How do I join Etihad Guest?
Three ways: fill in the short form at etihad.com/etihadguest/join, tick the join option while booking an Etihad flight, or enrol onboard over the in-flight Wi-Fi. You start earning immediately, but you must verify your email address to complete registration.
Does it cost anything to join Etihad Guest?
Nothing. Etihad Guest is a free account and everyone starts in the Bronze tier, which the tiers page lists as "Free to join".

Is there a minimum age to join Etihad Guest, and can children have their own account?
Anyone aged two or over can join Etihad Guest, so children get their own account and their own miles. Each member needs a unique email address, and a family head can add children of 12 and under to a Family Membership without the child having to accept an invitation.
Where do I find my Etihad Guest membership number?
Log in to your Etihad Guest account at etihad.com/etihadguest/profile: My Account shows your membership number with your miles balance, miles validity and transaction history, and the same number is on the digital Etihad Guest card you receive when you join (Etihad no longer issues plastic cards).
Does Etihad Guest issue a physical membership card, and do I need one?
No. Etihad Guest stopped issuing physical cards; you get a digital Etihad Guest card when you join, and you do not need a card to earn or spend miles.
Does Etihad Airways have an app for managing Etihad Guest, and what can it do?
Yes, the Etihad Airways app handles the whole programme: log in to edit your profile, reset your password, view and pick your Custom and Beyond Benefits, and use Miles on the Go, where you link up to five Visa cards and earn or spend miles at UAE retail, dining and attraction partners.
How do I change the name on my Etihad Guest account after marriage or a legal name change?
You cannot change your name yourself. Submit a request through the Etihad Guest feedback form with a copy of your passport; the same route is used for date-of-birth and email changes.
Can I join Etihad Guest if I live outside the airline's home country?
Yes. The only eligibility rule Etihad publishes is age (two and over); there is no residency requirement, and Miles on the Go accepts Visa cards issued in more than 76 countries including the US, UK, Australia, India, Germany and Japan.
How do I update my email, address or phone number with Etihad Guest?
Log in at etihad.com or in the Etihad app and edit your profile for address and phone changes. An email-address change is treated like a name change: you must send a request through the feedback form with a copy of your passport.
What do I do if I am locked out of my Etihad Guest account?
Use the "Request/Forget Password" option at etihad.com or in the Etihad app. A new password needs at least eight characters with one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number and one special character.
If I join Etihad Guest after a flight, can I still claim miles for it?
Yes, but only for flights taken up to three months before you joined. Send the claim through the Etihad Guest feedback form with copies of your boarding passes.
Does Etihad Airways have a separate program for small businesses, and can I earn in both?
Yes. Companies and organisations are directed to a separate scheme, Etihad for Business, rather than Etihad Guest, which is for individuals aged two and over. The FAQ does not address earning in both on one ticket.

How are miles calculated on Etihad Airways flights: by fare paid, by distance, or by a fixed amount?
By route and fare brand, not by dollars spent: each Etihad sector has a base mileage and your fare brand earns a percentage of it. Economy earns 15% (Basic), 35% (Value), 75% (Comfort) or 125% (Deluxe); Business earns 100%, 150% or 250% for Value, Comfort and Deluxe; First Comfort earns 200% and First Deluxe 300%. How many miles do I earn per dollar (or per mile flown) on Etihad Airways?
Etihad Guest does not pay per dollar. Miles are a percentage of the route's base mileage set by fare brand, from 15% on Economy Basic to 300% on First Deluxe, plus a tier bonus of 25% (Silver), 50% (Gold) or 100% (Platinum and Emerald).

Do basic economy or light fares on Etihad Airways earn miles?
Yes, a little. Economy Basic tickets issued from 18 June 2026 earn 15% of base miles, against 35% for Value, 75% for Comfort and 125% for Deluxe.

What elite bonus do status members earn on Etihad Airways flights?
Silver members earn 25% bonus miles, Gold 50%, and Platinum and Emerald 100% on top of the fare-brand earning.
Do award tickets earn miles or status credit on Etihad Airways?
Saver Award (Promo) seats booked with miles earn no Etihad Guest Miles, and on a miles-plus-cash booking you earn only on the cash portion. Since 13 November 2025, Comfort and Deluxe Promo fares do earn Tier Miles, at 25% and 50% respectively; Value Promo fares earn none.

Which Etihad Airways tickets earn no miles at all?
Saver Award seats paid with miles earn no Etihad Guest Miles, and the miles-paid part of a hybrid miles-and-cash booking earns nothing either. Only flights marketed or operated by Etihad (EY flight numbers) or credited under a partner airline's own earning table qualify.
If I upgrade a ticket on Etihad Airways, do I earn miles on the original fare or the upgraded cabin?
On the original fare. Etihad's upgrade page states that after an airport upgrade "you will only accrue Etihad Guest Miles as per your original ticket".

Do infant or child tickets on Etihad Airways earn miles?
Children can, infants cannot. Anyone aged two or over can join Etihad Guest, so a child with their own membership number earns on their own ticket once the number is added at booking or at airport check-in; a baby under two is below the joining age, so there is no account for an infant ticket to earn into.
How do I add my Etihad Guest number to an existing Etihad Airways booking?
Give your Etihad Guest number when you book, or ask the agent to add it at airport check-in. The name on the booking must match the name on your account, otherwise the miles will not post and you will have to claim them afterwards.

Yes. The Etihad Guest miles calculator shows Etihad Guest Miles and Tier Miles for any route by airline, fare and tier, and has a "Spend miles" mode that prices award seats and upgrades.

Which booking classes on partner airlines earn miles in Etihad Guest, and which earn nothing?
Each partner has its own booking-class table on its Etihad Guest partner page. On Air Canada, Business (J, C, D, Z, P) earns 125% of distance, Premium Economy (O, E, N) 110%, Economy Y, B, M, U, H, Q and V 100%, W, G, S, T, L and A 50%, and K 25%. Flights marketed by Air Canada but operated by another airline, and Air Canada charters, earn nothing.
Do partner airline flights count toward elite status in Etihad Guest?
Not on every partner: Etihad's Air Canada page says flights on Air Canada "are not eligible to earn Etihad Guest Tier Miles" and do not count towards earning or keeping a tier, although they still earn Etihad Guest Miles, and its EL AL and Ethiopian Airlines pages say the same of those airlines' flights. Check the partner's Etihad Guest page before crediting a flight for status.
Does it matter whether a partner flight is ticketed by Etihad Airways or by the partner for Etihad Guest earning?
The flight number matters more than who ticketed it. An EY-coded flight earns as an Etihad flight even if a partner operates it; a flight under the partner's own code earns at that partner's rates from the airline partners page.
Which non-alliance airlines partner with Etihad Guest for earning?
Etihad is not in an alliance, so all 26 partners are bilateral. Outside the three alliances they include JetBlue, Oman Air, Gulf Air, Saudia, Hainan Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, Vietnam Airlines, EL AL, Azul, Air Serbia, SriLankan and Royal Air Maroc.

How long do partner airline flights take to post to Etihad Guest?
About two weeks: Etihad's Ethiopian Airlines page says Etihad Guest Miles are credited within two weeks of the flight. If they do not appear, you can claim them through the missing miles form up to six months from the date of travel.
Do Etihad Guest elite members earn a bonus on partner airline flights?
Yes, on eligible partners. Etihad's announcement of the June 2024 relaunch says Platinum members earn 100% bonus Etihad Guest Miles "when flying with us or any of our eligible airline partners", so the tier bonus is not limited to Etihad-operated flights.
Where does Etihad Airways publish the partner earning charts for Etihad Guest?
The airline partners page under Our Partners lists all 26 carriers with earn and spend tabs, and the miles calculator gives the exact Etihad Guest Miles and Tier Miles for a partner route once you select the airline.

Can I earn miles on trains, buses or ferries through Etihad Guest?
No. Etihad sells Rail & Fly connections on Deutsche Bahn, SNCF, Trenitalia and UK operators such as Great Western and Heathrow Express, but the Rail & Fly page lists no Etihad Guest earning on the train leg and no rail operator appears among the programme's earning partners; miles come from the flight only.

How long after a flight can I claim missing miles from Etihad Guest?
For partner transactions, contact the partner within six months. Flights taken before you joined can be claimed only if they were within three months of enrolment. The FAQ gives no separate deadline for Etihad flights taken after joining; see the missing miles guide.
How do I file a missing miles claim with Etihad Guest?
Log in to your Etihad Guest account, choose "claim missing miles" and complete the form, or send the Etihad Guest feedback form with copies of your boarding passes.
What information does Etihad Guest need for a missing miles claim?
Copies of your boarding passes, plus the booking details from the claim form. The name on the ticket must match your Etihad Guest account.
How do I claim missing miles for a partner airline flight in Etihad Guest?
Partner airline claims use the same "claim missing miles" form as Etihad flights, with the boarding pass and ticket as supporting documents. For non-airline partners (hotels, cards, shopping), contact the partner within six months of the transaction.
Can I claim miles for flights taken before I joined Etihad Guest?
Yes, for flights taken up to three months before you joined. Submit the feedback form with your boarding passes; anything older than three months cannot be claimed.
Will Etihad Guest credit a flight if the name on the ticket does not exactly match my account?
Etihad requires the booking name to match the name in your account for miles to credit. If your legal name has changed, fix the account first via the feedback form with a passport copy, then claim.

Which banks issue Etihad Guest credit cards, and in which countries?
Etihad Guest co-brand cards are issued by UAE banks; the earn page features the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) Etihad Guest card with up to 100,000 miles, and the programme refers to an Etihad Guest Visa. Selected cards also earn Tier Miles on spend. There is no US-issued Etihad card; US members rely on bank transfer partners instead.

How many miles per dollar do Etihad Guest credit cards earn?
Not per dollar: Etihad Guest co-brand cards are issued outside the US and earn per unit of local spend. FAB's UAE Infinite card earns up to 7 miles per AED 10 on flights with Etihad and airline partners, 6 on international spend and 3.5 in the UAE; the Signature earns 5.5, 4.5 and 2.75 and the Platinum 4, 3.5 and 2. Each adds 2.5 Tier Miles per AED 10, and an optional Miles Accelerator at AED 250 a month lifts the rates to 7.5, 6.5 or 5.5 miles per AED 10.
What sign-up bonus do Etihad Guest credit cards typically offer?
The headline offer on Etihad's earn page is up to 100,000 miles with the ADIB Etihad Guest card in the UAE (as of 2026). Offers vary by bank and country.

Can credit card spending earn elite status or tier credit in Etihad Guest?
Yes. Spend on selected Etihad Guest credit cards earns Tier Miles as well as Etihad Guest Miles, and cardholders who fall short of requalifying can buy back Silver for 75,000 Etihad Guest Miles or Gold for 150,000. The flying portion of each tier (10,000 to 40,000 Tier Miles) still has to come from flights.
Which bank points transfer to Etihad Guest, and at what ratio?
Capital One miles and Bilt Points both transfer to Etihad Guest at 1:1 (Capital One needs at least 1,000 miles per transfer), and Citi ThankYou also lists Etihad Guest among its airline partners, at a rate that depends on your card. Marriott Bonvoy converts at 3 points to 1 mile. See transfer partners.
How long do bank point transfers to Etihad Guest take?
Bilt says transfers to its airline partners, Etihad Guest included, are immediate in most cases but can take up to 48 hours, and once points are moved they cannot be reversed. Capital One and Citi publish no transfer time on their partner pages, so move points only when the award seat is in front of you.

Can I transfer miles back out of Etihad Guest to a bank program?
Not to a bank. Etihad Guest does offer a Points Exchange that turns miles into points with certain partner loyalty programmes, but bank transfers into the programme are one-way.

Does Etihad Guest run transfer bonuses from bank programs?
Yes, Etihad runs its own points-exchange bonuses. From 15 May to 15 June 2026 it paid 10% extra on transfers of up to 9,999 miles, 20% on 10,000 to 49,999 and 40% on 50,000 or more, from 23 programmes, mostly Gulf banks plus HSBC, Livelo, World of Hyatt, Accor and Smiles by e&; Capital One, Citi and Bilt were not on the list. Bonus miles post within 30 business days of the campaign ending, and a transfer cannot be reversed once requested.
Must the bank account and Etihad Guest account be in the same name for a transfer?
Yes for Capital One: its transfer-partner page says the name on your Capital One account has to match the name on your travel loyalty account, so the Etihad Guest account must be your own. Transfers to Etihad Guest are 1:1 with a 1,000-mile minimum.
Do Etihad Guest credit cards have annual fees, and what perks offset them?
Yes. In India, the BOBCARD Etihad Guest Premium card costs INR 4,999 plus taxes a year, refunded if you spend INR 500,000 in the first year, and the standard card INR 2,500, refunded at INR 300,000. The offsetting perks: a fast track to Gold on the Premium card after a first etihad.com purchase of at least INR 10,000 (Silver on the standard card after any first etihad.com purchase), 12 domestic and 8 international lounge visits a year on the Premium card (8 and 4 on the standard), no foreign-exchange markup, and welcome miles.
Do any Etihad Guest credit cards include a companion fare or free flight certificate?
UAE co-brand cards issue flight vouchers rather than a companion fare. Vouchers already issued remain valid until their expiry date and can be used on Value Economy or Comfort Business and First Promo fares.
Can I get a Etihad Guest credit card if I live outside the United States?
Yes, where a partner bank issues one: Etihad Guest co-brand cards come from banks outside the US, such as FAB in the UAE, whose Infinite, Signature and Platinum Etihad Guest cards earn up to 7, 5.5 or 4 miles per AED 10 on Etihad and airline partner spend. The top two also fast-track you to Gold or Silver after one return flight within six months.

Yes. The Etihad Guest shopping portal at shopping.etihad.com has 300-plus online retailers that earn miles when you click through, and GuestPay at shopping.etihadguest.com lets you pay partner retailers with a mix of miles and cash.

Does Etihad Guest have a dining rewards program?
Through Miles on the Go in the Etihad app. Link a Visa card and earn one Etihad Guest Mile and one Tier Mile per AED 3 (minimum AED 50 spend) at UAE dining, retail and attraction partners such as Yas Mall, Ferrari World and Fairmont Bab al Bahr; miles post within two weeks.

Which hotel chains earn miles in Etihad Guest, and can hotel points be converted?
Etihad says miles are earned at 300,000 hotels when you add your membership number at booking, and a co-branded Booking.com site pays 3 to 6 miles per USD 1, credited 8 to 12 weeks after the stay. Promotions such as Rotana's 20% bonus (15 September to 15 October 2026) appear on the programme offers page.
Which car rental companies earn miles in Etihad Guest?
Car rentals booked through Etihad's CarTrawler site, etihad.cartrawler.com, earn 1 Etihad Guest Mile per US dollar spent, credited after the rental is completed; CarTrawler's confirmation names the rental supplier. Airport transfers booked on the same site earn at the same rate.
Can I buy miles from Etihad Guest, at what price, and is there a yearly cap?
Yes, but Etihad's own pages give different limits: the Accelerate your miles page says you can buy up to 200,000 miles a year, or 300,000 if you are Platinum, while the Etihad Guest FAQ says 100,000, or 150,000 for Platinum, so check the limit shown when you buy. Paying with the Etihad Guest Visa earns miles on the purchase. MilesBooster separately lets you multiply miles from flights in the past 12 months by up to three times, capped at 150,000 extra miles a year.
Can I gift miles to another Etihad Guest member?
Yes. The spend miles page offers Miles Transfer to "share your miles with other Etihad Guest members" from your profile, and Reward Shop items can be delivered to a non-member as a gift.

Are there phone, internet, energy or subscription partners that earn miles in Etihad Guest?
Yes, through points exchange rather than bill payments: Smiles by e&, the rewards programme of UAE telecom group e&, converts at 8 Smiles points to 1 Etihad Guest Mile, and ADNOC Rewards convert at 110 points to 1 mile. Etisalat was also among the programmes in Etihad's October 2025 points-exchange bonus.
Can I earn miles on fuel or groceries with Etihad Guest?
Not directly. Miles on the Go covers UAE malls, hotels and attractions rather than petrol or supermarkets, so the route for everyday shopping is converting a coalition scheme: Air Miles Middle East points move to Etihad Guest at up to nine Air Miles per mile, and in India Flipkart and Swiggy orders earn miles since January 2026.

Can I earn miles on Airbnb, vacation rentals or cruises with Etihad Guest?
Not Airbnb, but hotels and holiday rentals booked through Etihad's co-branded Booking.com site earn 3 to 6 miles per USD 1 depending on the property.
Where does Etihad Guest list its current earning promotions?
On the Programme Offers page. As of September 2026 it lists 20% bonus miles at Rotana hotels (15 September to 15 October 2026), double miles on JetBlue flights to 30 November 2026, 31 miles per AED 100 at Samsung.com via GuestPay, and a Wio savings account paying 1 mile per AED 1 saved.

What are the elite status tiers in Etihad Guest?
Five: Bronze (entry), Silver, Gold, Platinum and Emerald, the invitation-style top tier introduced for members spending USD 150,000 a year on flights.

How do I qualify for elite status in Etihad Guest: by spending, segments, distance or points?
By Tier Miles, earned on Etihad and partner flights, co-brand card spend and other partners, with a minimum share that must come from flying. Emerald is the exception: it requires USD 150,000 of flight spend with Etihad or its partners in 12 months.

What are the qualification thresholds for each Etihad Guest tier?
To reach a tier: Silver 25,000 Tier Miles (10,000 from flying), Gold 50,000 (20,000 flying), Platinum 125,000 (40,000 flying), Emerald USD 150,000 flight spend. Until 31 March 2027 Etihad has cut these by 25%, to 18,750, 37,500 and 93,750. Keeping a tier needs less: 20,000, 40,000 and 100,000 (15,000, 30,000 and 75,000 under the reduction).

When does the Etihad Guest qualification year start and end, and how long does status last?
There is no calendar year: you qualify on Tier Miles earned in any rolling 12 months, and the tier is then valid for 12 months from the month you qualify. Custom Benefits must be picked within 30 days of the tier starting.

Do partner airline flights count toward Etihad Guest status?
Yes, with exceptions. Tier Miles from partner airlines count towards Silver, Gold and Platinum, including the flying portion of each threshold, but several of Etihad's partner pages, including those for Air Canada, EL AL and Ethiopian Airlines, say flights on those airlines earn no Tier Miles. Emerald's USD 150,000 spend test also counts flights with partners.
Does Etihad Guest offer a status match or status challenge?
Yes, as a paid match through etihad.statusmatch.com, open to residents of India, Australia and the GCC who hold elite status with airlines such as Emirates, Qatar, British Airways, Singapore or Virgin Australia. It grants Silver or Gold (never Platinum) for four months (six in Australia), extendable by 12 months after one Etihad return flight; India pays USD 59 for Silver or USD 99 for Gold, and each person can be matched only once. Etihad also runs periodic fast-track promotions.
Does Etihad Guest offer lifetime or million-miler status?
No. Every tier above Bronze is valid for 12 months from the month you qualify and must be re-earned each year; Etihad publishes no lifetime, million-miler or permanent status, and even Emerald is an invitation renewed on USD 150,000 of annual spend.

If I fall short of requalifying, does Etihad Guest drop me one tier or all the way?
Etihad publishes no soft landing: a tier lasts 12 months and lapses if you miss the retention threshold. The cushions it offers instead are a one-time Custom Benefit that extends your tier by six months, and for co-brand cardholders a buy-back of Silver for 75,000 miles or Gold for 150,000, applied for within two months of expiry and at least 14 days before.

The tiers page shows the checked allowance rising with status: 1 bag for Bronze, 2 for Silver and Gold, 3 for Platinum and Emerald, and extra baggage is also one of the selectable Custom Benefits.

Which Etihad Guest tiers get lounge access, and where?
Gold, Platinum and Emerald get Etihad lounge access worldwide, but not partner lounges. At Zayed International Airport lounge access is only for members on Etihad-operated flights. Silver members can pick lounge passes as a Custom Benefit.

Do Etihad Guest elite members get complimentary upgrades, and how are they prioritised?
Complimentary upgrades are a Platinum and Emerald benefit, and only on Etihad flights to or from Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Qassim, Dammam, Cairo, Tel Aviv, Kuwait, Bahrain, Doha, Muscat, Amman, Beirut, Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. Upgrade vouchers are also among the Custom and Beyond Benefits members can choose.

Do Etihad Guest elite members get free seat selection or extra-legroom seats?
Silver gets free Economy seat selection and higher tiers extend that to premium seat types; Deluxe fares include a preferred seat for anyone. Extra-legroom seats are not free by tier on the published table.

Which fees does Etihad Guest waive for elite members?
Etihad does not waive fees across the board; instead Silver and above choose Custom Benefits, which include a refund or cancellation waiver (request at least 24 hours before departure, not on upgraded tickets), a discount on excess baggage that must be pre-purchased on etihad.com, and free or discounted seat selection. Gold gets 25% off Wi-Fi and Platinum and Emerald get it free.

What do Etihad Guest tiers map to in the alliance (Star Alliance Gold, oneworld Emerald, SkyTeam Elite Plus)?
They do not map to anything: Etihad is not in Star Alliance, oneworld or SkyTeam. Tier recognition on other airlines is bilateral, and the tiers page details benefits only on Etihad, Virgin Australia, Saudia, Gulf Air and Air Serbia.

Can elite benefits in Etihad Guest be shared with family or a companion?

No. Renewal is judged on "the 12-month period that ends with your current tier end date", so Tier Miles above the threshold simply lapse when the new tier year begins.

Etihad passes them on rather than absorbing them: its partner pages state that reward values "are exclusive of taxes, fuel surcharge and other charges", which are paid separately, as on Ethiopian Airlines awards. The pages do not quote the amounts, so the cash cost shows only when you price the booking.
Can I combine Etihad Airways and partner flights on one award in Etihad Guest?
Not on a partner award: Etihad's Air Canada page says those rewards are only valid on Air Canada-operated flights booked under the AC code and not on codeshare flights, so an Etihad flight or another partner's flight needs a separate award.
Do partner airlines release the same award seats to Etihad Guest as to their own members?
Broadly yes at saver level: since Etihad opened a dedicated Etihad Guest booking centre, agents see the same saver-level partner inventory that tools such as ExpertFlyer show (tested on American Airlines). Changes cannot be made online. Does Etihad Guest add fuel surcharges to award tickets on Etihad Airways?
Yes. Etihad's member-deal terms for Promo seats say the discount applies to the base fare only and "Surcharges apply", with airport taxes confirmed at the time of booking, so an Etihad award carries surcharges and taxes in cash on top of the miles.
Which award fees does Etihad Guest waive for elite members?
None automatically. The only route is the "Refund or cancellation waiver" that Silver and higher tiers can pick as a Custom Benefit: it must be requested at least 24 hours before the first unflown flight and does not apply to tickets upgraded with miles. Wi-Fi is the other tier break, with Gold paying 25% less and Platinum and Emerald getting it free.

How does Etihad Guest handle UK Air Passenger Duty and other high departure taxes on awards?
No award-specific relief: APD is collected on any UK departure. The one concession on Etihad's tax refund page is that Economy passengers aged 12 to 16 are exempt and can claim a full APD refund, and Indian GST (K3) is refundable only if the refund request lands before the financial-year cut-off.

Can I change the passenger name on a Etihad Guest award?
You cannot move an award to a different person: tickets are non-transferable. Typing errors of up to three characters and title fixes are corrected free through the contact centre, and a genuine change for the same passenger (married name, added middle name or surname) costs USD 100, once per ticket.

Etihad's Ethiopian Airlines page says date changes and cancellations on partner reward tickets follow the Etihad Guest Terms and Conditions, so the programme's rules apply rather than a separate partner policy. Partner reward tickets are valid for up to one year from the original date of issue, and name changes are not permitted.
What does Etihad Airways do if my award flight is cancelled on the day, and can I be rebooked on partners?
If Etihad cancels your flight it automatically rebooks you on the next available Etihad flight and emails the options; for cancellations more than three days out the alternatives appear in Manage Trip. Can expired Etihad Guest miles be reinstated, and at what cost?
No. Once Etihad Guest Miles expire they cannot be reinstated at any price, and since June 2024 only a flight on Etihad or a partner airline resets the 18-month clock, so the only protection is to fly or reach Platinum, whose miles never expire.

There is no standby or same-day change product, and late changes cost more: changes or cancellations within 96 hours of a paid flight carry an extra 10% fee on top of the fare rules, and award tickets cannot be changed or cancelled at all within 72 hours of departure, whatever your tier.

Which joint ventures is Etihad Airways part of, and what do they mean for Etihad Guest members?
Etihad launched two joint ventures in 2025, with China Eastern and Ethiopian. The China Eastern venture began with China Eastern's first Shanghai-Abu Dhabi flight on 28 April 2025 (daily from 12 September 2025), and from 1 June 2025 Etihad Guest and Eastern Miles members can earn and redeem miles across both airlines' networks. A separate Etihad release from October 2025 says the Ethiopian venture, signed in March 2025, added a codeshare in July and a frequent flyer partnership that lets members earn and redeem miles on Ethiopian flights.

Added: Condor, announced December 2025 with earning and redemption on its Frankfurt and Berlin to Abu Dhabi flights from May and June 2026, and Hong Kong Airlines in February 2026, plus a wave of Indian retail partners in January 2026. Lost: American Express Membership Rewards stopped transferring to Etihad Guest on 30 June 2026.

Etihad works through booking partners rather than chain programmes: a co-branded Booking.com site (3 to 6 miles per USD 1), the travel rewards hotel site for redemptions, and chain promotions such as Rotana's 20% bonus in autumn 2026.

Does Etihad Guest have rail partners?
Only as codeshares, not as earning partners. Deutsche Bahn (W2) and AccesRail (9B) appear on Etihad's codeshare list and power the Rail & Fly product from Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, Rome, Heathrow and Manchester, but neither rail operator earns or redeems Etihad Guest Miles.

American AAdvantage is the obvious one: AA members earn on Etihad-marketed and operated flights across most booking codes and can book Etihad awards on aa.com. The catch is timing, because Etihad releases its First and Business award seats to partner programmes only 30 days before departure; further out, only Etihad Guest itself can book them.

What can Etihad Guest do if it finds miles were sold or awards were bought?
Etihad's help centre confirms it can suspend an Etihad Guest account: while suspended you cannot use Etihad Wallet on etihad.com or in the app, though your balances remain unchanged. The programme terms that would set out specific penalties for sold miles or bought awards are not published on etihad.com, whose legal pages carry only the general site terms; Etihad's US customer service plan says the program rules are available on request from its contact centre.
Does Etihad Guest audit accounts, and what triggers a review?
Family Membership accounts "may be audited randomly", and you can be asked to prove each member's relationship to you; the same passport-based checks apply to name and email changes.
Can Etihad Guest change its rules or devalue miles without notice?
Etihad reserves that right at least for its offers: the tiers page says of the 25% cut in tier thresholds (18 March 2026 to 31 March 2027) that "Etihad Guest reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel this offer at any time without prior notice", and that all other Etihad Guest Programme Terms and Conditions apply. Notice of programme-wide changes has varied: Etihad's newsroom announced the June 2024 relaunch, which changed award prices, tier rules and how miles stay valid, on 22 February 2024, while its 13 November 2025 release rebranding GuestSeat as Saver Award presented those changes as already in place.

What does an infant cost on a Etihad Guest award ticket?
On partner awards such as EL AL and Condor it costs the same as an adult: their Etihad Guest pages say a reward ticket for a child or infant "will be charged the adult mileage value" and must be in the same booking as the accompanying adult, with taxes, fuel surcharge and other charges paid on top.

Can an unaccompanied minor travel on a Etihad Guest award ticket?
The Unaccompanied Minor service covers children aged 5 to 17 on any confirmed booking, requested by form at least 24 hours before departure; it is free for ages 5 to 11 booked in advance and USD 100 each way direct or USD 150 connecting for 12 to 17-year-olds or late requests. Etihad's page sets no exclusion for award tickets.
Can I pay pet fees with miles on Etihad Airways, and do pet fees earn miles?
Yes. A cat or dog costs USD 399 in Economy (or an extra seat plus USD 399 in Business), a falcon USD 500 per cage as checked baggage, and "You can pay for this fee using Etihad Guest Miles by calling our Contact Centre". Etihad does not say the fee earns miles.

Does Etihad Guest offer military, veteran or government member benefits?
Etihad's published military offer is a fare discount for the UAE forces: Homat Al Watan card holders (UAE Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces) get up to 15% off the base fare in Economy, Business and First on one-way and return trips booked by 31 December 2026 for travel by 31 May 2027. Taxes and surcharges are not discounted, multi-city trips and stopovers are excluded, and the offer page does not tie it to Etihad Guest membership.

Are there special award rules for medical or bereavement travel in Etihad Guest?
Etihad waives change and refund fees "in the unfortunate event of the death of a guest or an immediate family member", with official documentation. There is no separate medical award fare.
How do I request wheelchair or accessibility assistance on a Etihad Guest award booking?
Request it at least 48 hours before departure through Manage Trip at etihad.com/manage, the WhatsApp assistant, live chat or the contact centre. Guests needing assistance can then select a seat free of charge, and your own wheelchair travels free on top of the baggage allowance.
Can I book group awards for more than nine people in Etihad Guest?
Not online: bookings on etihad.com are capped at nine guests, and groups of 10 or more must contact Etihad's sales office.

Etihad's help pages list three recent changes: its Etihad Guest FAQ says Promo seat awards moved to Value, Comfort and Deluxe fares in June 2025; its fares page says Promo fares were updated again from 13 November 2025, with Comfort earning 25% of Tier Miles and Deluxe 50% (Value earns none); and Economy Basic tickets issued from 18 June 2026 earn 15% of base miles. Separately, its tiers page says tier thresholds are cut by 25% until 31 March 2027.

Has Etihad Guest changed its name or currency recently?
No. The programme is still Etihad Guest and the currency is still Etihad Guest Miles; the renaming has been to awards. On 13 November 2025 Etihad rebranded GuestSeat awards as Saver Awards, fixed-price seats for members only. Etihad's FAQ, which still calls them Promo seats, says they have come as Value, Comfort and Deluxe fares since June 2025, and older award bookings that are changed move to Value (Economy) or Comfort (Business and First).
When did Etihad Guest last devalue its award prices?
Etihad has not announced a devaluation as such. The repricing in its 22 February 2024 announcement of the June 2024 relaunch went the other way, cutting GuestSeat prices by nearly 30%, with Economy from 5,000 miles and Business from 15,000; Abu Dhabi-London in Economy fell to 30,000 miles and Jeddah-Abu Dhabi in Business to 20,000.
What changes has Etihad Guest announced for the coming year?
The 25% reduction in tier thresholds (Silver 18,750, Gold 37,500, Platinum 93,750 Tier Miles to qualify) runs until 31 March 2027, after which the standard 25,000, 50,000 and 125,000 levels are due to return.

Through announcements on etihad.com's news pages, sometimes months ahead: the June 2024 relaunch, which cut GuestSeat prices, dropped Tier Segments and let flying on Etihad or its partners extend miles by 18 months, was announced on 22 February 2024. The release does not say how individual members were told.
What changed most recently in how Etihad Guest elite status is earned?
Two things: in June 2024 Tier Miles replaced tier segments as the sole status metric and the Emerald spend tier was added, and for the period to 31 March 2027 all Tier Mile thresholds are reduced by 25%.
