JetBlue TrueBlue elite status explained

JetBlue's elite status is called Mosaic, and it has four levels: Mosaic 1 at 50 tiles, Mosaic 2 at 100, Mosaic 3 at 150 and Mosaic 4 at 250. You earn one tile for every US$100 of qualifying spend on JetBlue flights, JetBlue Vacations and TrueBlue Travel, and one tile for every US$1,000 spent on any JetBlue credit card.

Tiles reset to zero on January 1 each year. Below Mosaic, every 10 tiles unlocks a perk you choose, so the first rewards arrive long before Mosaic 1.

JetBlue is not in an airline alliance, so Mosaic carries no alliance tier. Its closest partner is United: under the Blue Sky collaboration, Mosaic members get priority boarding, a free checked bag and preferred seats on United flights.

What counts toward status

A separate counter that decides your tier. You cannot spend it on flights or rewards.

TrueBlue keeps two separate counts. Points are the redeemable currency you spend on award flights and extras. Tiles only track progress toward perks and Mosaic, and JetBlue says plainly that tiles cannot be used to book award travel.

Both are earned on the same purchase, at very different rates. A flight earns points per dollar on top of a tile per US$100, while a JetBlue credit card earns points on every dollar but only one tile per US$1,000, so ten times less status per dollar than flying.

Worked example: a Mosaic 4 member buys a US$400 JetBlue fare on jetblue.com. JetBlue puts Mosaic 4 earning at 11 points per dollar in total, so the trip earns 4,400 points. The same US$400 adds 4 tiles toward next year's Mosaic. A member without status earns 6 points per dollar on the same booking, 2,400 points, and the same 4 tiles, because tiles depend only on spend, not on status.

Points never become tiles. The ways to add tiles without spending are limited to Perks You Pick (a 20-tile bonus, or a 20-tile gift from another member), the JetBlue Premier Card's annual tile bonus and, since February 2026, tiles earned by your children aged 12 and under.

Tiles count from January 1 to December 31 and reset to 0 on January 1. Since the October 2025 update, JetBlue says Mosaic status and benefits continue through January 31 every year, an extra month to cover holiday travel and card purchases.

Benefits of each JetBlue TrueBlue tier

Mosaic 1

Earn 50 tiles in a calendar year: one per US$100 of qualifying spend on JetBlue and United flights booked through JetBlue, JetBlue Vacations and TrueBlue Travel, plus one per US$1,000 on JetBlue credit cards.

  • First and second checked bags free, a benefit JetBlue extends to others on the same reservation when the Mosaic member travels with them.
  • Free EvenMore Space seat at check-in.
  • Same-day switches on most fares from 24 hours before departure, with no fare difference or fee (not on Base fares).
  • Mosaic boarding and priority security lane where available.
  • First alcoholic drink free on board for members 21 and over, on flights with inflight service.
  • One Mosaic Perk You Pick, such as IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite status, a pet fee waiver, a 15,000-point bonus or a 20-tile bonus.
  • On United: Group 2 boarding, one free checked bag with priority handling, Economy Plus at check-in and preferred seats after booking.

Mosaic 2

Earn 100 tiles in a calendar year from JetBlue flights, JetBlue Vacations, TrueBlue Travel and JetBlue credit card spend.

  • Everything in Mosaic 1, including two free checked bags.
  • EvenMore Space seats at the time of booking on JetBlue flights, rather than waiting for check-in.
  • A further Mosaic Perk You Pick for reaching the new level.
  • On United: Group 1 boarding, one free checked bag with priority handling, Economy Plus at check-in and preferred seats after booking.
  • Earn 8 TrueBlue points per dollar on United-operated flights booked through JetBlue.

Mosaic 3

Earn 150 tiles in a calendar year from JetBlue flights, JetBlue Vacations, TrueBlue Travel and JetBlue credit card spend.

  • Four Move to Mint certificates, issued automatically on reaching 150 tiles, to upgrade into Mint on any Mint route with no date restrictions, subject to availability.

Mosaic 4

Earn 250 tiles in a calendar year from JetBlue flights, JetBlue Vacations, TrueBlue Travel and JetBlue credit card spend.

  • Four more Move to Mint certificates on reaching 250 tiles, for eight in total, plus two more for every additional 100 tiles earned.
  • Complimentary BlueHouse lounge access with one guest at New York JFK and, since 27 August 2026, Boston Logan Terminal C, with a same-day boarding pass on a Main, EvenMore or Mint fare (JetBlue release, 24 August 2026).
  • The ability to gift Mosaic 1 status to another TrueBlue member.

How flights earn tiles

  • Tiles come from money spent, not miles flown. JetBlue flights, JetBlue Vacations and TrueBlue Travel earn one tile per US$100, and JetBlue counts extras and fees such as checked bags and pet fees as qualifying spend. United-operated flights booked on jetblue.com or the JetBlue app while signed in to TrueBlue earn points and tiles too.
  • All JetBlue credit cards earn one tile per US$1,000 of purchases. At that rate a card alone needs US$50,000 of spending to reach Mosaic 1, so the cards work best topping up flying.
  • Below Mosaic, JetBlue's perk ladder pays out every 10 tiles up to 50: at 10, 20, 30 and 40 tiles you pick a perk such as early boarding, priority security or a points bonus.
  • Since February 1, 2026, tiles earned by children aged 12 and under count toward the listed adult's perks and Mosaic status, which JetBlue calls the first program of its kind from a US airline.
  • Example: US$2,500 a year on JetBlue fares, bags and seats earns 25 tiles. Add the JetBlue Premier Card's annual 25-tile bonus and the cardholder reaches Mosaic 1 at 50 tiles without any other card spend.

How many points each tier earns

  • Mosaic members earn a bonus on top of the regular points for JetBlue flights. From February 1, 2026, the bonus is 3 points per dollar at Mosaic 1 and 2, 4 at Mosaic 3 and 5 at Mosaic 4, which JetBlue totals at 9, 10 and 11 points per dollar on flights booked on jetblue.com.
  • On United-operated flights booked through JetBlue, TrueBlue members earn 5 points per dollar of the pre-tax fare and carrier-imposed surcharges. Mosaic 1 and 2 earn 8, Mosaic 3 earns 9 and Mosaic 4 earns 10.
  • A US$300 United fare (before taxes) therefore earns 1,500 points for a member without status and 3,000 points for Mosaic 4.

Upgrades for JetBlue TrueBlue elites

  • Mint upgrades for Mosaic members come from Move to Mint certificates: four at Mosaic 3, four more at Mosaic 4 for eight in total, and two more for every 100 tiles beyond 250.
  • You buy a Main, Main Flex, EvenMore or EvenMore Flex fare on a Mint route, and the booking page shows how many certificates the flight needs. The number varies by flight date and time. You then apply the certificates in Manage Trips, paying taxes on select routes, any time up to 2 hours before departure.
  • Certificates must be used by their expiry date, shown on each certificate in your TrueBlue dashboard. After that date the flight cannot be changed.
  • EvenMore Space, JetBlue's extra-legroom economy, is free at check-in for Mosaic 1 and free at booking from Mosaic 2. Mosaic members can also choose priority access to Mint Suite selection on select aircraft as one of their Perks You Pick.
  • On United, Mosaic members get Economy Plus seating at check-in and preferred seats after booking under Blue Sky. JetBlue does not list complimentary United cabin upgrades among the shared benefits.

Credit cards that help with JetBlue TrueBlue status

  • Barclays issues the JetBlue cards in the US: the no-fee JetBlue Card, the JetBlue Plus Card, the JetBlue Business Card and the JetBlue Premier Card. Every one earns one tile per US$1,000 of purchases.
  • JetBlue Premier Card (US$499 a year, US$150 per authorized user): a 25-tile bonus every year, which JetBlue describes as halfway to Mosaic 1, plus companion pass credits worth up to US$500 after US$15,000 of spending and another up to US$1,500 after US$75,000, BlueHouse lounge access for the cardmember and a guest, Priority Pass Select and a 15% points rebate on award flights, per JetBlue's May 2026 announcement. JetBlue's limited-time offer was 100,000 points after US$5,000 of spending and paying the annual fee in the first three months.
  • Barclays' own Premier Card page, when read, still listed the earlier terms: 70,000 points plus 5 tiles after US$5,000 in 90 days, 6 points per dollar on JetBlue, 2 at restaurants and grocery stores, and 10% back on award flights. Check the application page for the offer in force.
  • JetBlue Plus Card (US$99): 50,000 points after US$1,000 of purchases and paying the annual fee in 90 days, 6 points per dollar on JetBlue, 2 at restaurants and grocery stores, 5,000 points each account anniversary, a free first checked bag for you and up to 3 companions, and 10% of points back on JetBlue award flights.
  • Mosaic members holding the JetBlue Plus or JetBlue Business card can choose a one-time US$99 statement credit as a Perk You Pick, once per Mosaic qualifying year.

Other ways to get JetBlue TrueBlue status

Status match

JetBlue runs an elite status match to Mosaic from other programs. Its Match to Mosaic page sets the current levels and conditions, which were not readable outside the signed-in site.

Gifted Mosaic 1

Mosaic 4 members can gift Mosaic 1 status to another TrueBlue member. Gifted Mosaic 1 does not include a Perks You Pick selection, the 5,000-point bonus or the JetBlue Vacations bonus.

Gifted and bonus tiles

Mosaic members can pick a 20-tile bonus for themselves or give a 20-tile boost to another member as a Perk You Pick. The tiles are added at once for the current year; you cannot gift tiles to yourself.

Children's tiles

From February 1, 2026, tiles earned by children aged 12 and under count toward the listed adult's perks and Mosaic status.

JetBlue Premier Card

The Premier Card adds 25 tiles every year, half of Mosaic 1, before any flying or card spend.

Vacations and hotels

JetBlue Vacations packages and hotels, cars and activities booked through TrueBlue Travel earn one tile per US$100, the same rate as flights.

Keeping JetBlue TrueBlue status

  • Mosaic is requalified every calendar year from zero tiles, since balances reset on January 1. Status and benefits now run through January 31, which gives a month of grace while the new year's tiles build up.
  • JetBlue does not publish a soft landing, rollover tiles or a lifetime Mosaic level on its readable pages. A shortfall can be closed with the 20-tile bonus perk, a 20-tile gift from another Mosaic member, or card spend at one tile per US$1,000.
