How to earn Alaska Atmos Rewards miles

Alaska and Hawaiian flights currently earn by distance and fare class: first class 200% of miles flown (100% base plus 100% bonus), Y and B 150%, most other economy fares 100%. Saver fares earn 30% through 31 July 2026 and nothing when booked from 11 June 2026 and flown from 1 August 2026.

From later in 2026 members choose how to earn: 1 point per mile flown, 5 points per dollar spent, or a flat 500 points per segment, switchable once a year.

Partner flights booked on alaskaair.com or hawaiianairlines.com earn 100% of miles flown in economy and 250% in business. Booked elsewhere, economy earns 50% and discount economy 25%.

How to join Alaska Atmos Rewards

Enrol at alaskaair.com. What the program requires and offers:

  • Free to join at alaskaair.com. The enrolment and terms pages load only with JavaScript, so the minimum age and residency rules could not be confirmed.
  • Atmos Rewards replaced Mileage Plan and HawaiianMiles in 2025 and covers both airlines.
  • No welcome bonus for joining; the bonuses sit on the Atmos Rewards Visa cards.

Where else Alaska flights can be credited

  • American Airlines AAdvantage

    Distance times fare class: J 175%, C, D and I 150%, Y, B and H 100%, K, M and L 75%, V, S, N and Q 50%, O and G 25%. Basic Economy (X) earns nothing since 17 December 2025.

  • British Airways Club

    25% to 125% of distance by booking class, from BA's collecting page. Pick it only if you want Avios for short partner awards.

  • Other oneworld programs

    Cathay, JAL, Qantas, Qatar and the rest of oneworld credit Alaska flights by their own fare-class charts; JAL and Qatar list Alaska among earning partners.

Which program should I select for Alaska flights?

Atmos Rewards usually wins on Alaska's own flights: 100% to 200% of distance with no fare minimum, elite bonuses on top, and points that book American, oneworld and 25 other partners. Saver fares earn nothing anywhere after August 2026.

Credit to AAdvantage only when you are chasing American status or flying an expensive fare: the AA chart pays 25% to 75% on discount economy where Atmos Rewards pays 100%.

Once the 2026 earning choice arrives, pick 5 points per dollar if your typical fare costs more than 20 cents a mile (short expensive hops); otherwise stay on distance.

Claiming miles after the flight

Claim window: 12 months; 6 months for BA, Iberia, Qatar, Oman Air.

  • Request credit in the Atmos Rewards account 7 days after an Alaska or Hawaiian flight and at least 14 days after a partner flight.
  • You must have been a member on the day of travel to receive partner points.
  • For partners not in the online form, email a receipt and boarding pass.

Ways to earn miles without flying

Lyft

2 points per dollar on Standard, Priority and XL rides and 3 per dollar on airport, Extra Comfort, Black and Black SUV rides, on the base fare, once the accounts are linked at AlaskaLyft.com; from 2026 rides also earn 1 status point per dollar. Wait & Save and shared rides are excluded, and Lyft allows one airline partner at a time, per Alaska's partner page and Lyft's help article.

Atmos Rewards Shopping and Dining

Portal purchases at 1,100 or more retailers, and up to 5 points per dollar at partner restaurants with a 500-point sign-up bonus, from the earn everyday page.

Groceries and gifts

Carrs-Safeway pays 1 point per dollar in Alaska stores, 1-800-Flowers and Harry & David 25 points per dollar, Teleflora 10.

Surveys and transfers

The Opinion Terminal and e-Rewards surveys pay points, and Bilt and Diners Club points transfer 1:1.

Buy or share points

US$10 per 1,000 points plus a US$25 processing fee, 1,000 minimum and 30,000 per transaction, with periodic bonus sales. Up to 100,000 points a year can be transferred between members.

Atmos Rewards Visa cards

The Atmos Rewards Visa Signature and Summit Visa carry the bonuses. Alaska says Summit cardholders save up to US$25 per person on every round-trip partner award booked with points, in its card announcement.

Earning Alaska Atmos Rewards miles: FAQ

Do Alaska Saver fares earn points?
Only until 31 July 2026, at 30% of miles flown. Saver fares booked from 11 June 2026 and flown from 1 August 2026 earn no Atmos Rewards points, and they earn nothing in AAdvantage or British Airways either.
Can I credit an American flight to Atmos Rewards?
Yes. American flights earn 25% to 200% of distance by fare class when your Atmos Rewards number is on the booking; booked on alaskaair.com they earn at least 100%.
How do I earn Atmos Rewards points with Lyft?
Link the accounts in the Lyft app. Everyday rides earn 2 points per dollar and airport or premium rides 3.
Can I choose to earn by dollars spent instead of distance?
Later in 2026. Alaska announced a choice of 1 point per mile flown, 5 points per dollar, or 500 points per segment, changeable once a year. Until it launches, earning is by distance and fare class.
