How do I join ANA Mileage Club?
Enrol online with the Join ANA Mileage Club form linked from ANA's sign-up page, which lists award flights on ANA and partners, upgrade awards, shopping, hotel stays and car rentals among the ways to use membership. During enrolment you choose a digital membership card for your smartphone or a physical card, which arrives in 3 to 4 weeks.
Does it cost anything to join ANA Mileage Club?
No. The standard ANA Mileage Club Card has no initial fee and no annual fee; only the optional ANA Card credit cards, which combine membership with a credit card, carry fees.
Is there a minimum age to join ANA Mileage Club, and can children have their own account?
ANA's terms set no minimum age for membership and treat children as members in their own right: Article 8 says child members aged 2 to 11 accrue miles on the same basis as adults. An infant under 2 earns nothing when travelling without a seat, but earns at the adult rate when occupying a seat on a ticket.

Where do I find my ANA Mileage Club membership number?
Your 10-digit ANA Mileage Club number is shown on screen as soon as you finish registering, and the digital ANA Mileage Club Card is available straight away. You can quote the number to earn miles before the physical card arrives three to four weeks later.
Does ANA Mileage Club issue a physical membership card, and do I need one?
You choose when you enrol: a digital card you download to your smartphone, or a physical card, which arrives 3 to 4 weeks after you select it. The physical card is optional, and the ANA Mileage Club app can be used to register miles when you book flights or log in.
Does ANA have an app for managing ANA Mileage Club, and what can it do?
Yes. ANA's sign-up page offers a digital membership card you download to your smartphone, and points members to the ANA Mileage Club app to register their miles when booking flights or logging in.
How do I change the name on my ANA Mileage Club account after marriage or a legal name change?
By phone: for an ANA Mileage Club Card, digital card included, the member must call the ANA Mileage Club Service Center personally. ANA accepts changes to the last name, such as after marriage, while a first-name change needs a call and supporting documents. You then choose a new physical card, mailed in about 2 to 3 weeks (3 to 4 weeks outside Japan), or the digital card; processing takes several days with no confirmation when it is done, and ANA Card holders must also change the name with their card issuer.
I accidentally created two ANA Mileage Club accounts. Can they be merged?
Each member may use only one Mileage Account. Under Article 4 of the terms, if ANA finds you hold more than one it can integrate them, and miles from a single transaction that were credited to more than one account are corrected without notice.

How do I close my ANA Mileage Club account, and what happens to my miles?
You withdraw by notifying ANA of your intention (Article 18). At that moment all your miles, ANA SKY COINS, Diamond, Platinum, Bronze or Super Flyers qualification and any award reservations expire immediately (Article 22), so redeem or use them first. ANA can also cancel a membership on its own if no miles have accrued for 3 consecutive years (Article 19).

Can I join ANA Mileage Club if I live outside the airline's home country?
Yes. ANA's US website has its own online sign-up form for ANA Mileage Club, and the sign-up page sets no residency requirement; members choose a digital card or a physical card mailed within 3 to 4 weeks.
How do I update my email, address or phone number with ANA Mileage Club?
Email addresses are registered or changed through ANA's Registration/Change of E-mail Address Dedicated Form, which is also the fix if you cannot receive password-reset emails. For problems confirming your identity or other registered details, ANA refers members to the ANA Mileage Club Service Center.

What do I do if I am locked out of my ANA Mileage Club account?
Use ANA's Forgotten Your Web Password/AMC Password procedure, which covers both the web password and the 4-digit AMC password. If you have a registered email address, ANA sends a reset link after confirming your identity, valid for 2 hours; if not, a reset postcard goes to your registered mailing address (about 1 to 2 weeks within Japan). If identity confirmation fails, contact the ANA Mileage Club Service Center.

If I join ANA Mileage Club after a flight, can I still claim miles for it?
No. ANA says mileage cannot be accrued for flights boarded before joining ANA Mileage Club, so enrol before you fly. Once you are a member, a flight that does not credit automatically can be registered retroactively within six months, counted from the afternoon of the day after departure (Japan time).
Does ANA have a separate program for small businesses, and can I earn in both?
ANA's corporate membership program is ANA ProFlyers Bonus (APF), for international flights ticketed in Japan: the company earns 1 APF point per ¥50,000 of adult standard and regular discounted fares on international flights from Japan on ANA, Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian and (to the Americas) United, up to ¥5 million of travel a quarter, and redeems points for e-gifts such as Amazon, nanaco and Starbucks cards from 1 point (about ¥1,000). Yes, you can earn in both: ANA's APF FAQ says employees still earn their own ANA Mileage Club miles on those flights, under the normal accrual conditions.

Earning on ANA flights
What a ticket earns, which fares are excluded, elite bonuses and posting times.
How are miles calculated on ANA flights: by fare paid, by distance, or by a fixed amount?
By distance. ANA's formula is basic sector mileage times the accrual rate for your booking class, so the fare paid does not matter, only how far you flew and in which booking class: full-fare economy (Y) earns 100% of the sector mileage, while L or K economy earns 30%.
How many miles do I earn per dollar (or per mile flown) on ANA?
ANA pays per mile flown, not per dollar: you earn 30% to 150% of the basic sector mileage depending on booking class. First (F, A) and J business earn 150%, C, D and Z business 125%, premium economy G and E and economy Y, B and M 100%, and the cheapest economy classes L and K 30%. See the earning guide.

Do basic economy or light fares on ANA earn miles?
ANA's accrual table has no basic-economy product, and its cheapest economy booking classes still earn: L and K accrue 30% of sector mileage and V, W, S and T 50%. Tickets booked in classes O, I, R and X, and special discount tickets, earn nothing.

What elite bonus do status members earn on ANA flights?
Premium Members earn flight bonus miles on top of the base accrual: up to 55% for Bronze, up to 105% for Platinum and up to 130% for Diamond.
How long after a flight do miles post to my ANA Mileage Club account?
Miles for ANA international flights are credited two to three days after the departure date, provided your 10-digit membership number was on the booking. Codeshare flights can take up to a month.
Do award tickets earn miles or status credit on ANA?
No. ANA lists award tickets among the tickets that earn no miles, and its page on when miles can and cannot be earned says both Japan domestic and international flight awards are not eligible for mileage accrual.
Which ANA tickets earn no miles at all?
ANA lists complimentary tickets, award tickets and special discount tickets as earning no miles, along with any booking in classes O, I, R and X. Everything else on ANA international flights earns between 30% (L and K) and 150% (F, A and J) of sector mileage.

Do taxes, fees and surcharges on an ANA ticket earn miles?
No. ANA calculates miles as basic sector mileage times the accrual rate for the booking class, so the amount paid, including taxes, fees and surcharges, plays no part; only distance and fare class count.

If I upgrade a ticket on ANA, do I earn miles on the original fare or the upgraded cabin?
On the original fare. When you use an ANA International Upgrade Award, both the miles and the Premium Points are calculated on the class of service of the ticket you originally bought, not the cabin you end up flying.
Do infant or child tickets on ANA earn miles?
Children aged 2 to 11 accrue miles on the same basis as adults (12 and over). An infant under 2 earns nothing when travelling on a lap without a seat, but an infant who occupies a seat on their own ticket accrues miles at the adult rate.

Do group bookings, tour packages or charter flights on ANA earn miles?
Tour fares and ANA charters do. On ANA international flights, package tour fares and international inclusive tour fares earn at the normal booking-class rates, and charter flights earn 50% of basic sector mileage (70% in booking class P), but only if ANA operates them. ANA's mileage accrual conditions for partner airlines list charter flights among the tickets that earn nothing on partners.

How do I add my ANA Mileage Club number to an existing ANA booking?
Book with your 10-digit ANA Mileage Club membership number, or register it on the day of departure at a self-service check-in machine or check-in counter. If it was missed, log in to the member site and use Retroactive Registration after the flight.

Which airlines can I credit to ANA Mileage Club?
All 25 Star Alliance airlines ANA lists (Aegean, Air Canada, Air China, Air India, Air New Zealand, Asiana, Austrian, Avianca, Brussels Airlines, Copa, Croatia Airlines, EgyptAir, Ethiopian, EVA Air, ITA Airways, LOT, Lufthansa, Shenzhen Airlines, Singapore Airlines, South African Airways, SWISS, TAP Air Portugal, Thai, Turkish Airlines and United), Star Alliance connecting partner Juneyao Airlines, and nine other partners: Air Dolomiti, Air Macau, Etihad, Eurowings, Olympic Air, Philippine Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, Vietnam Airlines and Virgin Australia. Asiana flights earn only until October 15, 2026.
How are miles calculated on partner airline flights credited to ANA Mileage Club?
By distance: basic mileage for the flight times the accrual rate for the fare type, and the rates differ by partner airline and by the eligible booking class on the boarding date. Complimentary tickets, award tickets, special discount tickets and charter flights earn nothing.
Which booking classes on partner airlines earn miles in ANA Mileage Club, and which earn nothing?
Each partner has its own table, and any booking class not listed earns nothing. On United, for example, business J earns 150% of basic sector mileage, C, D and Z 125% and P 70%; Premium Plus O and A 100% and R 70%; and economy Y, B and M 100%, U, H, Q and E 70%, V, W, S and T 50%, and L, K and G 30%.
Do partner airline flights count toward elite status in ANA Mileage Club?
Star Alliance flights do; other partners do not. Premium Points accrue on flights operated by the ANA Group, by Star Alliance member airlines and by Star Alliance Connecting Partners (Juneyao Airlines), at a route ratio of 1 on international routes, so Etihad, Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Australia and ANA's other non-alliance partners earn miles but no status credit.
Does it matter whether a partner flight is ticketed by ANA or by the partner for ANA Mileage Club earning?
What matters is who operates the flight. On a codeshare operated by a partner airline under an ANA flight number, ANA accrues miles at the operating airline's booking-class rates, so check the operating carrier's table. Shandong Airlines flights are not eligible, and South African Airways flights operated by Airlink (flight numbers above 8000) may not be.
Which non-alliance airlines partner with ANA Mileage Club for earning?
Nine airlines outside Star Alliance earn ANA miles: Air Dolomiti, Air Macau, Etihad Airways, Eurowings, Olympic Air, Philippine Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, Vietnam Airlines and Virgin Australia. Juneyao Airlines also earns, as a Star Alliance connecting partner.
How long do partner airline flights take to post to ANA Mileage Club?
Between 3 days and 1 month after the departure date. If the miles have not appeared, a retroactive claim can be made from 3 days to 6 months after departure.
Do ANA Mileage Club elite members earn a bonus on partner airline flights?
Only on four partners. Premium Members earn flight bonus miles on flights operated by the ANA Group, United Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS or Austrian on mileage-earning fares, and not on ANA codeshares operated by any other partner. The bonus is 40% in the first year and 50% from the second for Bronze, 90% then 100% for Platinum and 115% then 125% for Diamond, with 5 points more for ANA Gold Card or ANA Card Premium holders.

Can I earn miles on trains, buses or ferries through ANA Mileage Club?
Yes, on three railways in Japan listed among ANA's airport services partners. Keikyu ANA Mile Tickets bought from dedicated ticket machines earn 20 miles one way or 50 miles round trip, Tokyo Monorail earns 20 miles for every journey costing ¥519 on an eligible sector, and paying for the Keisei Skyliner with an ANA Card earns 1 mile per ¥100 (including tax).
Missing miles and retroactive claims

How long after a flight can I claim missing miles from ANA Mileage Club?
Six months. Article 8 of the terms says a claim for miles, or an objection to the miles accrued, can be made only within 6 months of the boarding date or of the date the partner product or service was bought or used. See our missing miles guide.

How do I file a missing miles claim with ANA Mileage Club?
Log in on ana.co.jp with your membership number and password, choose Retroactive Registration under My Menu, confirm your number and name, enter an email address for the confirmation, then key in the flight details from your e-ticket itinerary receipt or boarding pass and click Register. What information does ANA Mileage Club need for a missing miles claim?
ANA asks for the e-ticket itinerary receipt (the airline or travel agency receipt showing flight number, flight details and booking class) and the original boarding pass, which is not needed if you used a mobile boarding pass. Claims sent on paper also need the Mileage Retroactive Registration Application Form, which online claims skip.

How do I claim missing miles for a partner airline flight in ANA Mileage Club?
Log in to the members-only features on ana.co.jp and use Retroactive Registration (desktop or mobile), or send ANA's Mileage Retroactive Registration Application Form. Partner flight claims are accepted from 3 days to 6 months after departure; for Asiana, ANA ends accrual on flights after October 15, 2026.

How long does ANA Mileage Club take to process a retroactive claim?
It depends on how you apply. A retroactive registration made on the ANA website shows its accrual result as soon as you finish the procedure, while an application by email takes two to three weeks to process and one by post about two weeks. Applications with missing documents, or sent after the 6-month deadline (Japan time), are not processed, and ANA says it does not answer individual inquiries about accrual status, which you check on the ANA website instead.

Can I claim miles for flights taken before I joined ANA Mileage Club?
No. ANA's mileage registration rules say mileage cannot be accrued for flights boarded before joining ANA Mileage Club; retroactive registration covers only flights taken as a member, within six months from the afternoon of the day after departure (Japan time). See our missing miles guide.
My flight was credited to the wrong program. Can ANA Mileage Club move the miles?
No. ANA lists transfers between programs among the cases where miles cannot be earned: mileage that has already been registered to another airline's frequent flyer program cannot be moved to ANA Mileage Club, so a flight credited elsewhere stays with that program.
Will ANA Mileage Club credit a flight if the name on the ticket does not exactly match my account?
Not necessarily. ANA warns that if the name on the boarding ticket does not match the English name on your ANA Mileage Club account, it may not be possible to add your membership number to the reservation or to accrue miles, and for international travel the ticket name must also match your passport. Before you fly, ANA can correct a booked name's spelling, initials, title, order or middle name, or change the family name after marriage or divorce, with some corrections limited to ANA-issued tickets for ANA flights.
What can I do if ANA Mileage Club rejects a missing miles claim?
Take it up with the ANA Mileage Club Service Center. ANA's contact page asks members querying the result of a retroactive registration to email with "Retroactive Registration Results" in the subject line, giving your name as written on the ticket, the date of travel, flight number (route), ticket number and booking class. In Japan the center also answers on 0570-029-709 (option 3), Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 17:00.

Which banks issue ANA Mileage Club credit cards, and in which countries?
ANA's co-brand ANA Cards are Japanese cards, priced in yen, issued on VISA, JCB, Mastercard and American Express in standard, Wide, Gold, Premium and transport smart-card versions. Family cards and the ANA Card Family Miles service are offered alongside them.

How many miles per dollar do ANA Mileage Club credit cards earn?
The Japan-issued ANA Cards earn in yen: 0.5 miles per ¥100 on standard cards, 1 mile per ¥100 on Gold cards and 1 to 2 miles per ¥100 on Premium cards. They also pay a flight bonus of 10% (standard), 25% (Gold) or 50% (Premium) per flight.

What sign-up bonus do ANA Mileage Club credit cards typically offer?
ANA's Japan-issued ANA Cards pay the same bonus on enrolment and at each renewal: 1,000 miles on standard and transport smart-card versions, 2,000 miles on Wide and Gold cards, and 10,000 miles on Premium cards.
Can credit card spending earn elite status or tier credit in ANA Mileage Club?
Only with a Japan-issued ANA Card. For those holders, ANA offers a second route to Premium status whose criteria combine Premium Points with the number of Life Solution Services used and the amount paid with ANA Card and ANA Pay; everyone else qualifies through Premium Points from flights alone.

Which bank points transfer to ANA Mileage Club, and at what ratio?
The bank program ANA names for US members is American Express Membership Rewards: points from US-issued cards convert to ANA miles at 1:1, in units of 1,000 points. See the transfer partners matrix for how that compares with other programs.

How long do bank point transfers to ANA Mileage Club take?
ANA says Membership Rewards transfers take 2 to 4 business days to reach your ANA Mileage Club account, and only one transfer is allowed per day. The miles must have posted before you can reserve award seats with them.

Can I transfer miles back out of ANA Mileage Club to a bank program?
No. Once Membership Rewards points have been transferred to your ANA Mileage Club account the transaction cannot be reversed, so transfer only when you have found the award seats you want.

Must the bank account and ANA Mileage Club account be in the same name for a transfer?
Yes. ANA says the name on your ANA Mileage Club account and on your Membership Rewards account should match for a transfer from US-issued American Express cards.

Do ANA Mileage Club credit cards have annual fees, and what perks offset them?
Yes. ANA's Japan-issued cards run from the standard ANA Card, free in the first year (except American Express) and ¥2,200 a year after, through the ANA Wide Card from ¥7,975 and Gold cards from ¥15,400, to Premium cards from ¥77,000. The offsets are yearly enrolment and renewal bonuses of 1,000 to 10,000 miles, flight bonuses of 10% (standard), 25% (Gold) or 50% (Premium), and faster earning on spending: 0.5 miles per ¥100 on standard cards, 1 mile on Gold and 1 to 2 miles on Premium.
Is there a business credit card for ANA Mileage Club?
Yes, in Japan. ANA's Corporate Card page offers the ANA JCB Corporate Card and the ANA VISA/MasterCard Corporate Card, each also in Wide and Wide Gold versions, and the ANA Diners Club Corporate Card, applied for through the ANA Mileage Club Service Center. The standard JCB card costs ¥2,475 a year (¥825 per additional card member) and the VISA/Master ¥3,025 (¥440), both free in the first year, with 1,000 bonus miles on enrolment and renewal (2,000 on Wide and Diners cards) and a 10% flight bonus (25% on Wide cards); points earned on the VISA/MasterCard corporate card cannot be converted to miles.

Can I get a ANA Mileage Club credit card if I live outside the United States?
Not the Super Flyers cards: they are issued in Japan only, and applicants must live in Japan or have a Japanese address, hold a Japanese bank account and receive the card at that address. Holders of an ANA credit card issued outside Japan cannot request a Super Flyers application form through the website.
Earning without flying
Shopping portals, dining, hotels, cars, rideshare, surveys and buying miles.
Does ANA Mileage Club have an online shopping portal, and how does it work?
Yes: ANA Mileage Mall, on ANA's Japan site, where members earn miles on purchases made through the Mall. Miles can also be redeemed for ¥1,000 coupons at Mall shops such as GUNZE STORE, Le Creuset and Brooks Brothers (minimum spends of ¥3,000 to ¥5,000), and you still earn miles on the amount paid after the coupon, excluding consumption tax, shipping and handling; coupon purchases must be shipped to an address in Japan.

Does ANA Mileage Club have a dining rewards program?
Yes, in Japan. ANA's Dining page lists restaurants where you earn by showing your ANA Mileage Club number or paying with an ANA Card, such as ANA Hangar Bay Kitchen at Haneda Terminal 2 (1 mile per ¥100 excluding tax or ¥200 including tax), KAMADO MARUYAMA at New Chitose Airport (1 mile per ¥100) and bills Ginza (1 mile per ¥200 with an ANA Card). Miles can also be redeemed for ANA Variety Coupons for dining at places such as the Imperial Hotel, the Peninsula Tokyo, Joël Robuchon and the Okura Tokyo.

Which hotel chains earn miles in ANA Mileage Club, and can hotel points be converted?
Through points conversion. Marriott Bonvoy, for example, converts at 3 points to 1 mile, 3,000 to 240,000 points per day, with 5,000 bonus miles for every 60,000 points in one transfer, so 60,000 points become 25,000 miles; you apply on Marriott's website, the names on both accounts must match, and miles take about 2 weeks to arrive. Which car rental companies earn miles in ANA Mileage Club?
National Car Rental earns ANA miles at 50 miles per rental day, up to 300 miles per rental, on rentals from its offices in the United States and Canada. Show your ANA Mileage Club or ANA Card at pickup and ask for the miles; only pay-at-destination rates qualify, only the person named on the contract earns, you cannot also earn another airline's miles, and the miles take 1 to 2 months to post (missed rentals can be claimed within 6 months with the receipt).
Can I earn miles by taking surveys with ANA Mileage Club?
Not any more. ANA Research, the service that let ANA Mileage Club members earn miles by answering surveys, ended at 23:59 on July 31, 2026: surveys, new registrations and exchanges of survey points have all stopped, and ANA takes inquiries about it only until January 31, 2027.
Can I buy miles from ANA Mileage Club, at what price, and is there a yearly cap?
No. ANA's Earn Miles page lists every way to collect miles, from ANA and partner flights, in-flight sales and ANA Business Jet to tours, hotels, car rentals, dining, online shopping, partner point conversions and ANA Card merchants, and none of them is buying miles from ANA, so there is no price or yearly cap to quote.
Does ANA Mileage Club run bonus promotions on buying miles?
No, because ANA does not sell miles: its Earn Miles page lists flights, travel partners, shopping, partner point conversions and ANA Card merchants as the ways to earn, with no option to buy miles, so there is no purchase bonus to wait for.
Can I gift miles to another ANA Mileage Club member?
No. Article 9 of the terms says that, unless specifically provided by ANA, members may not sell, share, combine or donate their miles to any third party, and Article 5 forbids lending or transferring the membership card itself. What ANA does provide is pooling within a registered family, covered in our family pooling guide.

Are there phone, internet, energy or subscription partners that earn miles in ANA Mileage Club?
Energy, yes, in Japan. Paying ENEOS Denki electricity, ENEOS Toshi Gas or Hokkaido Electric Power bills with an ANA Card earns 1 mile per ¥200 (including tax); Hokuriku Electric Power's offer of 1 mile per ¥200 on electricity bills for ANA Mileage Club members is closed to new applications.

Fuel, yes, in Japan: paying with an ANA Card at apollostation, Idemitsu Kosan's service station brand, earns 1 mile per ¥200 (including tax) on gasoline and diesel, and also on kerosene, oil changes and car washes.
Can I earn miles on Airbnb, vacation rentals or cruises with ANA Mileage Club?
Airbnb, yes: stays booked through ANA's Airbnb page earn 1 mile per ¥200 spent on accommodation, and first-time Airbnb users in Japan earn 2 miles per ¥200 on bookings made and host-approved by 23:59 on December 31, 2026. Only reservations made through ANA's page count (cancelled ones, or bookings made with browser cookies disabled, earn nothing), and the miles arrive within two to three months after the stay.
Does in-flight Wi-Fi, duty free or onboard purchases earn miles on ANA?
Onboard shopping does. ANA SKY SHOP in-flight sales on ANA domestic and international flights earn 1 mile per ¥100 (including tax) when you present your ANA Mileage Club Card or ANA Card, but products under ¥1,000 earn nothing, and the miles take about 1 to 2 months to post. You can also pay for in-flight sales with miles at 1 mile to ¥1.

ANA has three Premium Member tiers: Bronze, Platinum and Diamond. Platinum and Diamond members can also apply for the ANA Super Flyers Card, which carries its own annual fee, and a separate Million Miler Program recognises members who reach 1 million miles or more.

By Premium Points, earned on flights from January to December, with half of each tier's target required from ANA Group operated flights. Yes, if the partner is in Star Alliance. Does ANA Mileage Club offer lifetime or million-miler status?
Yes, through the ANA Million Miler Program, which counts Lifetime Miles: the basic sector mileage credited from ANA Group and partner flights, including ANA award flights. At 1,000,000 Lifetime Miles on ANA Group flights your unused miles stop expiring and you can apply for the Super Flyers Card, and at 2,000,000 you get permanent ANA SUITE LOUNGE access through an ANA LOUNGE Access Card; other milestones from 500,000 to 4,000,000 bring lacquered name tags.

If I fall short of requalifying, does ANA Mileage Club drop me one tier or all the way?
To whatever tier your points reach. ANA says the Premium Points earned in one year determine your premium status for the following year, which starts on April 1 and lasts one year. A Diamond member who earns 50,000 Premium Points in the year (25,000 of them on ANA Group flights) qualifies only for Platinum, and one who earns fewer than the 30,000 needed for Bronze has no premium status from the next April, unless they qualify through the separate route for holders of Japan-issued ANA Cards that also counts Life Solution Services.

Do surplus qualifying points roll over to the next year in ANA Mileage Club?
No. Premium Points are earned within one calendar year, January to December, and cannot be carried over into the following year. If you reach next year's tier before the end of December, though, ANA lets you use that status early as an advance service through March.

ANA has no saver and standard tiers. Each route and cabin on ANA's own flights has a single price for each season (Low, Regular or High), so Japan to North America in economy is 40,000, 50,000 or 72,000 miles round trip depending only on the travel date.
Does ANA Mileage Club allow stopovers or open jaws on award tickets?
Only on round trips that start outside Japan, which may include one stopover besides the destination. One-way awards allow no stopover and up to one connection in Japan, and round trips allow one connection in Japan in each direction.
Can I book a mixed-cabin award in ANA Mileage Club, and how is it priced?
Yes. If a round-trip award combines flights in different classes, ANA applies the mileage of the higher class to the outbound and return journeys separately, so a direction flown partly in business is priced as business while the other direction keeps its own class.
Can I pay part in miles and part in cash with ANA Mileage Club?
Not on flight awards. ANA's terms for international flight awards say that if you are short of the miles an award needs, the difference cannot be covered with cash or ANA SKY COINS, and the full mileage must be in your account when the ticket is issued. A lap infant under 2 on an ANA international award costs 10% of the required award mileage, while an infant who needs a seat must use an award in the same class as the accompanying adult at the full adult mileage. Does ANA Mileage Club add fuel surcharges to award tickets on ANA?
Yes. ANA says its fuel surcharge applies to ANA Mileage Club award tickets as well, at the same amount for adults, children and infants. For tickets issued September 1 to October 31, 2026 it is ¥55,000 per sector between Japan and North America (except Hawaii), Europe, the Middle East or Oceania on journeys starting in Japan, or USD 352 per sector on journeys starting elsewhere, plus an insurance surcharge of ¥780 or USD 7.80 per segment.

Issue the award yourself on the ANA website, where ANA's award application pages list no ticket service charge; issued through ANA in the US, a partner award costs USD 25 more per passenger. Beyond that, the cash cost follows the route, because ANA applies its fuel surcharge to award tickets too: in the September 1 to October 31, 2026 period it is ¥55,000 per passenger per flight between Japan and North America or Europe, ¥14,300 to East Asia and ¥6,500 to South Korea (USD 352, 88 and 34 on itineraries starting outside Japan), and ANA revises it with the market price of fuel.

What does ANA Mileage Club charge to change an award ticket?
ANA lists no change fee, but after ticketing an international flight award can only move to another flight on the same segment and the same departure date, requested before the original flight leaves and at least 24 hours before the new one. The airline, passenger, sector, route and class cannot be changed, and a round trip cannot become a one-way or the reverse.

What are my rights if ANA changes the schedule of my award flight?
If ANA cancels or changes flights because of weather, maintenance or aircraft problems, you can move to other ANA flights or have your miles refunded with no cancellation fee. If the new flight falls in a costlier season ANA does not ask for the extra miles, a cheaper one gets the difference back, and refunded miles are valid until the end of the 36th month after the refund.

Can I cancel just the return of a round-trip ANA Mileage Club award?
Not for a mileage refund. When you cancel for your own reasons, ANA returns the miles only if the international flight award is unused on every sector, so once the outbound has been flown the return cannot be refunded to your account.

Does ANA Mileage Club offer a 24-hour free cancellation on awards?
Under ANA's US Customer Service Plan, yes: a ticketed reservation made on the ANA website, through the ANA Customer Service Center or at ANA's US airport ticket counters can be cancelled without penalty within 24 hours of the ticket being issued, unless it was made within a week of departure, and the same commitment notes that for award tickets, miles that have already expired cannot be refunded. Slightly. Partner awards can change date and flight after ticketing until 96 hours before the new flight, whereas awards on ANA's own international flights can only move to another flight on the same date, up to 24 hours before it. ANA's award rules let you switch to other ANA flights or take a full refund of the miles when it cancels a flight for weather, maintenance or equipment reasons, with no cancellation fee and no extra miles even if the new flight is in a pricier season. The rules only mention rebooking on other ANA flights.

From 09:00 Japan time 355 days before the departure date (not counting the departure date itself) until 96 hours before the first flight departs.

When does ANA release award seats, and are more added closer to departure?
ANA opens award booking at 09:00 Japan time 355 days before departure (not counting the departure day) and closes it 96 hours before the first flight, but because a round trip is reserved and ticketed in one go, you can book it only once the return flight is inside that 355-day window; ANA's partner award application page sets the same window for partner awards and adds that the number of award seats is limited, with none on some flights.

Can I put a ANA Mileage Club award on hold before paying?
Not really. ANA reserves and issues an international flight award together once every sector of the itinerary is booked, deducting the miles at ticketing, so the full mileage must already be in your account; that is also why a round trip can only be reserved once the return flight is inside the 355-day window. Where a ticketing deadline does apply, a reservation that is not ticketed by it is cancelled automatically.

Does ANA Mileage Club have an award waitlist?
Yes, within limits: on ANA international flight awards you can waitlist one flight on one one-way sector, and the waitlist is held until 14 days before the first segment's departure. Platinum and Diamond members get priority on award reservations.
Do ANA Mileage Club elite members get extra award availability?
Yes. Platinum and Diamond members get priority reservations for international flight awards and upgrade awards.
Can I redeem miles for any seat on ANA, or only for designated award seats?
Only designated award seats. ANA's terms for international flight awards say the number of seats that can be used with award tickets is limited and that award reservations may not be available on some flights, so a flight with seats on sale can still have none for miles. Premium Members redeeming for their own travel get priority reservations.

Can I set an alert for ANA Mileage Club award availability?
Yes, in effect, by waitlisting. On an ANA international flight award you can waitlist 1 flight on 1 one-way sector, held until 14 days before the first segment departs, and ANA emails your registered address only if a seat is secured (you hear nothing if it is not). ANA's partner award application page adds that partner airline awards cannot be waitlisted, even for the ANA flights on them.

When is the best time to book a ANA Mileage Club award?
Early: ANA opens international awards at 09:00 Japan time 355 days before departure, and because prices are set by Low, Regular and High season, Low and Regular season dates cost the fewest miles; there are no blackout dates. Bookings close 96 hours before the first flight.

Upgrades

How do I upgrade an ANA flight with miles?
With an ANA International Upgrade Award, applied for from 355 days until 24 hours before departure. If your ticket number starts with 205 you can apply on the ANA website; otherwise you apply by phone. Upgrades go one cabin at a time: economy to premium economy, economy or premium economy to business, or business to first.
Which fares are eligible for a miles upgrade on ANA?
Economy to premium economy needs a Y, B, M, U, H, Q or V fare; economy or premium economy to business needs G, E, Y, B, M or U (plus H on tickets from outside Japan); and business to first needs J, C, D or Z. Codeshare flights are excluded in both directions, and you cannot jump straight from economy to first.

How many miles does an upgrade cost in ANA Mileage Club, and is there a cash copay?
It depends on the flight's basic sector mileage: from 9,000 miles (economy to premium economy), 12,000 (to business) and 20,000 (business to first) on flights up to 2,000 miles, rising to 20,000, 28,000 and 45,000 on flights over 5,500 miles. Beyond the miles, the only extra cost ANA lists is the difference in taxes for the upgraded cabin, such as UK Air Passenger Duty, paid at the airport.

Can I use miles to upgrade partner airline flights through ANA Mileage Club?
Yes, with Star Alliance Upgrade Awards on flights operated by the other Star Alliance airlines, such as United, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines and Air Canada: economy to business costs 12,000 to 40,000 miles per one-way sector and business to first 20,000 to 60,000, depending on distance. Eligible fares vary by operating airline, package and inclusive tour fares are excluded, and Singapore Airlines Suites cannot be booked this way.
Can I waitlist for a miles upgrade in ANA Mileage Club?
Yes. International upgrade awards can be waitlisted until the departure date, and if the seat is not confirmed in advance you check with the counter at check-in on the day. Premium members flying ANA Group operated flights with their own miles get priority on both the reservation and the waitlist.
Can I upgrade with miles at check-in or at the gate on ANA?
Not on international flights: applications close 24 hours before departure and cannot be made at the airport, though a waitlisted upgrade is confirmed at the check-in counter on the day. ANA Japan domestic upgrade awards can be requested on the ANA website on the day of travel, up to 20 minutes before departure.
Does ANA Mileage Club give elite members upgrade certificates or instruments?
Yes, in the form of Upgrade Points: Diamond, Platinum and Bronze members all receive them, to spend on upgrades and, for Bronze members, on ANA LOUNGE access. ANA is ending the Upgrade Points service after fiscal 2026, and points already issued can be used until March 31, 2027.
Can I upgrade an award ticket with more miles in ANA Mileage Club?
No. ANA says its international flight awards cannot be used in conjunction with upgrade awards, so an award ticket stays in the cabin it was booked in.
Are upgrade miles refunded if the upgrade does not clear in ANA Mileage Club?
Yes, if the upgrade award has not been used: you can cancel it for a refund of the miles, with no cancellation fee, up to 24 hours before departure. Miles that have expired by the time the refund is processed are lost, except where the cancellation is due to force majeure, when all the miles are returned.
Does ANA sell cash upgrades or run upgrade auctions, and do they earn miles?
On Japan domestic flights ANA sells upgrades from Economy to Premium Class, from 24 hours until 20 minutes before departure, on the ANA website or at domestic airport counters (the airport only on the day of departure). The fee varies by route, such as ¥11,000 between Tokyo and Osaka, ¥15,000 between Tokyo and Sapporo and up to ¥18,000 from Tokyo to Naha or Ishigaki, on fares including Flex, Standard, Biz, ANA Card Holder's Discount, Youth and Senior. Miles accrue at the original ticket's rate plus 50%, and members can pay with miles instead (or Premium Members with Upgrade Points), in which case the original fare's rate applies.

Non-flight redemptions

Can I redeem miles for hotels through ANA Mileage Club, and what is the value?
Yes, through ANA WORLD HOTEL on ana.co.jp, which lets you pay with miles for more than 1,500,000 hotels worldwide, although the page gives no fixed value per mile. Stays paid wholly or partly with miles earn no miles, fees paid separately at the hotel (resort or destination fees) earn nothing, and a refund cannot return miles whose expiry date has passed.
Can I redeem miles for car rentals through ANA Mileage Club?
Yes. ANA WORLD CAR RENTAL on ana.co.jp lets you pay with miles for rental cars from various companies around the world, and bookings made online with cash earn miles instead. Rentals paid with miles, or with a mix of miles and credit card, earn no miles.
Can I redeem miles for merchandise or gift cards in ANA Mileage Club?
Yes. ANA's More Ways to Use Miles section offers gift cards, airport transportation and more, including ANA Digital Coupons: electronic coupons issued as soon as you redeem, usable in ¥1,000 units for services and products of the ANA Group and its partner companies, though only with participating partners in Japan.

Can I pay for seat selection with miles on ANA?
No. Paid advance seat reservations on ANA international flights are paid by credit card, Apple Pay or PayPal, and ANA SKY COINS cannot be used for a booking that includes a paid seat. For purchases from September 15, 2026, exit-row seats with extra legroom cost ¥10,000 and other chargeable window or aisle seats ¥5,000 between Japan and North America, Europe or Oceania; Diamond and Platinum members booked in Economy, and passengers travelling with them, are exempt.

Can I pay for checked bags with miles on ANA?
Yes. ANA lists baggage allowance among the uses for miles, alongside flight and upgrade awards, and miles in all four mileage account groups, including time-limited campaign miles, can be spent on it.

Can I pay for in-flight Wi-Fi or food with miles on ANA?
Not Wi-Fi: ANA's paid in-flight Wi-Fi plans ($6.95 to $21.95) are payable by credit card only (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, JCB or Diners), with Apple Pay and Google Pay on some 777s, and the page offers no option to pay with miles or ANA SKY COINS.
Can I redeem miles for lounge access or a lounge membership in ANA Mileage Club?
Only if you have status. Bronze members can enter the ANA LOUNGE by presenting their card and paying 4,000 miles or 3 Upgrade Points before an international flight, or 1,000 miles or 2 Upgrade Points before a domestic one, and Diamond members pay 5,000 miles or 4 Upgrade Points (international) for each extra guest beyond the first. ANA's lounge page describes no way for members without status to use miles for lounge entry.
Can I donate miles to charity through ANA Mileage Club?
Yes. ANA lets members donate miles to humanitarian and environmental causes, applied for only on the ANA website; past donations have supported Angkor Wat restoration, coral reef conservation in Okinawa, coastal tree planting, COVID-19 medical support and Hawaii wildfire relief. Donated miles are counted one for one in yen, so ANA reports totals such as 684,000 miles (¥684,000).

Does ANA Mileage Club offer experiences, events or auctions for miles?
Yes, in Japan, mostly through coupons. ANA's Leisure Activities page lets you redeem miles for ANA Variety Coupons and ANA Digital Coupons usable for leisure activities including golf, and for KidZania gift vouchers, Crane Riding Club gift coupons, an Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium annual passport with shop and restaurant vouchers, and EIGA GIFT digital codes for same-day cinema tickets.
Can I convert miles to cash or statement credit in ANA Mileage Club?
Not to cash, but to ANA SKY COINS, digital coupons worth Japanese yen on the ANA website. You can redeem from 1 mile, and above 10,000 miles in 10,000-mile steps up to 200,000 miles at a time; a member with only a Mileage Club card gets 12,000 coins for 10,000 miles.
Which non-flight redemptions in ANA Mileage Club give the best value per miles?
The clearest published rate is for ANA SKY COINS, digital coupons redeemed for Japanese yen on the ANA website, and it rises with volume and status for redemptions of 10,000 miles or more. Diamond, Platinum and Bronze members get 13,000 coins for 10,000 miles (130%) up to 170% on 50,000 miles or more, Super Flyers and Gold or Premium ANA Card holders 120% to 160%, standard ANA Card holders 120% to 150%, and members with only a Mileage Club card a flat 120%.

Can I use miles to extend status or buy tier credit in ANA Mileage Club?
No. Miles cannot be exchanged for Premium Points, or Premium Points for miles, so a mileage balance cannot top up a status shortfall, and Premium Points themselves lapse at the end of each calendar year.

Expiry and reactivation

Do ANA Mileage Club miles expire?
Yes. Regular (Group 1) miles from flights and Life Solution Services are valid until the end of the 36th month counting from the month the flight or service was used, and they expire in Japan Standard Time. Campaign miles in Groups 2 to 4 have shorter, campaign-specific validity; Diamond members and Million Milers are exempt. See do airline miles expire.

What counts as activity to keep ANA Mileage Club miles from expiring?
Nothing does. Each batch of regular miles is valid until the end of the 36th month counting from the month it was earned, however active the account is; new miles simply arrive with their own later expiry date. Only Diamond status (while held) and Million Miler status stop the clock.

Are ANA Mileage Club elite members or cardholders exempt from expiry?
Two groups are. Miles do not expire while you hold Diamond Service status, and Million Milers (1,000,000 Lifetime Miles on ANA Group flights) have indefinite validity. ANA lists no exemption for Platinum or Bronze members, so their miles follow the normal 36-month rule.

How do I check when my ANA Mileage Club miles expire?
Log in on ana.co.jp and open your mileage account balance, which breaks your miles down by account group (1 to 4). When you redeem, ANA deducts the miles closest to expiring first, in the order Group 4, 3, 2 and then 1.
What is the cheapest way to keep ANA Mileage Club miles active?
There is no activity that extends ANA miles, so the practical way to avoid losing them is to redeem before each batch hits its 36-month date. ANA helps by spending the soonest-expiring miles first whenever you redeem, and all four account groups can be used for flight awards, upgrade awards and baggage allowance.

Does ANA Mileage Club close inactive accounts?
Yes. Article 19 lets ANA cancel a membership if no miles have accrued for 3 consecutive years, and under Article 22 any remaining miles, ANA SKY COINS, status and award reservations expire as soon as membership ends.

What members and elites get at the airport and on board.
What is the standard checked baggage allowance on ANA, and how does status change it?
On ANA international flights, First Class allows 3 checked pieces of up to 32 kg (70 lbs) each, Business up to 2 pieces of 32 kg, Premium Economy up to 2 pieces of 23 kg (50 lbs), and Economy between 0 and 2 pieces of 23 kg depending on the fare, each no larger than 158 cm (62 in) in total dimensions. Eligible status members may check one additional piece free, or up to 20 kg more than the free allowance.
Which lounges can ANA Mileage Club members access, and how?
Lounges come with status. Diamond members use the ANA SUITE LOUNGE and ANA LOUNGE in Japan and Star Alliance lounges when flying ANA international or Star Alliance flights, with one guest free; Platinum and Super Flyers members use the ANA LOUNGE and Star Alliance lounges, also with one guest. Bronze members get into the ANA LOUNGE only by paying 4,000 miles or 3 Upgrade Points (international) or 1,000 miles or 2 Upgrade Points (domestic), and Million Milers with 2,000,000 Lifetime Miles use the ANA SUITE LOUNGE with a Lounge Access Card.
Can I buy lounge access on ANA without status?
Yes, before ANA-operated international flights from Narita, Haneda and Honolulu on a ticket number starting with 205. Bought online, from when you buy the ticket until 24 hours before departure, it costs ¥8,800 at Narita and Haneda (since September 16, 2025) or USD 80 at Honolulu for Y, B, M, U, H, Q, V, W and S fares; at the Narita and Haneda counters it is ¥13,200 until boarding begins, and L, K and X fares qualify too. Award tickets are excluded, lounge capacity is limited and purchases cannot be refunded.
Who gets priority check-in, security and boarding on ANA?
Diamond and Platinum members get priority check-in at counters worldwide, an exclusive security checkpoint and priority pre-boarding on all ANA Group flights, plus priority baggage claim. Bronze members get priority check-in only when flying Premium Economy, and priority airport standby.

Does ANA offer same-day changes or standby, and is it free for elites?
On Japan domestic flights ANA offers standby at the airport: request it in the ANA app under Airport Services (or at the counter if your ticket came from a travel agency or with an international flight) up to 20 minutes before the departure of the flight you want, one flight at a time, on the same day, between the same airports and from the same terminal. Fares that do not allow airport standby are excluded, and standby passengers are called in status order: Diamond, Platinum, Super Flyers Card members, Star Alliance Gold, Bronze, Star Alliance Silver, other ANA Mileage Club members, then non-members.

Does ANA offer free Wi-Fi to ANA Mileage Club members?
Free Wi-Fi depends on the cabin, not membership: First and Business Class passengers get a free voucher code by email at least two hours before departure, which ANA Mileage Club members also receive in the ANA App. In Premium Economy and Economy on the A380, 787 and 777, browsing costs $6.95 for 30 minutes, $16.95 for 3 hours or $21.95 for the whole flight, while text messaging on apps such as LINE, WhatsApp and iMessage is free.

Do ANA Mileage Club elite benefits extend to a companion on the same booking?
In the lounge, yes: Diamond, Platinum and Super Flyers members may bring one guest free, and Diamond members can bring guests two to four for 5,000 miles or 4 Upgrade Points each before international flights (2,000 miles or 2 Upgrade Points domestic). Platinum and Super Flyers members cannot add further guests.
Can ANA Mileage Club elites use partner airline lounges when flying partners?
Yes, above Bronze. Diamond members can use Star Alliance member airline lounges in and outside Japan when flying ANA international or Star Alliance flights, Platinum members designated Star Alliance lounges when departing outside Japan, and Super Flyers members Star Alliance lounges as well. Which alliance is ANA in, and since when?
Star Alliance, which was established in 1997. ANA's Star Alliance page lists 26 member airlines, ANA included, from Aegean and Air Canada to Turkish Airlines and United, plus Juneyao Airlines as a connecting partner, but does not give the year ANA joined. See our Star Alliance guide.

Outside Star Alliance, ANA Mileage Club partners with Air Dolomiti, Air Macau, Etihad Airways, Eurowings, Olympic Air, Philippine Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, Vietnam Airlines and Virgin Australia, and with Juneyao Airlines as a Star Alliance connecting partner.

Which partners has ANA Mileage Club added or lost recently?
ITA Airways flights became bookable as ANA partner awards from April 1, 2026, and Lufthansa City Airlines from November 12, 2025. The Asiana Airlines partnership is ending: Asiana award flights are available only for travel until December 16, 2026.
Which hotel loyalty programs partner with ANA Mileage Club?
ANA's Redeem Partner Points page lists five hotel programs whose points convert into ANA miles: Hilton Honors, IHG One Rewards, Marriott Bonvoy, Shangri-La Circle and World of Hyatt. Outside hotels it lists only OPEN POINT in Taiwan and Indonesia's BNI, with Mandiri suspended.

Does ANA Mileage Club partner with any low-cost carriers?
Yes, with Peach, for spending miles: ANA miles convert into Peach Points through e-gift coupons, from 500 miles for 450 points (worth ¥450) up to 10,000 miles for 9,000 points (worth ¥9,000). Peach Points pay for Peach flights, options such as checked baggage and seat reservations, and the related taxes and fees, and they are valid for 180 days from issue. The coupon itself must be turned into points by October 31 or April 30, depending on the half-year in which it was issued.

Does ANA Mileage Club have rail partners?
Yes, three Japanese railways, as earning partners listed under Trains and Buses on ANA's airport services page: Keikyu (ANA Mile Tickets from dedicated machines, 20 miles one way or 50 round trip), Tokyo Monorail (20 miles for each eligible journey costing ¥519) and Keisei Electric Railway's Skyliner (1 mile per ¥100 paid with an ANA Card).
Do ANA's regional or subsidiary carriers earn and redeem in ANA Mileage Club the same way?
For earning, ANA's group carriers count as ANA: flights with an ANA (NH) flight number operated by ANA, AirJapan or ANA Wings, and Japan domestic codeshares under an ANA flight number, earn Premium Points on ANA's own formula, with a route ratio of 2 within Japan and 1.5 on ANA Group flights between Japan and Asia or Oceania.
Program rules, ownership and selling
What the terms say about who owns miles, selling, brokers and enforcement.
Who owns ANA Mileage Club miles: the member or the airline?
The terms never say outright that members own their miles. They define miles as points a member earns to redeem for Awards, forbid selling, sharing, combining or donating them unless ANA provides otherwise (Article 9), void them when membership ends for any reason (Article 22) and cancel all unused miles if ANA ends the program (Article 28). The one transfer they allow is succession by legal heirs after a member's death (Article 21).

Do the ANA Mileage Club terms prohibit selling or bartering miles?
Yes. Article 9 says members may not sell, share, combine or donate their miles to any third party unless ANA specifically provides for it, and Article 13 bars members and Awards Users from transferring Awards to a third party by selling, buying, exchanging or donating them, or causing a third party to do so. Article 20 separately lists transferring or attempting to transfer Awards to a third party, with or without consideration, as a prohibited act.

What can ANA Mileage Club do if it finds miles were sold or awards were bought?
Under Article 20, ANA can cancel the membership of anyone who breaks the prohibitions (which include transferring Awards to a third party and acquiring miles or Awards dishonestly), cancel award reservations, refuse boarding or use of all unused Awards, and charge the member the applicable regular fare for any sector improperly used. It can also suspend mileage accrual and redemptions on the account without notice, and when membership is lost every mile and award reservation expires (Article 22).

Does ANA Mileage Club audit accounts, and what triggers a review?
Yes. Where ANA finds, or has reasonable suspicion of, a prohibited act, Article 20 lets it investigate the member's acts, Mileage Account, transactions, mileage accrual, mileage usage history and Awards Users, and members must cooperate to a reasonable extent. ANA may also verify the customer before accepting an award redemption and refuse it if verification cannot be completed (Article 12), and can ask for proof of family relationship when Awards Users are registered (Article 11).

Is it against the ANA Mileage Club rules to book an award for someone who pays me for it?
Yes. Awards may be used only by the member and registered Awards Users, who must be relatives within the second degree of kinship (including a same-sex partner) under Article 11, and Article 20 prohibits transferring or attempting to transfer Awards to a third party with or without consideration. Breaches can lead to cancelled reservations, refused boarding, a charge of the regular fare for the sector flown and loss of membership.

Can ANA Mileage Club change its rules or devalue miles without notice?
Changes to the terms themselves must be announced at least 90 days before they take effect (Article 26), and ending the program needs 90 days' notice, with unused miles cancelled at termination (Article 28). But Article 26 also lets ANA change award details, miles accrued, accrual conditions and the miles required for Awards without prior notice where it judges this to be in the general interest of users.

Are ANA Mileage Club miles taxable?
The terms put any tax on the member: Article 15 says members or Awards Users pay all taxes, airport fees and other incidental costs arising from the acquisition and use of Awards, and must pay the taxes and charges for Flight Awards in advance, when the ticket is issued.

The full ANA Mileage Club Terms and Conditions are on ana.co.jp; the current version took effect on May 19, 2026 and runs until November 30, 2026. Article 27 makes the website version the current one if it differs from printed documents, the terms are governed by Japanese law with disputes heard first in the Tokyo Summary Court or Tokyo District Court, and the Japanese text prevails over translations.

How do I contact ANA Mileage Club customer service?
In the US, call the ANA Mileage Club Service Center on 1-800-235-9262 (toll-free) or 310-782-3011 (+1-310-782-3011 from outside the US), both 24 hours a day. ANA also has email inquiry forms for members and non-members about mileage services, which can take up to a month to answer, plus online forms for card replacements, combining accounts and cancelling membership.
What are the ANA Mileage Club service centre hours, and is there a dedicated elite line?
The US ANA Mileage Club Service Center lines (1-800-235-9262 and 310-782-3011) are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Premium members have a Premium Member Service Desk, which handles reservations on ANA Group flights as well as questions about mileage and premium member services.
Does ANA Mileage Club offer online chat or messaging support?
ANA's US site has a chatbot available 24 hours a day, but it cannot make, change or cancel reservations. For mileage questions in writing there are email inquiry forms for members and non-members, which do not handle bookings and can take up to a month to answer.
What do I do if my ANA Mileage Club account is hacked or miles are stolen?
ANA's security notice of February 20, 2025 describes this exact attack: third parties hijack a member's email account, steal the one-time password sent for two-step verification, then log in to change personal details or misuse miles. Its advice is to use a web password you use on no other site and that differs from the password of the email account receiving ANA's one-time passwords, to update the web password regularly, and to check your registered details and mileage balance regularly.

How do I see my ANA Mileage Club activity statement and past redemptions?
Log in on ana.co.jp: your profile and your mileage and ANA SKY COINS balances appear under your name, and clicking Miles, ANA SKY COINS, Premium Points/Points on ANA or Upgrade Points opens the detail, including usage histories and expiry dates. Reservations, mileage and profile details are also reached through My Menu.
Does ANA Mileage Club support two-factor authentication?
Yes. For certain services ANA Mileage Club uses two-step authentication: besides your membership number and web password you enter a one-time password sent to the email address registered for ANA's Important Notices. Keep that address current and allow mail from @121.ana.co.jp, since without the code those services cannot be used; if the code still does not arrive, contact the ANA Mileage Club service centre.

How do I escalate a complaint about ANA Mileage Club?
Write to ANA Customer Relations: its Feedback and Suggestions page takes complaints through online forms (with separate versions for Mileage Club members and non-members), by chat from 9:00 to 17:00 daily, or by post to ANA Customer Relations, Gate City Osaki Post Office Box No.15, Tokyo 141-0032, Japan. ANA says a reply can take a few days and some messages may not get one, and questions about tickets or mileage themselves go to the ANA Mileage Club contact points instead.
Which languages does ANA Mileage Club customer service support?
The US ANA Mileage Club Service Center answers in Japanese and English on 1-800-235-9262, 24 hours a day. ANA also runs an English-only reservations line, 1-833-794-2238, handled from the Philippines.

What does an infant cost on a ANA Mileage Club award ticket?
On ANA international flight awards, an infant under 2 without a seat costs 10% of the award mileage required for the accompanying adult, and an infant occupying their own seat needs the full adult mileage in the same class. Taxes and fees are paid on top.
Can an unaccompanied minor travel on a ANA Mileage Club award ticket?
Yes, but not online. ANA's partner award rules say reservations for children aged 2 to 11 travelling alone cannot be made on the website, so the award has to be booked by phone, and children need the same mileage as an adult.

Can I pay pet fees with miles on ANA, and do pet fees earn miles?
ANA carries pets in the cargo hold beneath the cabin, and its US fee page prices them in cash: USD 400 (¥40,000) per sector between areas and USD 250 (¥25,000) within an area. The page mentions no way to pay the pet fee with miles or to earn miles on it.
Does ANA Mileage Club offer student or youth benefits?
In Japan, through student versions of the ANA Card: the ANA VISA Card for Students, ANA MasterCard for Students and ANA JCB Card for Students charge no annual fee while the holder is in school, and pay 1,000 miles on enrolment and renewal plus a 10% bonus on flights. On the VISA and Mastercard versions, purchases earn 1 point per ¥200, worth 1 mile.
How do I request wheelchair or accessibility assistance on a ANA Mileage Club award booking?
Register it once on your ANA Mileage Club account through ANA's Special Assistance Information Registration Service: your mobility level, any wheelchair to be checked in, visual or hearing impairments, onboard medical devices and the help you need at the airport or on board. You send the registration sheet by email inquiry form or call the ANA Disability Desk with your membership number; processing takes 5 working days, after which some details are added automatically to tickets booked on the ANA website, while others still need a call to the Disability Desk.

What are the most recent major changes to ANA Mileage Club?
ANA's 2025-2026 system renewal reshaped awards in two steps. From June 24, 2025 it introduced one-way awards, revised the required mileage, cut connections in Japan on round-trip awards from two to one per direction and stopped issuing Star Alliance Round the World awards. For flights from May 19, 2026, Japan domestic awards open at 9:00 a.m. 355 days out and must be started within a year of issue, the infant age band becomes 0 to 1, premium members get priority domestic award reservations and one extra bag instead of 20 kg, and new domestic upgrade awards move Economy tickets to Premium Class.

Has ANA Mileage Club changed its name or currency recently?
No. ANA's own archive says the program launched as ANA Mileage Club in 1997, for both domestic and international flights, growing out of Program A, an international-only mileage program started in 1993; the current ANA Mileage Club terms and conditions still use that name and count the currency in miles.

When did ANA Mileage Club last devalue its award prices?
On June 24, 2025. For international flight awards reserved or issued from 0:00 Japan time that day, ANA raised economy and premium economy prices on every zone in High season, and business and first class prices in all seasons to South Korea, Russia 1, Asia 1, Asia 2 and Oceania and in High season to Hawaii, North America and Europe. What changes has ANA Mileage Club announced for the coming year?
ANA HOLDINGS has announced an IHG Hotels & Resorts partnership launching after October 2026: IHG One Rewards points on ANA-ticketed and operated international flights to Japan on top of ANA miles, a two-way exchange between ANA miles and IHG points, and IHG elite status for ANA Diamond + More, Diamond, Platinum and Bronze members.

How does ANA Mileage Club notify members of changes?
Through ana.co.jp. Article 26 of the terms requires ANA to tell members the content and effective date of any change to the terms at least 90 days in advance, and Article 27 makes the website the place where the current terms and award conditions are published; ending the program also needs 90 days' notice (Article 28). Award details and required mileage, however, can change without prior notice where ANA judges it to be in users' general interest.

What changed most recently in how ANA Mileage Club elite status is earned?
The latest change ANA flags is on the Life Solution Services route for members with a Japan-issued ANA Card: ANA Research counts toward the 2026 total of services used only for members who registered or renewed by July 31, 2026, the day ANA's ANA Research page says the service ended. That route combines Premium Points earned January to December 2026 with the number of services used and ANA Card and ANA Pay spending, from 15,000 points, 4 services and ¥3,000,000 for Bronze to 150,000 points, 7 services and ¥6,000,000 for Diamond + More, with status running for a year from the following April.

When was ANA Mileage Club founded?
In 1997. ANA's own archive says the program grew out of Program A, a mileage program for international flights only that started in 1993, and that ANA Mileage Club launched in 1997 for both domestic and international flights, with ANA Card members registered as members too. It later added Star Alliance airline partners and mileage partnerships outside the airline industry.
