Hotels, car rentals and shopping

Claim from
The claim page says miles from non-airline partners appear six to eight weeks after you use the service.
Deadline
Within six months of the transaction date (terms E.2).
  1. Log in and use the Make a claim form with the documents terms E.5 require: a copy of the hotel bill, a copy of the car rental agreement, or the original purchase receipt for shopping.
  2. For miles converted from a non-airline partner's own program, follow the timeframe in that partner's terms (terms E.6).

How long it takes: Up to eight weeks after receipt (terms E.5).

What to have ready

  • Your KrisFlyer membership number and the flight details, which must match your booking and KrisFlyer record.
  • For hotel stays, a copy of the hotel bill.
  • For car rentals, a copy of the car rental agreement.
  • For shopping, the original purchase receipt.

Flights taken before you joined

  • Terms E.4 say retroactive claims made for flights before enrolment in KrisFlyer are only valid for Singapore Airlines flights, and the flights must have taken place no longer than 6 months prior to enrolment.
  • For flights on air partners before enrolment, requests are subject to the partner's approval (terms E.4).
  • Singapore Airlines' own claim page is stricter: it accepts retroactive claims only for flights up to 30 days before KrisFlyer enrolment. The two official pages disagree, so claim as soon as you join and treat 30 days as the safe limit.

Rules that decide a claim

  • Requests for missing miles are only considered if you identified yourself as a KrisFlyer member when booking and presented your membership card (or logged in with your membership details) at check-in (terms D.13).
  • Book under your name as it appears in your passport and your KrisFlyer membership record.
  • You can credit each flight or transaction to only one frequent flyer program; trying to earn in more than one forfeits the credit (terms D.12).
  • Industry and agency discount tickets, award and redemption tickets, infant fares, other special discounted tickets and charter flights earn no miles (terms D.5).
  • Miles cannot be transferred between a KrisFlyer account and another airline's program (terms D.14).

Fees

  • KrisFlyer lists no fee for a missing miles request.

If Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer refuses a claim

  • Check that the name and membership number on the booking match your KrisFlyer record; a name change on your record is accepted on written notice to Singapore Airlines (terms B.6).
  • A flight credited to another program cannot be moved, because KrisFlyer does not allow transfers between programs (terms D.14).
  • The pages read for this guide do not describe an appeal route for a refused claim; that is Not confirmed.
