight away (+61 2 9433 2329 worldwide, or email frequent_flyer@qantas.com.au). Once back in, set up two-step verification, a passkey or security questions under Profile, Personal Information so a forgotten PIN does not lock you out again.

If I join Qantas Frequent Flyer after a flight, can I still claim points for it?
Yes, if you flew within the 30 days before joining: Qantas Points are earned on eligible Qantas, Jetstar, oneworld and oneworld connect flights flown after your joining date and up to 30 days prior to it. Join, then lodge a missing points claim in My Account for that flight; anything flown earlier cannot be credited.

Does Qantas have a separate program for small businesses, and can I earn in both?
Yes. Qantas Business Rewards is the separate program for businesses, and a company's flights earn Qantas Points into its Business Rewards account while the traveller still earns their own Qantas Points and Status Credits in Qantas Frequent Flyer (clause 9.8.2). A business with at least 3,000 points can transfer them in real time to any Qantas Frequent Flyer account, though such transfers do not count as activity for points expiry.

Earning on Qantas flights
What a ticket earns, which fares are excluded, elite bonuses and posting times.
How are points calculated on Qantas flights: by fare paid, by distance, or by a fixed amount?
Neither fare paid nor pure distance: Qantas pays a fixed number of Qantas Points and Status Credits per flight segment set by a distance band and your fare category (Discount Economy, Economy, Flexible Economy, Premium Economy, Business, Flexible Business, First). A Minimum Points Guarantee of 800 points per segment applies (400 on Jetstar domestic New Zealand Discount Economy), and Status Bonus for Silver and above is added on top.
How many points do I earn per dollar (or per mile flown) on Qantas?
There is no per-dollar rate on flights; earning is per segment by distance band and fare category. As of 2026 a domestic segment under 750 miles (Sydney-Melbourne) earns 500 Qantas Points and 10 Status Credits in Discount Economy, 750 and 20 in Flexible Economy, 1,750 and 40 in Business; an international segment over 6,500 miles (Sydney-London) earns 4,000 points and 40 Status Credits in Discount Economy and 13,000 points and 170 Status Credits in Business.
Do basic economy or light fares on Qantas earn points?
Yes. Qantas has no non-earning fare: Red e-Deal and other Discount Economy classes (E, G, L, M, N, O, Q, S, V domestically; E, N, O, Q internationally) earn Qantas Points and Status Credits at the Discount Economy rate. On Jetstar, Status Credits are not earned on Economy Starter fares; the Starter Plus, Flex, Max and Business Max bundles earn points and Status Credits at their category rate.
What elite bonus do status members earn on Qantas flights?
Silver earns a 50% Status Bonus, Gold 75%, and Platinum and Platinum One 100% more Qantas Points on Qantas, Jetstar and American Airlines flights. The bonus applies to points only, not to Status Credits.
Source: Qantas: compare status tiers
How long after a flight do points post to my Qantas Frequent Flyer account?
Qantas flights usually post within 24 hours of the flight and partner airline flights within 14 days. If nothing has appeared after 14 days, lodge a claim in My Account; you have 12 months from the flight (6 months for Qatar Airways).
Source: Qantas: claim missing points
Do award tickets earn points or status credit on Qantas?
No. Flight Rewards (Classic Flight Rewards) are listed among the tickets that earn neither Qantas Points nor Status Credits (clause 9.4.2), as are free tickets and prize tickets.
Which Qantas tickets earn no points at all?
Clause 9.4.2 lists the non-earning tickets: non-seat-occupying infant fares, charter and freighter flights, free tickets, Flight Rewards, travel-industry rebated tickets, competition prize tickets, tickets bought at auction, and any booking class not listed in (or excluded from) the Airline Earning Tables. Codeshare flights operated by a carrier that is not Qantas, a oneworld airline or a Qantas partner also earn nothing (clause 9.4.1).
Do taxes, fees and surcharges on an Qantas ticket earn points?
Irrelevant on Qantas, because flight earning is not spend-based: you receive a fixed number of points and Status Credits per segment from the distance band and fare category, so the taxes and carrier charges on the ticket neither add nor subtract anything.
If I upgrade a ticket on Qantas, do I earn points on the original fare or the upgraded cabin?
The original fare. Clause 9.3.2 says that, where eligible, Qantas Points and Status Credits are earned only for the class of travel originally purchased or redeemed rather than the upgraded class, so an Economy fare upgraded to Business with a Classic Upgrade Reward still earns at its Economy rate.
Do infant or child tickets on Qantas earn points?
Infant fares for a baby who does not occupy a seat earn no Qantas Points (clause 9.4.2). A child with their own seat and ticket earns in the normal way provided the child has their own Qantas Frequent Flyer account.
Do group bookings, tour packages or charter flights on Qantas earn points?
Charter flights are specifically excluded from earning (clause 9.4.2), and tickets bought at auction earn nothing. Group and package bookings earn only if they are ticketed in a booking class that appears in the Airline Earning Tables; classes excluded from those tables earn nothing.
Do employee, industry or heavily discounted fares on Qantas earn points?
No. Travel-industry rebated tickets, free tickets and competition prize tickets are all excluded from earning Qantas Points and Status Credits (clause 9.4.2).
How do I add my Qantas Frequent Flyer number to an existing Qantas booking?
Add it under Manage Booking on qantas.com or in the Qantas App before you fly; Qantas only earns Status Credits and points when the membership number is in the booking. If you forget, submit a missing points claim from My Account within 12 months of the flight.
Source: Qantas: claim missing points
Does Qantas have a calculator to estimate points for a flight?
Yes. Qantas publishes a Points Calculator at qantas.com/frequent-flyer/calculators that estimates the Qantas Points and Status Credits for a flight and the points needed for a Classic Flight Reward or upgrade.

Earning on partner airlines
Which airlines credit to the program, how much they earn and the rules for booking classes.
Which airlines can I credit to Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Qantas lists these airline partners: Jetstar, Air France, Air New Zealand, Air Tahiti Nui, Aircalin, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Bangkok Airways, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, China Eastern, El Al, Emirates, Fiji Airways, Finnair, Hawaiian Airlines, Iberia, IndiGo, Japan Airlines, KLM, LATAM, Malaysia Airlines, Oman Air, Philippine Airlines, Qatar Airways, Royal Air Maroc, Royal Jordanian, SriLankan Airlines and WestJet. Each has its own earning table and some earn Status Credits only in certain classes.
How are points calculated on partner airline flights credited to Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Partner-marketed flights use separate partner earning tables: a fixed number of Qantas Points and Status Credits per segment by route region and fare category (Discount Economy through First), rather than the Qantas and Jetstar tables that apply to QF-marketed flights. Classic Flight Reward tickets on partners earn nothing.
Which booking classes on partner airlines earn points in Qantas Frequent Flyer, and which earn nothing?
Each partner airline has its own earning table that maps its booking classes to the Discount Economy, Economy, Flexible Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First categories, and a class not listed for that partner earns nothing. Classic Flight Reward seats never earn points or Status Credits.
Do partner airline flights count toward elite status in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Yes. Status Credits are earned on eligible Qantas, Jetstar, oneworld member and oneworld connect flights, but you still need a minimum of four eligible Qantas or Jetstar flights in the Membership Year to reach or keep Silver, Gold or Platinum, and Platinum One requires at least 2,700 of its 3,600 Status Credits on Qantas flights.
Source: Qantas: status tiers
Does it matter whether a partner flight is ticketed by Qantas or by the partner for Qantas Frequent Flyer earning?
It is the marketing flight number, not the ticket stock, that decides the table: a QF-numbered codeshare earns from the Qantas earning tables (and counts toward the four Qantas-flight status minimum), while a flight sold under the partner's own code earns from that partner's table.
Which non-alliance airlines partner with Qantas Frequent Flyer for earning?
Outside oneworld, Qantas lists Emirates, Air New Zealand, Air France, KLM, China Eastern, China Airlines, El Al, IndiGo, Jetstar, LATAM, WestJet, Philippine Airlines, Bangkok Airways, Condor, Aircalin, Air Tahiti Nui and Skytrans as airline partners for earning Qantas Points.
Source: Qantas: airline partners
How long do partner airline flights take to post to Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Up to 14 days. After that you can lodge a missing points claim in My Account with the ticket or boarding pass details; the claim window is 12 months, or 6 months for Qatar Airways flights.
Source: Qantas: claim missing points
Can I credit different flights on the same ticket to different programs, or must the whole ticket go to Qantas Frequent Flyer?
The terms work flight by flight: a member who earns points in another airline's program will not receive Qantas Points for the same flight, and must nominate before travel the program in which they wish to earn (clause 9.1.4). So each flight earns in one program only, and you choose which before you fly.
Do Qantas Frequent Flyer elite members earn a bonus on partner airline flights?
Only on American Airlines. The 50%, 75% and 100% Status Bonus for Silver, Gold and Platinum applies to Qantas, Jetstar and American Airlines flights; other partners pay the base table rate.
Source: Qantas: Gold status
Where does Qantas publish the partner earning charts for Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Under Frequent Flyer, Calculators, Earning tables on qantas.com: one page for Qantas and Jetstar, one for partner airlines, plus the earn-categories page that maps booking classes, and a Points Calculator that quotes points and Status Credits for a specific segment.
Can I earn points on trains, buses or ferries through Qantas Frequent Flyer?
No. Qantas has no rail, bus or ferry partner; the transport partners are airlines, car hire (Avis, Budget, Britz, Apollo), BP fuel, Qantas Valet Parking and Uber.

Missing points and retroactive claims
What to do when a flight does not post, the claim window, and what the airline needs.
How long after a flight can I claim missing points from Qantas Frequent Flyer?
You must raise a missing-points query within twelve months of the flight; for non-flight transactions the window is six months (or whatever period the partner specifies) under clause 7.3. See our missing miles guide for the general process.
How do I file a missing points claim with Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Log in to My Account, choose Claim missing points and enter the flight details from your e-ticket or boarding pass; you can follow progress under Track flight claims. Wait 14 days after the flight before claiming, and claim within 12 months. See our missing miles guide.
Source: Qantas: claim missing points
What information does Qantas Frequent Flyer need for a missing points claim?
Qantas can ask for proof of the flights claimed, such as copies of ticket coupons, original boarding passes or receipts (clause 7.4), so keep your e-ticket number and boarding passes until the points post.
How do I claim missing points for a partner airline flight in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Same online form in My Account, once 14 days have passed since the partner flight, within 12 months of travel (6 months for Qatar Airways). Non-airline partners are claimed with the partner directly: Avis on 1800 141 000, Budget on 1800 150 278, Qantas Shopping through its contact form with proof of purchase.
Source: Qantas: claim missing points
How long does Qantas Frequent Flyer take to process a retroactive claim?
Qantas flight claims are usually processed within 24 hours and partner airline claims within 14 days. Other partner transactions can take up to 8 weeks, hotel and Airbnb stays up to 90 days from check-out, and Qantas Shopping purchases up to 95 days.
Source: Qantas: claim missing points
Can I claim points for flights taken before I joined Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Only for the 30 days before you joined: Qantas Points are earned on eligible Qantas, Jetstar, oneworld and oneworld connect flights flown after the joining date and up to 30 days prior to it. Claim such a flight through Claim missing points in My Account; older travel cannot be credited.
Source: Qantas: claim missing points
My flight was credited to the wrong program. Can Qantas Frequent Flyer move the points?
Not while the other program holds the credit: clause 9.1.4 says a member who earns points in another airline's loyalty program will not receive Qantas Points for the same flight, and that the program must be nominated before travel. Make sure your Qantas number is in the booking before you fly.
Will Qantas Frequent Flyer credit a flight if the name on the ticket does not exactly match my account?
Not automatically. Qantas requires the name on the ticket to match the name on the Frequent Flyer account, and says that if there is any discrepancy the member will not receive Qantas Points or Status Credits through the automated process. Book in your membership name, or see our missing miles guide if a flight has already gone uncredited.
What can I do if Qantas Frequent Flyer rejects a missing points claim?
Reply to the response email with any extra evidence and it is reassessed by a different team member; Qantas aims to acknowledge complaints within 3 business days and resolve them within 15. If still unresolved you can go to the independent Airline Customer Advocate.

What do Qantas Frequent Flyer tiers map to in the alliance (Star Alliance Gold, oneworld Emerald, SkyTeam Elite Plus)?
Silver is oneworld Ruby, Gold is oneworld Sapphire, and Platinum and Platinum One are both oneworld Emerald. Qantas is in oneworld, so there is no Star Alliance or SkyTeam equivalent.
Source: Qantas: oneworld alliance
Can elite benefits in Qantas Frequent Flyer be shared with family or a companion?
Partly. Platinum members who reach 2,400 Status Credits can gift complimentary Gold to a family member or friend, and Platinum One members can gift Platinum for the life of their own membership. Gold and above can bring a guest into the lounge, and a whole booking boards with its highest-tier passenger.

Do surplus qualifying points roll over to the next year in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
From 8 December 2026, yes: Gold, Platinum and Platinum One carry 50% of their excess Status Credits into the new Membership Year (capped between 350 and 500), Silver carries 25% (capped at 100). Until then only Points Club members roll over, up to 100 Status Credits.
Can I gift or nominate someone for status in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Yes at the top tiers. A Platinum who earns 2,400 Status Credits in a year chooses between complimentary Gold for any family member or friend and 50,000 Qantas Points; Platinum One members get complimentary Platinum to gift to one person for the duration of their own membership.
Source: Qantas: Platinum status
Can I buy status or top-up missing qualifying points in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Not directly; Qantas sells Top-up Points but not Status Credits. From 8 December 2026 up to 140 Status Credits a year can be earned on the ground through Qantas Points from cards, utilities, hotels, fuel and shopping, which is the closest thing to buying status.
Will Qantas Frequent Flyer elite benefits be recognised on partner airlines?
Yes, through oneworld. Sapphire (Gold) gets business-class check-in, preferred seating, priority boarding, extra baggage, priority standby and business lounges on any oneworld carrier; Emerald (Platinum and Platinum One) adds first-class check-in and lounges, priority baggage and fast-track security. Ruby (Silver) gets business check-in and preferred seats only.

Does Qantas Frequent Flyer offer selectable benefits or milestone rewards for elites?
Yes. Every 500 Status Credits earns a Loyalty Bonus of 50 Status Credits, up to four times a year (claim within 90 days). Platinum members at 2,400 Status Credits choose between complimentary Gold for someone else and 50,000 Qantas Points, and Platinum One members receive further bonuses at 5,000 and 7,000 Status Credits plus a Qantas Wine Premium membership.

Redeeming on Qantas
How awards are priced, the cheapest redemptions and the booking rules.
Does Qantas Frequent Flyer use a fixed award chart or dynamic pricing for Qantas flights?
Both. Classic Flight Rewards (red ribbon in search results) use fixed zone tables year-round on Qantas, Jetstar and partners; Classic Plus Flight Rewards (blue ribbon) are Qantas-only, available on every Qantas route, and priced dynamically so the points "fluctuate like a commercial fare". See our award chart.
What is the cheapest award ticket in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
A Jetstar Zone 1 (0-600 miles) Economy Classic Flight Reward at 5,700 points one-way, as of the 5 August 2025 tables; the equivalent Qantas-operated Zone 1 Economy seat is 9,200 points and Business 19,300, plus taxes, fees and carrier charges.
Can I book one-way awards in Qantas Frequent Flyer, and are they half the round-trip price?
Yes. Classic Flight Rewards are priced one-way per segment by distance zone, so a return is simply two one-ways. The exception is the oneworld Classic Flight Reward, which is priced on the total return distance of the itinerary (up to 35,000 miles).
Source: Qantas: Classic Flight Rewards
How do I search for award seats on Qantas?
Search on qantas.com or in the app with the "Use points" option: Classic Flight Rewards show a red ribbon and Classic Plus a blue one, and the multi-city tool combines partner segments. For international Classic Rewards across Qantas, Jetstar and 30 partners use the Flight Reward Finder at flightrewardfinder.qantas.com.
What is the difference between saver and standard (or flexible) awards in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Classic Flight Rewards are the saver level: fixed points, limited capacity-controlled seats, bookable on Qantas, Jetstar and partners, and an upgrade-eligible economy or premium economy fare. Classic Plus Flight Rewards are the flexible level: Qantas-only, widely available on any route, dynamically priced, also upgradeable, with the same change and cancellation fees; a fare rise on a change costs extra cash rather than points.
Does Qantas Frequent Flyer allow stopovers or open jaws on award tickets?
The oneworld Classic Flight Reward allows up to five free stopovers, with no more than one stopover in any one city (clause 14.4.4). For other Classic Flight Rewards Qantas points you to its multi-city booking tool to build in stopovers as separate segments.
Can I book a mixed-cabin award in Qantas Frequent Flyer, and how is it priced?
Yes. Both Classic and Classic Plus Flight Rewards let you combine cabins and fare types in a single booking, with each segment priced at its own cabin rate.
Can I pay part in points and part in cash with Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Yes, through Points Plus Pay: you choose any mix of Qantas Points and card payment for Qantas and Jetstar flights, hotels at qantas.com/hotels, holiday packages, Qantas Marketplace and Qantas Wine. The minimum redemption is 2,000 points, and it is not available on Classic Hotel Rewards.
Source: Qantas: Use Qantas Points
How do I add an infant or child to an award ticket in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
An infant under two who does not occupy a seat travels on a Classic Flight Reward without any points being redeemed, as long as the accompanying adult is on a Classic Flight Reward; taxes, fees and carrier charges (including GST) may still be payable for the infant (clause 14.2.5). A child needing a seat is booked as a separate Classic Flight Reward passenger.
Does Qantas Frequent Flyer offer a round-the-world or multi-city award?
Yes. The oneworld Classic Flight Reward is Qantas's round-the-world award: fly to five or fewer cities using two or more oneworld airlines, with up to five free stopovers and only one stopover per city (clause 14.4.4). Qantas suggests using the multi-city booking tool to explore stopover combinations.
Source: Qantas: Use Qantas Points
Do awards in Qantas Frequent Flyer book into basic economy or a regular fare?
Classic Flight Rewards book into their own reward classes: X in Economy, Z in Premium Economy, U in Business and P in First, separate from the Discount Economy sale classes. They earn no points or Status Credits but can be upgraded.
Source: Qantas: fare codes
What is the minimum number of points needed to book an award in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
A full Classic Flight Reward starts at 5,700 points (Jetstar Zone 1 Economy) or 9,200 on Qantas; below that, Points Plus Pay lets you put as few points as you like toward a cash fare using a slider, and you can buy Top-up Points in 1,000-point blocks to close a gap.
What are the best-value redemptions in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Qantas itself says Classic Flight Rewards are typically the best-value reward seats you can book with Qantas Points; they cost a fixed number of points on Qantas, Jetstar, Emirates, oneworld and selected partner flights. For long multi-city trips, the oneworld Classic Flight Reward prices a whole itinerary of up to 35,000 miles on at least two oneworld airlines by total distance. See the award chart and our value estimate.
Source: Qantas: Classic Flight Rewards
Does flying on an award ticket in Qantas Frequent Flyer earn status or points?
No. Qantas Points and Status Credits are not earned on Classic Flight Reward flights, the sole exception being Points Club and Points Club Plus members, who earn Status Credits on Qantas-marketed Classic Rewards until Points Club retires on 8 December 2026. Points Plus Pay bookings, by contrast, earn both.
Can I select seats on an award ticket in Qantas Frequent Flyer, and is there a charge?
Yes, at no charge for standard seats: every Frequent Flyer gets complimentary standard seat selection on Qantas-operated flights originating in Australia, and Silver and above on flights from elsewhere. Extra-legroom and Economy Plus seats are free only for Platinum, Platinum One and (from 24 hours out) Gold.
Source: Qantas: seat selection
What baggage allowance do I get on an award ticket in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
The normal allowance for the cabin: for example 1 x 23 kg domestic Economy, 30 kg international Economy to most destinations, 40 kg in Business, plus your status extra. Jetstar Classic Flight Rewards get the same 30 kg allowance as paid Jetstar fares.

Redeeming on partner airlines
Which partners can be booked, online versus by phone, and the partner-specific rules.
Which partner airlines can I book with points from Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Jetstar, every oneworld airline (American, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways, Fiji Airways, Alaska, Hawaiian and more), Emirates, and non-alliance partners such as Air New Zealand, Air France, KLM, China Eastern, China Airlines and El Al, across more than 1,300 destinations. See our partner award guide.
Source: Qantas: Classic Flight Rewards
Which partner awards can be booked online with Qantas Frequent Flyer, and which need a phone call?
Most partner Classic Flight Rewards can be booked on qantas.com (the Flight Reward Finder covers 30 partner airlines), but some international partner itineraries must be booked through the Qantas Contact Centre, where a Reward Assistance Fee applies and at least 24 hours' notice is needed.
Source: Qantas: Classic Flight Rewards
How are partner awards priced in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
A separate partner airline table by one-way distance zone, higher than the Qantas table: Zone 1 (0-600 miles) is 11,500 points Economy, 21,000 Business and 30,500 First, rising to 76,100, 182,900 and 261,600 in Zone 10 (9,601-15,000 miles). Emirates has its own table from 31 March 2026 and oneworld multi-carrier itineraries are priced on total return distance (Zone 10, up to 35,000 miles: 152,200 Economy, 365,800 Business, 523,200 First).
Does Qantas Frequent Flyer charge a fee for partner awards?
No booking fee online, only the taxes, fees and carrier charges, which for international and partner flights must be paid by card. Partner bookings that have to go through the contact centre attract a Reward Assistance Fee (waived for Platinum One).
Source: Qantas: Classic Flight Rewards
Can I combine Qantas and partner flights on one award in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Yes. The multi-city tool combines Qantas and partner segments in one Classic Flight Reward booking, and the oneworld Classic Flight Reward requires at least two oneworld airlines alongside Qantas on one itinerary of up to 35,000 miles.
Which non-alliance airlines can be booked with Qantas Frequent Flyer points?
Emirates (own reward table from 31 March 2026), Air New Zealand, Air France, KLM, China Eastern, China Airlines and Jetstar are the main non-oneworld carriers with Classic Flight Rewards; the partner tables list Air France and Air New Zealand alongside oneworld members at the same partner rates.
Are stopovers allowed on partner awards in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Yes on the oneworld Classic Flight Reward: an itinerary on at least two oneworld airlines other than Qantas, with no non-oneworld carriers and no more than 35,000 miles, allows up to five free stopovers, only one stopover in any one city and no more than two transfers in any one city (clauses 14.4.1, 14.4.2 and 14.4.4). A one-way itinerary is charged as a return, and mixing cabins prices the whole trip at the highest class booked (clauses 14.4.3 and 14.4.6).
Can I use points to upgrade a partner airline flight through Qantas Frequent Flyer?
No. Classic Upgrade Rewards are only available on Qantas-operated domestic and international flights (and via the App for domestic On Departure upgrades); there is no points upgrade on partner-operated flights.
Source: Qantas: Classic Upgrade Rewards
Can partner awards booked through Qantas Frequent Flyer be changed or cancelled online?
Changes can't be made online: Qantas's change-flights page lists bookings that include airline partners, along with multi-city and Jetstar bookings, among the points bookings that cannot be changed online, so you contact Qantas to make the change, and a change fee per passenger applies to Classic Flight Rewards. The Frequent Flyer terms, a separate page, also only allow partner segments to be changed up to 24 hours before any travel on the itinerary begins (clause 14.5.13).
Source: Qantas: change flights
Taxes, fees and surcharges on awards
What is added on top of the points, and which fees can be avoided.
Does Qantas Frequent Flyer add fuel surcharges to award tickets on Qantas?
Yes. Every Classic Flight Reward carries "taxes, fees and carrier charges" on top of the points, and Qantas's carrier charge is the surcharge component. For flights departing Australia you can pay those charges with points on qantas.com (except local airport fees); elsewhere they are paid by card.
Source: Qantas: Classic Flight Rewards
Does Qantas Frequent Flyer charge a booking fee for award tickets?
Not online. Booking through the Qantas Contact Centre attracts a Reward Assistance Fee per booking, which Platinum One members have waived along with booking fees on new Qantas bookings.
Source: Qantas: Classic Flight Rewards
Does Qantas Frequent Flyer charge extra to book an award by phone?
Yes. A Reward Assistance Fee applies to points bookings made through the contact centre, and phone changes add a Service Fee per passenger. Platinum One members have the Reward Assistance Fee waived.
Does Qantas Frequent Flyer charge a close-in or last-minute booking fee for awards?
No close-in fee. Classic Flight Rewards can be booked online up to 2 hours before a domestic flight and 4 hours before an international one at the normal points price; only phone bookings need at least 24 hours' notice.
Source: Qantas: Classic Flight Rewards
Which award fees does Qantas Frequent Flyer waive for elite members?
Only Platinum One: Reward Assistance Fee, booking fee and Family Transfer fee are waived. Silver, Gold and Platinum get priority phone service but pay the same reward fees as everyone else.
Source: Qantas: compare status tiers
How much are the typical taxes and fees on a Qantas Frequent Flyer award ticket?
It depends on the route, but Qantas's own examples (updated September 2026) put the floor at A$25 in taxes, fees and carrier charges on a 5,700-point domestic reward seat and A$175.30 on an 11,000-point international reward.
Source: Qantas Travel Insider: how to find Classic Flight Reward seats
Can I pay the taxes and fees on a Qantas Frequent Flyer award with points?
Yes for departures from Australia booked on qantas.com: you can choose points instead of a card for the taxes, fees and carrier charges (local airport fees excluded). International and partner-airline departures require a card.
Source: Qantas: Classic Flight Rewards
Are taxes and fees refunded if I cancel a Qantas Frequent Flyer award?
Yes. When a Classic Flight Reward is cancelled before travel, the points are re-credited and the money paid is refunded to the original card, less the Cancellation Refund Fee (clause 14.6.2). If the airline cancelled and no reasonable alternative exists the fee is waived (14.6.4).
How can I reduce the cash cost of a Qantas Frequent Flyer award?
The lever Qantas offers is paying the cash part with points: on Qantas, Jetstar and selected partner Classic Flight Rewards departing Australia, you can use points for the taxes, fees and carrier charges when booking on qantas.com (local amounts paid to third parties at the airport excluded). Rewards departing elsewhere need a payment card for those charges.

Changes, cancellations and refunds
Fees, deadlines, redeposits, no-shows and what happens when the airline changes the schedule.
What does Qantas Frequent Flyer charge to change an award ticket?
Before ticketing you can change a Classic Flight Reward without a Change Fee, subject to availability; once ticketed a Change Fee per passenger applies (clause 14.5.5), and changes made by phone add a Service Fee per passenger on top (clause 14.5.7). The amounts are in the Fee Schedule; see our change and cancellation guide.
What does Qantas Frequent Flyer charge to cancel an award ticket and redeposit the points?
A Classic Flight Reward can be cancelled for a points re-credit any time before travel starts, less a Cancellation Refund Fee (clause 14.6.2). If the airline cancels the flight and cannot arrange reasonable alternative travel the fee is waived (clause 14.6.4).
How close to departure can I cancel a Qantas Frequent Flyer award?
Cancellation for re-credit must happen before any travel on the ticket commences (clause 14.6.2). Online changes are blocked within 24 hours of departure (clause 14.5.6), and no international Classic Flight Reward can be reissued within 24 hours of departure from the origin (clause 14.5.9), so act earlier than that.
What happens to my points if I no-show a Qantas Frequent Flyer award?
A no-show forfeits that segment and the remaining segments on the reward are cancelled; a Reinstatement Fee applies to get them back (clause 14.6.5). Once any travel has commenced the reward counts as used and unused coupons are not re-credited (clause 14.6.3).
Can I change or cancel a Qantas Frequent Flyer award online, or must I call?
Both work, but online is cheaper: any change made by phone incurs a Service Fee per passenger in addition to the Change Fee (clause 14.5.7). The website will not let you change a reward within 24 hours of departure (clause 14.5.6).
What are my rights if Qantas changes the schedule of my award flight?
If Qantas cancels the flight and cannot arrange reasonable alternative travel, it re-credits the points and waives the Cancellation Refund Fee (clause 14.6.4). To move to another Qantas flight yourself, the terms allow a change of flight number or date on Qantas segments for a Change Fee (14.5.12), but an international Classic Flight Reward cannot be reissued within 24 hours of departure (14.5.9). See our change and cancellation guide.
Can I cancel just the return of a round-trip Qantas Frequent Flyer award?
Not for a points refund. Once any travel on a Classic Flight Reward has commenced the reward is treated as used and points for unused coupons are not re-credited (clause 14.6.3), so book the two directions as separate one-way rewards if you want that flexibility.
Can I change the passenger name on a Qantas Frequent Flyer award?
Name changes are allowed only on QF-numbered flights operated by Qantas, and a Change Fee applies (clause 14.5.10(e)). A Flight Reward issued for an eligible family member must be in that person's name from the outset (clause 14.2.3).
Are change and cancellation fees waived for Qantas Frequent Flyer elite members?
Not the change or cancellation fees themselves. Platinum One is the only tier with reward fee waivers, and those cover the Reward Assistance Fee, booking fee and Family Transfer fee rather than change and cancellation charges.
Source: Qantas: compare status tiers
Does Qantas Frequent Flyer offer a 24-hour free cancellation on awards?
Not a free cancellation. Qantas's 24-hour policy lets you report a mistake on a booking made at qantas.com within 24 hours and have the flight details corrected with no change fee (a fare difference may apply). Cancelling a Flight Reward before travel starts costs a Qantas Points cancellation fee, with your points and taxes refunded.
Source: Qantas: cancel flights
Are the change and cancellation rules different for partner awards in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
One extra restriction: changes to partner airline segments on a Classic Flight Reward are only permitted up to 24 hours before any travel on the itinerary begins (clause 14.5.13), whereas Qantas segments can have their flight number or date changed for a Change Fee (clause 14.5.12). Cancellation works the same for Qantas, oneworld and partner tickets: points are re-credited if the ticket is cancelled before any travel starts, less a Cancellation Refund Fee (clause 14.6.2).
What does Qantas do if my award flight is cancelled on the day, and can I be rebooked on partners?
If the airline cancels a Classic Flight Reward and reasonable alternative travel cannot be arranged, Qantas refunds the points and waives the Cancellation Refund Fee (clause 14.6.4). If a booked Reward is withdrawn, Qantas either refunds the points or offers an alternative Reward of similar value (clause 3.4).
Award availability
When seats are released, holds, waitlists and how to find space.
How far in advance can I book award tickets in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Classic Flight Rewards open 353 days before departure. Online you can book until two hours before a domestic flight or four hours before an international one; by phone the cut-off is 24 hours before departure (clause 14.2.1).
When does Qantas release award seats, and are more added closer to departure?
Classic Flight Rewards open up to 353 days before departure, and Silver and higher members get early access to them. Seats are capacity controlled, so Qantas advises checking back often rather than expecting a set release close to departure.
Source: Qantas: Classic Flight Rewards
Can I put a Qantas Frequent Flyer award on hold before paying?
The terms leave no room for an unpaid hold: clause 13.2.2 says a Flight Reward booking is not considered accepted until the required Qantas Points have been redeemed and any payment has been made by an accepted card, and clause 13.2.4 requires a confirmed booking that cannot be waitlisted. Until the points and the taxes, fees and carrier charges are paid, the seat is not yours.
Does Qantas Frequent Flyer have an award waitlist?
No. Clause 13.2.4 says a Flight Reward booking must be a confirmed booking and may not be waitlisted, and open-dated segments are not permitted either, so only reward seats showing as available can be booked. See our availability guide.
Do Qantas Frequent Flyer elite members get extra award availability?
Yes. "Early access to Classic Flight Rewards" is a listed benefit from Silver upward, and Gold, Platinum and Platinum One also get priority for Classic Upgrade Rewards.
Source: Qantas: Silver status
Can I redeem points for any seat on Qantas, or only for designated award seats?
Classic Flight Rewards are limited, capacity-controlled seats, but Classic Plus Flight Rewards are available on every Qantas destination at a dynamic points price, and Points Plus Pay lets you put points toward any commercial fare on Qantas or Jetstar. So on Qantas metal almost any seat can be had for points; the question is the price.
What tools show Qantas Frequent Flyer award availability across dates?
Qantas's own International Flight Rewards Finder (flightrewardfinder.qantas.com) searches Classic Flight Rewards across Qantas, Jetstar and 30 partner airlines by date, and the calculators page quotes points for a route. See our availability guide.
Can I set an alert for Qantas Frequent Flyer award availability?
Qantas's own advice is to opt in for Reward Seat Spotlight emails in your Frequent Flyer profile and follow Qantas Points on Instagram, then check qantas.com regularly because the number of seats released fluctuates. Its Flight Reward finder lets you browse a 12-month window across multiple cities or regions without choosing exact dates. See our availability guide.
Source: Qantas Travel Insider: how to find Classic Flight Reward seats
Why does Qantas Frequent Flyer show award space that will not book?
Because availability moves. Qantas's own reward-seat guide (September 2026) says Classic Flight Reward availability is not guaranteed until booked on qantas.com, that seats are capacity controlled and limited, and that the number of seats released fluctuates, so a seat seen in an earlier search or in the Flight Reward finder can be gone by the time you complete the booking. See our availability guide.
Source: Qantas Travel Insider: how to find Classic Flight Reward seats
When is the best time to book a Qantas Frequent Flyer award?
As early as possible: Classic Flight Rewards open 353 days out and status members see them first. For Europe, Qantas suggests trying alternative stopover hubs (Hong Kong, Tokyo, Dubai, Shanghai, Taipei), starting from Perth or Brisbane, and watching commercial fare sales, which pull Classic Plus prices down.
Source: Qantas: points to Europe
How do I find award seats for a family of four in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Qantas's own tips for scarce reward seats (September 2026) are the ones to use when you need four: scan up to 12 months across several cities at once in the Flight Reward finder (international rewards only), map the trip leg by leg via alternative hubs, which Qantas says increases the number of reward seats to choose from, and aim for off-peak or shoulder-season dates in premium cabins. If four Classic seats will not line up, Classic Plus Flight Rewards cost more points but offer a wider range of options, especially at peak times. See our availability guide.

Upgrades
Using points to move up a cabin, eligible fares, copays and waitlists.
How do I upgrade an Qantas flight with points?
Request a Classic Upgrade Reward on an eligible Qantas-operated booking and the points are charged at the rate in the Classic Upgrade Reward tables only when the upgrade is confirmed (clauses 17.1.1 and 17.1.2). Upgrades are capacity controlled, so Qantas advises requesting early and choosing off-peak dates.
Source: Qantas: Use Qantas Points
Which fares are eligible for a points upgrade on Qantas?
Classic Upgrade Rewards can be requested on eligible paid Qantas fares that are ticketed and confirmed, on Classic Plus Flight Rewards, and on Economy and Premium Economy Classic Flight Rewards, provided the flight is operated by Qantas (clause 17.1.3).
How many points does an upgrade cost in Qantas Frequent Flyer, and is there a cash copay?
Points only, no cash copay. Domestic Economy to Business Zone 1 (0-600 miles, e.g. Sydney-Melbourne) is 6,200 points from a Flex fare, 12,500 from a Red e-Deal and 15,000 from a Classic Flight Reward; Zone 4 (2,401-3,600 miles) is 19,600, 44,400 and 45,700. Internationally, Economy to Premium Economy runs 9,600 to 117,700 points and Economy to Business 14,300 to 162,100 across Zones 1 to 10 (tables from 5 August 2025).
Can I use points to upgrade partner airline flights through Qantas Frequent Flyer?
No. Classic Upgrade Rewards apply only to Qantas-operated flights; partner-operated flights, including codeshares, cannot be upgraded with Qantas Points.
Source: Qantas: Classic Upgrade Rewards
Can I waitlist for a points upgrade in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Effectively yes: an upgrade request sits pending and is processed in tier order (Platinum One, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze) within each tier's window, and points are only deducted if it is confirmed. Some international flights let you opt in to stay eligible right up to the gate.
Source: Qantas: Classic Upgrade Rewards
Can I upgrade with points at check-in or at the gate on Qantas?
Yes on domestic flights: Platinum One, Platinum, Gold, Qantas Club and Points Club Plus members can request an On Departure Upgrade in the Qantas App within three hours of departure, and on some international flights you can opt in to remain eligible up to the gate. Once an On Departure Upgrade is confirmed the points are not refundable.
Source: Qantas: Classic Upgrade Rewards
Does Qantas Frequent Flyer give elite members upgrade certificates or instruments?
No. Qantas issues no upgrade certificates or vouchers; every upgrade is a Classic Upgrade Reward paid in points, with status determining priority rather than granting free instruments.
Source: Qantas: Classic Upgrade Rewards
Can I upgrade an award ticket with more points in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Yes. Economy and Premium Economy Classic Flight Rewards, and Classic Plus Flight Rewards, are eligible for a Classic Upgrade Reward on Qantas-operated flights (clause 17.1.3); you pay the upgrade rate from the Classic Upgrade Reward tables.
Are upgrade points refunded if the upgrade does not clear in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Points are only deducted when the Classic Upgrade Reward is confirmed (clause 17.1.2), so if your request never clears nothing is taken; you just need to hold enough points both when you request and when it is confirmed.
Does Qantas sell cash upgrades or run upgrade auctions, and do they earn points?
Yes, both. Bid Now Upgrades on selected Qantas-operated domestic and international flights let you offer an amount within a minimum and maximum Qantas sets for each flight, in cash or (for Frequent Flyer members) a mix of cash and Qantas Points. Offers close 5 hours before departure on domestic flights and 10 hours before on international flights, and Qantas confirms a successful bid between 24 and 2.5 hours before departure on domestic flights and between 24 and 7 hours before on international flights. International Economy Sale fares and Qantas Group Travel bookings are excluded. Confirmed Upgrades are also offered on a limited basis at a fixed cash price, and a successful bid earns Qantas Points and Status Credits at the rate of your original booking, not the upgraded cabin.
Source: Qantas: Bid Now Upgrades
Non-flight redemptions
Hotels, cars, merchandise, seats, bags and other ways to spend points.
Can I redeem points for hotels through Qantas Frequent Flyer, and what is the value?
Yes, two ways: Classic Hotel Rewards are points-only stays with blackout dates and minimum-night rules that earn no points, and Points Plus Pay lets you offset any booking at qantas.com/hotels or qantas.com/holidays with a minimum of 2,000 points. Hotel bookings paid with cash earn 3 Qantas Points per A$1.
Source: Qantas: Use Qantas Points
Can I redeem points for car rentals through Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Yes. Car hire is one of the Points Plus Pay categories on qantas.com, and hire with Avis and Budget also earns points; Qantas Business Rewards points transferred to a member can be used the same way.
Source: Qantas: Use Qantas Points
Can I redeem points for merchandise or gift cards in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Yes. Qantas Marketplace sells merchandise and gift cards from more than 1,200 brands for points or Points Plus Pay (minimum 2,000 points), with delivery within Australia and delivery charges applying. Qantas Wine also accepts points.
Source: Qantas: Use Qantas Points
Can I pay for seat selection with points on Qantas?
Yes, where offered: paid seat selection can be bought with Qantas Points instead of a card, as long as you are logged in as a Frequent Flyer member when you choose the seat. Points can be used in only one seat transaction per booking at a time (later seat purchases on the same booking need a card), and a price difference cannot be paid with points. Standard seat selection is free on Classic Flight Rewards and Classic Plus Flight Rewards anyway.
Can I pay for checked bags with points on Qantas?
Yes. Additional checked baggage can be pre-purchased online with Qantas Points or cash, either when booking or in Manage booking up to three hours before departure, provided you are logged in to qantas.com with your membership number and have enough points. Points Plus Pay cannot be used for bags, and the points price varies and is valid only when quoted; pre-purchasing costs less than paying at the airport.
Can I pay for in-flight Wi-Fi or food with points on Qantas?
There is nothing to pay for on Qantas-operated flights: Qantas says Wi-Fi is fast and free on its Wi-Fi-connected aircraft on select domestic and international routes, and meals or snacks and drinks are included with every ticket, with a self-serve snack bar on select international flights. So points are not needed for either.
Can I redeem points for lounge access or a lounge membership in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Yes. Qantas Club membership can be bought with points: from 11 December 2025 a one-year membership is A$719 or 119,600 points and two years A$1,349 or 224,900 points, plus a A$149 joining fee; the A$99 per 28 days Flexible membership is cash only. Single-visit lounge passes can also be bought with cash or points up to an hour before departure.
Can I donate points to charity through Qantas Frequent Flyer?
Yes. The Give Back section of Qantas Marketplace lets you use Qantas Points to support charities working on Indigenous, medical and sustainability causes: the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation, Australian Red Cross, Beyond Blue, The Australian Ballet, Kimberley Land Council, OzHarvest, Paralympics Australia, the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the Clontarf Foundation, the Heart Foundation, the Great Barrier Reef Foundation and UNICEF.
Source: Qantas Marketplace: Give Back
Does Qantas Frequent Flyer offer experiences, events or auctions for points?
Yes, through Points Plus Pay: Qantas Activities, Qantas Holidays packages, Qantas Cruises, TripADeal tours and Ticketek events can all be paid partly or wholly in points. There is no auction program.
Source: Qantas: Points Plus Pay
Can I convert points to cash or statement credit in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
No. Qantas Points cannot be converted to or exchanged for money (clause 12.10). The closest option is Points Plus Pay, which lets you offset the cash cost of flights, hotels, Marketplace items or wine with points.
Can I use points to extend status or buy tier credit in Qantas Frequent Flyer?
No. Points cannot be converted into Status Credits or a longer status year; the only status levers are Status Hold for parental leave (up to 18 months) and, from 8 December 2026, up to 140 Status Credits a year earned from everyday spend.
Expiry and reactivation
Whether points expire, what keeps them alive and how to get them back.
Do Qantas Frequent Flyer points expire?
Yes. All Qantas Points expire at midnight Sydney time at the end of the 18th consecutive month in which you have neither earned Qantas Points or Status Credits nor redeemed points (clause 9.2.2). Qantas warns you in the 60 days before the expiry date. See our expiry guide.
What counts as activity to keep Qantas Frequent Flyer points from expiring?
Earning any Qantas Points or Status Credits, or redeeming any points, resets the 18-month clock. Receiving a Family Transfer or a transfer from a Qantas Business Rewards account does not count (clauses 9.1.6 and 11.1(g)).
Can expired Qantas Frequent Flyer points be reinstated, and at what cost?
No. Clause 9.2.4 is blunt: Qantas Points cannot be re-credited once they have expired, and there is no paid reinstatement option.
Are Qantas Frequent Flyer elite members or cardholders exempt from expiry?
No formal exemption: clause 9.2.2 applies the 18-month inactivity rule to all points in any account. In practice status members keep earning, and any Qantas Points or Status Credits earned reset the clock, so elite accounts rarely expire.
How do I check when my Qantas Frequent Flyer points expire?
Log in to your Membership Account, where account information and Activity Statements can be viewed free of charge (clause 10.1): your points expire 18 months after your last earning or redemption, so the latest dated activity sets the clock. Qantas also tells you how many points are about to expire in the 60 days before they do (clause 9.2.3). See our expiry guide.
What is the cheapest way to keep Qantas Frequent Flyer points active?
Earn a handful of points from any partner: a fill at BP (1 point per litre, 2 on Ultimate), converting 2,000 Everyday Rewards points into 1,000 Qantas Points, a click-through purchase on Qantas Shopping, or a Qantas Wellbeing app challenge. A Family Transfer in does not count as activity.
Does a bank transfer or a purchase of points reset the Qantas Frequent Flyer expiry clock?
A Family Transfer or a transfer from Qantas Business Rewards does not count as activity and will not stop expiry (clauses 9.1.6 and 11.1(g)). Earning Qantas Points or Status Credits from any partner, or redeeming points, is what resets the 18-month clock.

Program rules, ownership and selling
What the terms say about who owns points, selling, brokers and enforcement.
Who owns Qantas Frequent Flyer points: the member or the airline?
Qantas. The membership card, number and PIN are Qantas property and non-transferable (clauses 6.2 and 6.3), points cannot be converted to or exchanged for money (clause 12.10), and Qantas can reverse or cancel points for breaches of the terms (clause 8.3).

Yes. Clause 7.1(d)(vi) requires members not to sell, assign, transfer or acquire any Reward, Benefit or Qantas Points in a way not expressly permitted by the terms, and clause 11.3 says a member must not require or receive any consideration for a Family Transfer. The only permitted transfers are Family Transfers and assigning a Reward to an eligible family member.
What can Qantas Frequent Flyer do if it finds points were sold or awards were bought?
Qantas Loyalty can immediately suspend the account on suspicion of fraud or a material breach (during suspension points may still accrue but nothing can be redeemed), then after a 14-day response period it may lift the suspension, reverse or cancel some or all Qantas Points and Status Credits, cancel or refuse to honour Rewards, or terminate the membership (clauses 8.1 to 8.3). For changes to Qantas-provided benefits that disadvantage members it must give at least three months' notice; for third-party benefits it gives 30 days where possible (clause 3.2). Ending the whole program needs six months' notice unless Qantas stops flying (clause 4).
