Earning on Singapore Airlines flights

What a ticket earns, which fares are excluded, elite bonuses and posting times.

How are miles calculated on Singapore Airlines flights: by fare paid, by distance, or by a fixed amount?

By distance and booking class. KrisFlyer miles are awarded on the great-circle distance flown between departure and arrival airports, multiplied by a percentage set by the booking class letter (50% to 200% on Singapore Airlines), plus any Elite or promotional bonuses.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

How many miles do I earn per dollar (or per mile flown) on Singapore Airlines?

KrisFlyer does not earn per dollar on flights. On Singapore Airlines you earn a percentage of miles flown by booking class: Suites/First (A, F) 200%; Business Z, C, J 150% and D, U 125%; Premium Economy S, T 125% and R, L, P 100%; Economy B, E, Y 100%, M, H, W 75%, and Q, N, V, K, G 50%.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Do basic economy or light fares on Singapore Airlines earn miles?

Yes, at half rate: Economy Lite (V, K) and Economy Value (Q, N) fares earn 50% of flown miles, against 75% for Economy Standard (M, H, W) and 100% for Flexi (Y, B, E). Lite fares cannot be upgraded with miles, and the Elite Silver 25% bonus does not apply to Q, N, V, K or G bookings.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Fare types

What elite bonus do status members earn on Singapore Airlines flights?

KrisFlyer Elite Silver members earn 25% extra KrisFlyer miles on Singapore Airlines and Scoot flights, except in the deep-discount Economy classes Q, N, V, K and G. Separately, KrisFlyer Milestone Rewards add 25% bonus miles per segment once you pass 20,000 Elite miles in a calendar year, 50% at 30,000 and double miles at 60,000.

How long after a flight do miles post to my Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer account?

Allow two weeks for Singapore Airlines flights (the claims page says two to four weeks) and four weeks for KrisFlyer partner airline flights; non-airline partner activity can take six to eight weeks. If nothing has posted by then, file a missing miles claim.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Do award tickets earn miles or status credit on Singapore Airlines?

No. Award tickets and redemption tickets are listed among the fares that earn no KrisFlyer miles (section D.5.e.i), and a ticket paid entirely with miles earns no Elite miles or PPS Value either.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Which Singapore Airlines tickets earn no miles at all?

Industry discount, agency discount, award and redemption tickets, infant fares, charter flights and other special discounted fares specified by Singapore Airlines earn nothing. Codeshare flights marketed by Singapore Airlines but operated by a non-KrisFlyer partner airline also earn no miles.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Do taxes, fees and surcharges on an Singapore Airlines ticket earn miles?

Taxes are irrelevant to flight miles, which are distance-based rather than spend-based. Where spend does matter, for PPS Value and mix-miles-and-cash bookings, the calculation explicitly excludes airport taxes.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

If I upgrade a ticket on Singapore Airlines, do I earn miles on the original fare or the upgraded cabin?

On the original fare. mySQupgrade, the fixed-price paid upgrade offered up to nine hours before departure, does not change your fare conditions, so KrisFlyer miles, Elite miles and PPS Value accrue on the booking class you originally bought; it is not offered on Economy Lite, Economy Value, Premium Economy Lite or award tickets.

Source: Singapore Airlines: mySQupgrade

Do infant or child tickets on Singapore Airlines earn miles?

Infant fares earn no KrisFlyer miles (section D.5.e.i). A child aged two or over on a child fare can hold their own KrisFlyer account and earn on it.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Do I earn miles on a codeshare ticket sold by Singapore Airlines but flown by another airline?

Only if the operating carrier is a KrisFlyer partner. Miles are not awarded on codeshare flights marketed by Singapore Airlines but operated by a non-KrisFlyer partner airline; on partner-operated codeshares the partner's accrual rates apply.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Do group bookings, tour packages or charter flights on Singapore Airlines earn miles?

Charter flights earn no KrisFlyer miles (section D.5.e.ii). Group or package fares earn according to their booking class letter, unless they fall under the "other special discounted tickets" Singapore Airlines excludes.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Do employee, industry or heavily discounted fares on Singapore Airlines earn miles?

No. Industry discount and agency discount tickets are specifically excluded from earning KrisFlyer miles, and they are also ineligible for upgrade awards.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Yes. The KrisFlyer miles calculator at singaporeair.com/krisflyer/miles/miles-calculator estimates miles earned for a route and booking class, and has a redeem mode for award pricing.

All Star Alliance member airlines, Star Alliance Connecting Partners, Scoot and a set of other airline partners (the terms name Virgin Australia as counting for Elite status). The full booking-class accrual table is in the KFOALLevels PDF linked from the earn-when-you-fly page.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Earn miles when you fly

How are miles calculated on partner airline flights credited to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Which booking classes on partner airlines earn miles in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, and which earn nothing?

Does it matter whether a partner flight is ticketed by Singapore Airlines or by the partner for Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer earning?

For the partnerships Singapore Airlines documents, no: the Garuda Indonesia FAQ says you can add your KrisFlyer number to a Singapore Airlines booking at booking, check-in or the kiosk, or enter it on Garuda's own platforms before departure if you bought direct, and the operating flight and booking class decide the credit. Note that miles from Garuda flights do not count toward Elite status, and codeshares operated by Garuda credit only to KrisFlyer or GarudaMiles.

Which non-alliance airlines partner with Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer for earning?

Outside Star Alliance, KrisFlyer lists Garuda Indonesia, JetBlue, Malaysia Airlines, Olympic Air, Scandinavian Airlines and Virgin Australia as earning partners, plus Juneyao Air as a Star Alliance Connecting Partner and Scoot. Alaska Airlines left the partnership on 1 October 2025, with flights flown up to 31 December 2025 still eligible for credit.

How long do partner airline flights take to post to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

How does premium economy on partner airlines earn in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

At the partner's chart rate for the specific booking class, usually 100%: Lufthansa and SWISS Premium Economy (G, E, N) earns 100% on international sectors, while on Singapore Airlines itself Premium Economy earns 100% (R, L, P) or 125% (S, T). Check the letter on your ticket, because the same cabin can earn different percentages.

Credit is decided flight by flight: the KrisFlyer terms say a member can be credited with only one frequent flyer programme for each flight or transaction, and if you try to earn with more than one programme for the same flight, the KrisFlyer miles and status credits for that flight are forfeited (section D.12). For a Singapore Airlines ticket paid with KrisFlyer miles, the mix-miles-and-cash FAQ adds that any miles earned can only be credited to your KrisFlyer account.

Elite Silver: 25,000 Elite miles in 12 consecutive months. Elite Gold: 50,000 Elite miles in 12 consecutive months. PPS Club: 25,000 PPS Value in 12 consecutive months, and Solitaire PPS Club: 50,000 PPS Value earned while a PPS Club member.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer tiers

When does the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer qualification year start and end, and how long does status last?

It is individual rather than calendar-based: Elite miles are counted over a rolling 12 consecutive months for the upgrade, then reset to zero at the end of your personal Elite membership year, which runs 12 months from the date of upgrade or renewal.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Do partner airline flights count toward Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer status?

Yes for Star Alliance airlines and Virgin Australia (plus Scoot), whose Elite miles count toward Elite Silver and Gold. Partner flights never count toward PPS Club, which requires SIA premium-cabin spend.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer offer a status match or status challenge?

Not a general one. The only published route is the Preferred Partnership Program with Marriott Bonvoy, where Platinum, Titanium and Ambassador Elite members get complimentary KrisFlyer Elite Silver (one registration per person). Otherwise status fast-tracks come through co-brand cards, for example Elite Gold after S$15,000 of SIA spend on the Amex KrisFlyer Ascend.

Source: Singapore Airlines FAQ: Earning and redeeming KrisFlyer miles

Does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer offer lifetime or million-miler status?

Not for KrisFlyer tiers: the terms have no lifetime provision for Elite Silver or Gold. The only permanent status is Solitaire PPS Club Life, a legacy category whose members no longer need Reserve Value to keep their status; everyone else requalifies yearly (25,000 PPS Value for PPS Club, 50,000 for Solitaire PPS Club).

Source: Singapore Airlines FAQ: PPS Club

If I fall short of requalifying, does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer drop me one tier or all the way?

For PPS Club, yes: a member who ends the year below 25,000 PPS Value plus Reserve Value drops to KrisFlyer Elite Gold (first-year PPS members drop to Elite Gold or Elite Silver). For Elite Silver and Gold the published rule is simply that you must earn the same 25,000 or 50,000 Elite miles again within your membership year; no soft landing is documented.

Source: Singapore Airlines FAQ: PPS Club

What baggage benefits do Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer elite members get?

Elite Silver and Gold get an additional complimentary baggage allowance on Singapore Airlines, and Elite Gold adds priority baggage handling; PPS Club members get double the standard checked baggage allowance on SIA.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer tiers

Which Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer tiers get lounge access, and where?

Elite Gold gets access to KrisFlyer Gold lounges and Star Alliance Gold lounges worldwide; Elite Silver gets none. PPS Club members use the Business Class SilverKris Lounge area and Solitaire PPS Club the First Class area.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer tiers

Do Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer elite members get complimentary upgrades, and how are they prioritised?

No complimentary upgrades. Elite Silver and Gold get priority on the reservation waitlist and airport standby, and KrisFlyer Milestone Rewards hand out Advance Upgrade vouchers once you earn 75,000 Elite miles (short-haul) or 100,000 Elite miles (Economy to Premium Economy) in a calendar year, subject to availability.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer Milestone Rewards

Do Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer elite members get free seat selection or extra-legroom seats?

Elite Silver gets complimentary Standard Seat selection in Economy on Singapore Airlines (and free seat selection plus BoardMeFirst on Scoot); Elite Gold adds complimentary Forward Zone Seat selection in Economy.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer tiers

Which fees does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer waive for elite members?

Elite Silver and Gold get complimentary seat selection (Standard and Forward Zone respectively) that others pay for, and Elite Gold has the fee waived on the first flight date or time change per Scoot booking. Elites can also extend expiring miles for a year rather than six months.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer tiers

What do Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer tiers map to in the alliance (Star Alliance Gold, oneworld Emerald, SkyTeam Elite Plus)?

Elite Gold is the Star Alliance Gold tier: the tiers page gives Elite Gold access to Star Alliance and KrisFlyer Gold lounges worldwide, while Elite Silver's benefits are limited to SIA and Scoot (seat selection, priority check-in and boarding, extra baggage).

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer tiers

Can elite benefits in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer be shared with family or a companion?

Only at the very top: Solitaire PPS Club members receive a Solitaire PPS Club Supplementary card for sharing privileges. Elite Silver, Elite Gold and ordinary PPS Club benefits are personal, and the terms prohibit pooling miles or status credits.

Source: Singapore Airlines: PPS Club

Do surplus qualifying points roll over to the next year in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

No. Elite miles reset to zero at the end of your Elite membership year (12 months from upgrade or renewal), so surplus miles do not carry forward.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Can I gift or nominate someone for status in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

Not in KrisFlyer: the terms say membership is strictly personal and cannot be transferred. The one exception sits at the top of the programme, where Solitaire PPS Club members can name a supplementary cardholder who enjoys many, but not all, Solitaire privileges.

Source: Singapore Airlines: PPS Club and Solitaire PPS Club qualification

Can I buy status or top-up missing qualifying points in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

Not directly, but non-flight spend can contribute a capped amount: up to 5,000 non-flight Elite miles count toward Elite Silver, 10,000 toward Elite Gold, and up to 2,500 non-flight PPS Value (from Kris+, KrisShop and Pelago at 1 per SGD 3) toward PPS Club in a rolling 12-month period.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Will Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer elite benefits be recognised on partner airlines?

Yes. Elite Silver maps to Star Alliance Silver and Elite Gold to Star Alliance Gold, so priority check-in, boarding, baggage, extra allowance and (for Gold) lounge access with a guest apply across Star Alliance and its Connecting Partners. Gold members also get lounges and priority services on Virgin Australia, Garuda Indonesia and Scandinavian Airlines, and Scoot gives Silver and Gold BoardMeFirst and better seats.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer Elite benefits

Does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer offer selectable benefits or milestone rewards for elites?

Yes: KrisFlyer Milestone Rewards give discounts and upgrade rewards as you hit mileage milestones (available from the base tier), and PPS Club members are eligible for PPS Rewards.

Redeeming on Singapore Airlines

How awards are priced, the cheapest redemptions and the booking rules.

Does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer use a fixed award chart or dynamic pricing for Singapore Airlines flights?

A published chart with a dynamic overlay. Saver and Advantage awards are fixed by zone on the one-way award chart, while "Access" redemptions confirm any seat at a variable, demand-based mileage shown at booking. See the award chart.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Redeem miles for flights

What is the cheapest award ticket in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

A Scoot Economy award from 1,500 KrisFlyer miles, or 1,000 miles used as part-payment on a cash fare. The lowest Singapore Airlines Saver awards are on the one-way chart linked from the redeem page.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Redeem miles for flights

Can I book one-way awards in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, and are they half the round-trip price?

Yes. KrisFlyer publishes a one-way award chart and a round trip is simply twice the one-way miles.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Redeem miles for flights

What is the difference between saver and standard (or flexible) awards in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

Saver awards need fewer miles but have limited seats, so they reward booking early and being flexible. Advantage awards cost more miles, open up more seats on every flight and include two complimentary stopovers per round trip; Access awards confirm remaining seats at a demand-based price.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Redeem miles for flights

Does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer allow stopovers or open jaws on award tickets?

Advantage awards include two complimentary stopovers (a stop of 24 hours or more, up to 30 days) per round-trip ticket; Saver awards do not include free stopovers.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Redeem miles for flights

Can I book a mixed-cabin award in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, and how is it priced?

Yes, but it is priced at the top cabin: section J.2.4 of the terms says that when an itinerary includes bookings in different classes, the award level of the highest class applies to the whole award ticket, and the award chart repeats that rule.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Can I pay part in miles and part in cash with Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

Yes. On singaporeair.com or the app you can offset part of any SIA fare, including selected taxes, surcharges and ancillaries, with miles at 100 KrisFlyer miles to SGD 1, minimum 1,000 miles. You still earn miles, Elite miles and PPS Value in proportion to the cash portion.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Mix miles and cash

How do I add an infant or child to an award ticket in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

Infants (7 days to under 2 years) cannot be added with miles: an infant ticket on an award booking must be bought with cash. Children aged 2 to 12 need the same number of miles as an adult.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Redeem miles for flights

Does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer offer a round-the-world or multi-city award?

No. Singapore Airlines stopped ticketing the Star Alliance Round The World Award from 1 May 2024 (it cost 200,000 miles in Economy, 280,000 in Business and 405,000 in First), although awards issued before that date stay valid. For a multi-stop trip, the KrisFlyer earning and redeeming FAQ says an award with a complimentary stopover is charged the lower of the sector-by-sector total or the whole-itinerary rate, as long as one award type is used throughout.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Star Alliance Round The World Award

Can I book premium economy awards in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

Yes. Saver Premium Economy awards from Singapore run from 28,000 miles one way to Hong Kong, Taiwan or South China, 39,500 to Japan and Korea, 53,500 to Australia and New Zealand, 74,500 to Europe and 79,000 to 84,500 to the USA (Advantage roughly double). If the flight has no Premium Economy cabin you are seated in Economy for the same miles, and short routes to Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand use the miles calculator.

Source: Singapore Airlines: One-way Saver and Advantage award chart (PDF)

Do awards in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer book into basic economy or a regular fare?

Neither: award tickets come from separate Saver, Advantage and Access award inventory rather than a Lite fare bucket. Economy Saver awards include free standard seat selection and Economy Advantage awards add free Forward Zone seats, and the checked allowance follows the cabin flown.

Source: Singapore Airlines FAQ: Seat selection

What is the minimum number of miles needed to book an award in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

1,000 KrisFlyer miles is the floor for a mix-miles-and-cash booking, and Scoot redemptions start from 1,500 miles for a full Economy award (or 1,000 miles mixing with cash).

Source: Singapore Airlines: Redeem miles for flights

What are the best-value redemptions in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

On the chart since 1 November 2025 the low points are Saver awards on Singapore Airlines itself: 8,000 miles one way in Economy or 22,000 in Business to Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei, 54,500 in Business to Japan or Korea, 72,000 in Business to Australia, 108,500 in Business to Europe and 112,500 to 117,000 in Business to the USA, with Suites/First to Europe at 148,000. Star Alliance round trips start at 18,000 miles. See the award charts.

Source: Singapore Airlines: One-way Saver and Advantage award chart (PDF)

Does flying on an award ticket in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer earn status or miles?

A full award ticket earns nothing. A mix-miles-and-cash ticket earns KrisFlyer miles, Elite miles and PPS Value in proportion to the amount paid by card (excluding taxes); pay entirely in miles and you earn no miles or status.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Mix miles and cash

Can I select seats on an award ticket in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, and is there a charge?

Yes. Elite Silver members get a free Standard seat in Economy on Singapore Airlines whatever the fare type, Elite Gold get a free Forward Zone or Standard seat, and ordinary KrisFlyer members get fare-dependent discounts on advance seat selection.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer Elite benefits

What baggage allowance do I get on an award ticket in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

The allowance follows the cabin you fly and your tier, not the ticket type: 25 to 30 kg in Economy, 35 kg Premium Economy, 40 kg Business and 50 kg Suites/First (two pieces of 23 or 32 kg to and from the US and Canada), plus 10 kg or a piece for Elite Silver and 20 kg or a piece for Elite Gold. The baggage page sets out no separate rule for award tickets.

Redeeming on partner airlines

Which partners can be booked, online versus by phone, and the partner-specific rules.

Which partner airlines can I book with miles from Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

All Star Alliance carriers (Lufthansa, United, ANA, Turkish, Air Canada, EVA, Thai, SWISS and the rest), plus the non-alliance partners Garuda Indonesia, Malaysia Airlines, Virgin Australia and Juneyao Air, and Scoot. Alaska Airlines awards ended on 30 September 2025. Some restrictions apply: ANA domestic is Economy only, and SWISS First and Lufthansa City are not redeemable.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Award tickets on Star Alliance airlines

Which partner awards can be booked online with Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, and which need a phone call?

Star Alliance awards are booked on singaporeair.com (being rolled out to all Star partners progressively), with a Reservation Request form for routings the site cannot build. Awards on Garuda Indonesia, Malaysia Airlines, Virgin Australia and Juneyao Air are made through KrisFlyer Membership Services by phone or form, and the offline fee is waived when a transaction is not available online.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Award tickets on partner airlines

How are partner awards priced in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

Star Alliance awards use a zone-based round-trip chart (one-way is half), from 18,000 miles round trip plus at least US$40 in taxes and fees since 1 November 2025; examples are Southeast Asia 1 at 29,000/57,000/84,000 miles in Economy/Business/First and Europe at 110,000/197,000/251,000. A one-way itinerary with a stopover is priced sector by sector, and backtracking routes are not allowed. Garuda, Malaysia Airlines, Virgin Australia and Juneyao each have their own chart.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Star Alliance round-trip award chart (PDF)

Does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer charge a fee for partner awards?

No booking fee online. The USD 25 (or 2,500-mile) offline service fee is waived when the award cannot be booked on the website, which covers the non-alliance partners booked through Membership Services; taxes, carrier surcharges and fees are still payable on top of the miles.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer service fees

Which partner airlines add fuel surcharges to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer awards?

Singapore Airlines passes on whatever the partner airline imposes: the Star Alliance award rules in the KrisFlyer terms make award tickets subject to any fuel or other surcharges imposed by Singapore Airlines or the other partner airlines, plus departure taxes and airport or government fees, all collected in US dollars or the local currency equivalent at ticketing. Singapore Airlines' fuel and insurance surcharges FAQ adds that it folded these surcharges into the base fare on its own flights progressively from 28 March 2017, while flights on other airlines may still carry them depending on each airline's policy.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Can I combine Singapore Airlines and partner flights on one award in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

On Star Alliance, yes: Singapore Airlines and other Star carriers can sit on one award priced from the Star Alliance chart. For the non-alliance partners it is separate tickets; the Garuda Indonesia FAQ states that SIA and Garuda award flights must be ticketed separately.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer and Garuda Indonesia partnership FAQ (PDF)

Do partner airlines release the same award seats to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer as to their own members?

That is up to each partner: the KrisFlyer terms make Star Alliance award tickets and upgrade awards subject to capacity controls by the partner airline, which decides at its sole discretion how many seats to make available for them. You cannot waitlist those seats either, because the terms allow waitlisting only on Singapore Airlines-operated segments and require every Star Alliance award reservation to be confirmed before ticketing.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Which non-alliance airlines can be booked with Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles?

Garuda Indonesia, Malaysia Airlines, Virgin Australia and Juneyao Air, each with its own award chart (Malaysia Airlines rates effective 2 December 2025, the others 1 November 2025), plus Scoot. Alaska Airlines can no longer be booked since 1 October 2025.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Award tickets on partner airlines

Are stopovers allowed on partner awards in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

Yes on Star Alliance, but a one-way Star Alliance award that includes a stopover is priced by adding up each flight sector rather than the through zone rate, and itineraries that backtrack are not allowed at chart prices.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Star Alliance round-trip award chart (PDF)

Can I use miles to upgrade a partner airline flight through Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

Yes, on Star Alliance carriers in eligible fare classes (usually Y and B in Economy; C, D or J to First on Air China, Air India, ANA, EgyptAir, Lufthansa, SWISS, Thai and United). Requests go through KrisFlyer Membership Services with a confirmed booking; ANA only accepts requests within 56 days of departure and excludes domestic flights, and Thai domestic flights are excluded.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Star Alliance upgrade booking classes (PDF)

Can partner awards booked through Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer be changed or cancelled online?

Not online. Partner awards are handled by KrisFlyer Membership Services, and a date, route, flight or carrier change on a partner Saver award costs USD 50 (versus USD 25 on Singapore Airlines). Waitlists are not offered for Star Alliance bookings or upgrades.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer service fees

Taxes, fees and surcharges on awards

What is added on top of the miles, and which fees can be avoided.

Does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer add fuel surcharges to award tickets on Singapore Airlines?

Singapore Airlines folded fuel and insurance surcharges into its base fares from 28 March 2017, so awards on its own flights show "taxes, charges and fees" rather than a separate YQ line; the award chart says these start from about US$24 one way and must be paid in cash. Surcharges can still appear on partner-operated or codeshare segments.

Source: Singapore Airlines: One-way Saver and Advantage award chart (PDF)

Does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer charge a booking fee for award tickets?

Not online. Booking, changing or upgrading through a Singapore Airlines office or hotline costs USD 25 or 2,500 KrisFlyer miles per transaction, waived for PPS Club members and whenever the transaction is not available online.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer service fees

Does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer charge extra to book an award by phone?

Yes: USD 25 or 2,500 miles per offline redemption, change, upgrade or membership-service transaction. PPS Club members pay nothing, and the fee is also waived when the site cannot do the transaction (partner awards, stopover and upgrade changes).

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer service fees

Does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer charge a close-in or last-minute booking fee for awards?

No. The service fee schedule has no close-in booking charge. The only timing rules are that awards cannot be booked for a nominee within 72 hours of adding or replacing that nominee, and waitlists close three weeks before departure.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer service fees

Which award fees does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer waive for elite members?

PPS Club members skip the USD 25 offline service fee. Changing a redemption nominee costs 3,000 miles or USD 30 for KrisFlyer members, half that for Elite Silver and nothing for Elite Gold, PPS Club and Solitaire PPS Club. Award change and redeposit fees are the same for every tier.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer service fees

How much are the typical taxes and fees on a Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer award ticket?

KrisFlyer awards carry the applicable departure taxes, airport and government fees and any carrier-imposed charges (section I.8); the amount depends on the route and is shown at booking. On a mix-miles-and-cash fare selected taxes can be covered with miles at 100 per SGD 1.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

How does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer handle UK Air Passenger Duty and other high departure taxes on awards?

Like any other departure tax: miles do not cover UK Air Passenger Duty, because the KrisFlyer terms have award tickets, upgrade awards and redemption tickets carry the applicable departure taxes and airport or government fees, paid by credit card and collected in US dollars or the local currency equivalent when the award is ticketed (section I.8). Those taxes are refunded if a completely unused award is cancelled (section I.11).

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Can I pay the taxes and fees on a Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer award with miles?

On a mix-miles-and-cash fare, yes: miles can offset selected taxes, surcharges and ancillaries at 100 miles per SGD 1. On a classic award ticket the terms make the passenger responsible for departure taxes and airport or government fees.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Mix miles and cash

Are taxes and fees refunded if I cancel a Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer award?

Yes. When a wholly unused award ticket is cancelled and the miles redeposited, the terms state that any taxes will be refunded (section I.11).

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

How can I reduce the cash cost of a Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer award?

Book online to avoid the USD 25 offline fee, and note that award taxes cannot be offset with mix-miles-and-cash (that option is only for paid fares, seats and ancillaries). Choose Advantage or Access awards if you may need date changes (free versus USD 25), and Elite Gold or PPS Club status removes the nominee-change fee.

Changes, cancellations and refunds

Fees, deadlines, redeposits, no-shows and what happens when the airline changes the schedule.

What does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer charge to change an award ticket?

A date change costs USD 25 on a Saver award and nothing on Advantage or Access awards; a route, cabin or stopover change is USD 25 on any tier. Changes to partner Saver awards cost USD 50. Changing dates after 1 November 2025 never triggers the new award rates, but changing cabin, route or award type does.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer service fees

What does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer charge to cancel an award ticket and redeposit the miles?

Miles from a completely unused award, upgrade award or redemption ticket can be redeposited for a fee, provided the miles and ticket are still valid; taxes are refunded (section I.11). See our change and cancellation guide.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

How close to departure can I cancel a Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer award?

Before the flight departs. Miles are redeposited for USD 75 (Saver), USD 50 (Advantage or Access) as long as the award and the miles are still valid, but a no-show is charged USD 100 in Economy, USD 200 in Premium Economy and USD 300 in Business or First, and a partly flown award refunds no miles at all.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer service fees

What happens to my miles if I no-show a Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer award?

A confirmed award passenger who does not turn up is treated as a no-show and a no-show fee may be charged (section I.10); redeposit of the miles is then subject to the usual fee and the ticket still being valid.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

How long does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer take to redeposit miles after a cancellation?

Immediately: the FAQ says miles are re-deposited to your account as soon as the refund request is completed. Taxes refunded to a card take about two weeks, and miles from a cancelled KrisFlyer vRooms hotel booking can take six to eight weeks.

Source: Singapore Airlines FAQ: Earning and redeeming KrisFlyer miles

Can I change or cancel a Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer award online, or must I call?

Mostly online: you can change the date, time and even the route of a Singapore Airlines award and cancel waitlisted segments under Manage Booking. Upgrade awards, stopover changes, multi-city bookings and partner awards must go through KrisFlyer Membership Services.

Source: Singapore Airlines FAQ: Earning and redeeming KrisFlyer miles

What are my rights if Singapore Airlines changes the schedule of my award flight?

Section I.12 of the KrisFlyer terms says that in a flight disruption, passengers on award tickets are re-routed under the same rules as fare-paying passengers, so you are entitled to the same rebooking as a cash customer. Date changes you make yourself cost USD 25 on Saver awards and nothing on Advantage or Access awards.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Can I cancel just the return of a round-trip Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer award?

Not for a miles refund. Singapore Airlines cancels bookings whole rather than segment by segment, and its FAQ states that KrisFlyer miles cannot be refunded for partially used award tickets or upgrade awards; only a completely unused award can be redeposited (for a fee), with taxes refunded.

Source: Singapore Airlines FAQ: Cancellations and refunds

Can I change the passenger name on a Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer award?

No. Awards are issued for the member or a registered nominee and are non-endorsable regardless of fare conditions; nominee changes themselves carry a fee, a six-month lock and a 72-hour travel blackout, so a ticket cannot simply be moved to another name.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Are change and cancellation fees waived for Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer elite members?

No. The USD 25 change and USD 50 to 75 redeposit fees apply to every tier; elites only get the nominee-change fee reduced (Elite Silver) or waived (Elite Gold and PPS Club) and PPS Club members skip the offline service fee.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer service fees

Does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer offer a 24-hour free cancellation on awards?

Only under the US rule: tickets for flights to or from the USA booked at least seven days before departure can be cancelled without penalty within 24 hours of booking by contacting Singapore Airlines. There is no general 24-hour free cancellation for awards elsewhere.

Source: Singapore Airlines FAQ: Cancellations and refunds

Are the change and cancellation rules different for partner awards in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

Yes. Partner awards are Saver only, changes cost USD 50 instead of USD 25, no waitlist exists for Star Alliance bookings or upgrades, and changes are handled by Membership Services rather than online. When a partnership ends (Alaska Airlines, 30 September 2025) existing awards stay valid but cannot be changed, only cancelled.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer service fees

If I cancel a Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer award booked with miles that have since expired, do I get them back?

No. Miles are redeposited only if both the ticket and the miles are still valid at the time of redepositing (section I.11); miles that have expired since booking are lost, although taxes are still refunded.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

What does Singapore Airlines do if my award flight is cancelled on the day, and can I be rebooked on partners?

You are treated like a paying passenger: the terms state award-ticket passengers "will be re-routed as per the rules applicable for fare-paying passengers" in a flight disruption, which is how Singapore Airlines handles rebooking onto its own or partner flights. Use the flight disruption self-service page to request a rebooking or a disruption statement.

Award availability

When seats are released, holds, waitlists and how to find space.

How far in advance can I book award tickets in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

Singapore Airlines opens bookings, including redemptions made through the same Book Trip search, up to 355 days before departure and keeps them open until the flight is sold out or closes a few hours before departure. Waitlists for Saver and Advantage awards can be joined until three weeks before the flight.

Source: Singapore Airlines FAQ: Booking online

When does Singapore Airlines release award seats, and are more added closer to departure?

Singapore Airlines' booking FAQ says flights can be booked online up to 355 days before departure, and Saver and Advantage seats can open up at any time after that: the KrisFlyer FAQ says waitlisted award bookings are confirmed automatically whenever seats become available, and Singapore Airlines cannot expedite them. Access seats are over and above the award seats, and how many are offered on each flight depends on demand for that flight.

Source: Singapore Airlines FAQ: Earning and redeeming KrisFlyer miles

Can I put a Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer award on hold before paying?

No holds, but Singapore Airlines awards (Saver and Advantage) can be waitlisted free up to three weeks before departure, with the outcome given at least two weeks out and reminder emails at nine, six, three and one month. Waitlists are not offered for Access redemptions or for Star Alliance bookings and upgrades.

Source: Singapore Airlines FAQ: Waitlist redemption bookings

Does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer have an award waitlist?

Yes. Award and upgrade bookings can be waitlisted; once a waitlisted booking confirms it must be ticketed by the stated deadline or the entire itinerary is cancelled (section I.16). Confirmed bookings must be ticketed immediately.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Do Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer elite members get extra award availability?

PPS Club members receive priority treatment for redemption (alongside priority check-in, boarding and immigration); the Elite Silver and Elite Gold benefit lists do not include any extra award inventory.

Source: Singapore Airlines: PPS Club

Can I redeem miles for any seat on Singapore Airlines, or only for designated award seats?

Both. Saver and Advantage awards are capacity-controlled, but the "Access" redemption option lets you confirm any remaining seat immediately at a variable, demand-based number of miles shown at booking.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Redeem miles for flights

Can I set an alert for Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer award availability?

Not as a seat alert. The nearest thing is the redemption waitlist: you join it online, are confirmed automatically whenever a seat opens, and receive reminder emails at nine, six, three and one month and three weeks before departure until the outcome is final two weeks out.

Source: Singapore Airlines FAQ: Waitlist redemption bookings

Why does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer show award space that will not book?

Singapore Airlines' FAQ gives one KrisFlyer-specific reason: redemption bookings are not available on flights departing within 72 hours of adding or replacing a redemption nominee, so a flight in the coming days cannot be selected for that nominee. On Star Alliance partners, the KrisFlyer terms add that award seats are subject to the partner airline's own capacity controls and every reservation must be confirmed before ticketing, with no waitlist.

Source: Singapore Airlines FAQ: Earning and redeeming KrisFlyer miles

When is the best time to book a Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer award?

Early, and with flexible dates: Singapore Airlines says Saver awards are very popular and availability may be limited, so early planning and flexibility in travel dates and times may be required, while Advantage awards cost more miles but offer more seats on all flights and Access can confirm any available seat even when award seats are fully redeemed. If the award you want is not open, the waitlist FAQ says Saver and Advantage awards can be waitlisted up to three weeks before departure and confirm automatically when seats become available, with a final outcome two weeks before the flight.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Redeem miles for flights

How do I find award seats for a family of four in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

A single online booking on Singapore Airlines can hold up to 9 Economy, 6 Premium Economy, 6 Business or 4 First Class passengers, but partner-airline bookings are capped at 4 in Economy or Premium Economy and 2 in Business or First. Search for the family together, and if seats are short, waitlist the Saver or Advantage award or split into separate bookings.

Upgrades

Using miles to move up a cabin, eligible fares, copays and waitlists.

How do I upgrade an Singapore Airlines flight with miles?

Book an eligible SIA fare (Economy Standard M/H/W or Flexi Y/B/E, Premium Economy S/T/P/L, Business Z/C/J/U) and request a Saver or Advantage upgrade award to Premium Economy, Business, First or Suites; the mileage cost is on the upgrade chart updated 1 November 2025, and upgrades are capacity-controlled with a waitlist.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Redeem miles for flights

Which fares are eligible for a miles upgrade on Singapore Airlines?

Economy tickets in Y, B, E, M, H or W; Premium Economy in S, T, P or L; and Business in Z, C, J or U, excluding industry or agency discount, award and redemption tickets. Economy Lite fares and codeshare tickets cannot be upgraded with miles.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Hotel conversions are weaker still (Marriott Bonvoy 4 miles to 3 points), so flights and upgrades remain the better use; see what KrisFlyer miles are worth.

Can I use miles to extend status or buy tier credit in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

You cannot buy tier credit with miles. Miles due to expire can be extended for a fee (six months for KrisFlyer members, one year for Elite Silver and Gold), but that is a cash fee, not a mileage redemption.

Sharing, pooling and transferring miles

Moving miles between people, family accounts, booking for others and inheritance.

Can I transfer miles to another Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer member, and what does it cost?

Not between ordinary members: transfers to another KrisFlyer account or another frequent flyer programme are not permitted (section D.14). The one exception is a linked Minor's account, which can transfer up to 50,000 miles a year to the parent or guardian.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer offer family pooling or household accounts?

No. Pooling of KrisFlyer miles or status credits is not permitted and each membership may be used by one person only (section D.11). Instead, you nominate up to five people to a Redemption Group and book awards for them from your own balance.

Can I book award tickets for other people with my Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles?

Yes, but only for people in your Redemption Group: you may redeem for yourself or any of up to five registered nominees. Nominees take effect up to six weeks after nomination and cannot be used for travel within 72 hours of being added.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer restrict award bookings to registered family members or nominees?

What happens to miles in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer when a member dies?

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Can Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles be split in a divorce or transferred by court order?

The terms give no mechanism for it: accounts are strictly personal, miles cannot be transferred to another member and are declared not to be personal property, so there is no split or court-ordered transfer process.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Can two Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer members combine miles for one award?

No. Pooling miles across accounts is prohibited (section D.11), so one member must hold the full mileage for an award, topping up with purchased miles only if they already have at least 50%.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Can I manage a child's Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer account from mine?

Yes. A Minor's account (age 2 to 16) can be linked to one parent or guardian aged 16 or over, and miles the child earned from flying can be transferred to the parent, up to 50,000 a year, provided the child has flown SIA, Scoot or a partner in the past 36 months and has no bank or card-converted miles. The link ends when the child turns 16.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Ordinary member-to-member transfers are not allowed at all. The only permitted transfer, from a linked Minor's account to a parent or guardian, is capped at 50,000 KrisFlyer miles per calendar year and is irreversible.

Expiry and reactivation

Whether miles expire, what keeps them alive and how to get them back.

Do Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles expire?

Yes, on a hard three-year clock: miles expire at 23:59 Singapore time on the last day of the month three years after they were earned (one year for contest miles), regardless of activity. PPS Club members' miles never expire while they hold PPS status. See our expiry guide.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

What counts as activity to keep Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles from expiring?

Nothing does. KrisFlyer expiry is not activity-based: each batch of miles expires three years after it was earned no matter how active the account is, so the only options are to redeem them or pay to extend them.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Can expired Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles be reinstated, and at what cost?

No. Miles that have already expired cannot be extended or reinstated (section K.5). Before they expire, a first-time extension for a fee is available: six months for KrisFlyer members, one year for Elite Silver and Gold, requestable up to five months ahead.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Are Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer elite members or cardholders exempt from expiry?

Only PPS Club and Solitaire PPS Club members are exempt: their miles do not expire while they keep PPS status. Elite Silver and Gold miles still expire after three years, though elites can extend expiring miles for one year instead of six months.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

How do I check when my Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles expire?

Log in and open Miles > Miles Validity, which lists expiring batches. From the same screen you can extend them once: 1,200 miles or USD 12 per 10,000 miles buys six extra months for KrisFlyer members and twelve for Elite Silver and Gold.

Source: Singapore Airlines FAQ: KrisFlyer membership

What is the cheapest way to keep Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles active?

Redeem them: a mix-miles-and-cash payment from 1,000 miles, a Scoot award from 1,500 miles, a 1,000-mile charity donation or a Kris+ merchant payment all use miles before they lapse. Otherwise pay the one-off extension fee (six months, or a year for Elite Silver and Gold).

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer close inactive accounts?

Yes. An account with no recorded activity for 45 consecutive months may be closed without notice, and a new account with no activity in its first 24 months may also be closed (section C.1).

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Does a bank transfer or a purchase of miles reset the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer expiry clock?

No, because there is no activity clock to reset: every batch of miles carries its own three-year expiry from the month it was earned, so newly transferred or purchased miles get their own date and do nothing for older ones.

What is the standard checked baggage allowance on Singapore Airlines, and how does status change it?

PPS Club members get the Business Class SilverKris Lounge and Solitaire PPS Club the First Class SilverKris Lounge regardless of cabin; Elite Silver has no lounge access.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer Elite benefits

Can I buy lounge access on Singapore Airlines without status?

Does Singapore Airlines offer free Wi-Fi to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer members?

Yes. All KrisFlyer members, including the free base tier, get unlimited complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi on most Singapore Airlines aircraft.

Do Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer elite benefits extend to a companion on the same booking?

Elite Silver (Star Alliance Silver) gets no lounge access.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer Elite benefits

Do I get elite benefits when flying on an award ticket in Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer?

Yes. Elite privileges are tied to holding active status at check-in and flying Singapore Airlines, not to how the ticket was paid, and the privileges page sets no award exclusion: Elite Gold gets 20 kg extra baggage, free Forward Zone or Standard seats and lounge access, Elite Silver free Standard seats. Economy Saver awards also come with free standard seat selection for everyone.

What is the difference between a codeshare and a Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer partner for earning and redeeming?

Which other frequent flyer programs are best for booking Singapore Airlines flights?

Any Star Alliance airline's programme can book them: Star Alliance says frequent flyers who want to spend their miles or points on another member airline, such as Singapore Airlines, arrange it through their own programme and pay the rates on that programme's Star Alliance award chart. KrisFlyer members also get Singapore Airlines' own award types on its flights: the airline's redeem-miles page lists Saver awards, Advantage awards with a choice of more seats on all flights, and Access, which confirms any available seat even when award seats are fully redeemed.

Program rules, ownership and selling

What the terms say about who owns miles, selling, brokers and enforcement.

Who owns Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles: the member or the airline?

Singapore Airlines. The terms say miles and rewards "do not constitute personal property", the account belongs to the named member but cannot be transferred, and SIA may cancel or reverse miles at its discretion for breaches.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Do the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer terms prohibit selling or bartering miles?

Yes. Section B.2 states a KrisFlyer membership "is strictly personal and only for use by the member. It cannot be transferred, sold or bartered", section D.14 bars transferring miles to other members or programmes, and D.11 bars pooling.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

What can Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer do if it finds miles were sold or awards were bought?

Misuse can lead to termination or suspension of membership or withdrawal of benefits, with SIA reserving the right to claim compensation for damage; a breach of the pooling/personal-use clause lets SIA cancel the account and all miles and status credits, and all accrued miles, rewards and benefits are forfeited without compensation on termination.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Does Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer audit accounts, and what triggers a review?

Yes. Section A.6 lets Singapore Airlines review any member's account and activity at any time, at its sole discretion and without notice, for any purpose including suspected non-compliance, and D.16 lets it cancel or reverse miles earned in breach.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Is it against the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer rules to book an award for someone who pays me for it?

Yes. Awards may only be issued to you or your five registered Redemption Group nominees, and the membership and its benefits cannot be sold or bartered, so taking payment to book someone an award is a breach that can cost the account.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Can Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer change its rules or devalue miles without notice?

Yes. Section A.3 reserves the right to modify the programme structures, benefits and terms "at our sole discretion without prior notice"; SIA says it will use reasonable efforts to notify material changes but members are responsible for keeping up to date.

Source: Singapore Airlines: KrisFlyer terms and conditions

Are Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles taxable?

The KrisFlyer terms say nothing about tax on miles, so any liability depends on your own country's rules. The only tax note Singapore Airlines publishes is that miles donated to Make-A-Wish Singapore or KidSTART Singapore are not tax-deductible in Singapore.

How do I see my Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer activity statement and past redemptions?

Special cases

Infants, unaccompanied minors, pets, medical needs, military and students.

What does an infant cost on a Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer award ticket?

An infant on a KrisFlyer award must be ticketed with cash at the applicable infant fare; miles cannot be used for the infant. From age two a child costs the same miles as an adult.

Source: Singapore Airlines: Redeem miles for flights

Can an unaccompanied minor travel on a Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer award ticket?

The unaccompanied minor service is compulsory for children aged 5 to 11 and optional (with charges) for 12 to 17, and it cannot be added to a website booking, so an award for a child travelling alone has to be arranged through Singapore Airlines with the Unaccompanied Minors Handling form. Children under 5 need prior approval, and any connecting partner flight follows that airline's own rules.

Can I pay pet fees with miles on Singapore Airlines, and do pet fees earn miles?

Pets (cats and dogs only) fly as checked baggage in the temperature-controlled hold, never in the cabin, and are charged as additional baggage outside your free allowance (two extra pieces on US flights) with no pre-paid discount; the pet page does not offer miles as a payment method or say the fee earns miles. Many routes, including Australia, New Zealand, London and Hong Kong, are excluded.
