How do I join Korean Air SKYPASS?
Sign up on the Korean Air website or app; Korean Air also lists joining through a mobile wallet or with an affiliated SKYPASS credit card. Anyone can join regardless of age, gender or nationality, and children under 14 join with a guardian's consent.
Does it cost anything to join Korean Air SKYPASS?
No. SKYPASS is free to join; you fill in the application on koreanair.com and can start earning and redeeming as soon as you have a membership number.

Is there a minimum age to join Korean Air SKYPASS, and can children have their own account?
Membership is open from age 14; anyone younger needs parental consent to register. Children can then be added to a parent's Family Plan so their miles pool with the family.

Where do I find my Korean Air SKYPASS membership number?
If you have forgotten it, use the Find your SKYPASS number link on Korean Air's SKYPASS Club page, which shows your membership number once you verify your identity. There is no plastic card to check any more, since Korean Air replaced it with a mobile membership card.
Does Korean Air SKYPASS issue a physical membership card, and do I need one?
No plastic card any more: Korean Air has replaced the physical SKYPASS card with a mobile card, which you can save or print and use just like the old one. Its QR code also lets you check in at kiosks that read QR codes.
Does Korean Air have an app for managing Korean Air SKYPASS, and what can it do?
Yes. The Korean Air app handles the SKYPASS essentials: registering Family Plan members, filing retro mileage claims, issuing lounge vouchers with miles, booking Korean Air and SkyTeam awards and applying mileage seat upgrades from My Travel.
I accidentally created two Korean Air SKYPASS accounts. Can they be merged?
Duplicate accounts are prohibited by the terms, so contact the SKYPASS team (skypassmaster@koreanair.com or 1588-2001 in Korea) to have the second account merged or closed rather than keeping both.

How do I close my Korean Air SKYPASS account, and what happens to my miles?
The terms let a member withdraw at any time, with requests handled by the SKYPASS team (skypassmaster@koreanair.com or 1588-2001 in Korea). The terms do not promise that unused miles survive closure, so redeem them first.

Can I join Korean Air SKYPASS if I live outside the airline's home country?
Yes. Korean Air says anyone can sign up regardless of age, gender or nationality. Foreigners living in Korea and Korean nationals living abroad sign up after changing the region and language settings on the website.
How do I update my email, address or phone number with Korean Air SKYPASS?
Korean Air's SKYPASS Club page links a guest-information tool for editing your contact details, which also merges duplicate SKYPASS numbers and works even if you are not a Korean Air website member.
If I join Korean Air SKYPASS after a flight, can I still claim miles for it?
Only for a short window. Korean Air's claim rules say you cannot claim mileage for flights taken more than 30 days before you signed up for SKYPASS, so a flight in the 30 days before enrolment can be claimed, anything earlier cannot.
Does Korean Air have a separate program for small businesses, and can I earn in both?
Yes: Korean Air BIZ, a business travel program for small and mid-sized companies with at least five SKYPASS members on staff. The company collects points worth 2% to 7% of the fare on international tickets bought on the Korean Air website, separately from the SKYPASS miles each traveller earns, and spends them on Prestige Lounge visits, extra checked bags, discount coupons, upgrades to Prestige and free international tickets.

How are miles calculated on Korean Air flights: by fare paid, by distance, or by a fixed amount?
By distance and booking class: the flown distance of each segment is multiplied by an accrual percentage tied to the booking class, not by the price paid, and Korean Air's accrual chart gives the rate for each class. Korean Air had planned new rates by booking class for 1 April 2023, but its newsroom said on 22 February 2023 that the change was under full review and the existing rules stay in force, so rates quoted as effective from April 2023 do not apply.

How many miles do I earn per dollar (or per mile flown) on Korean Air?
SKYPASS does not earn per dollar; it credits a percentage of the flown distance by booking class. A one-way Incheon to Los Angeles flight in a 100% economy class earns 5,973 miles, Incheon to Atlanta 7,132 and Incheon to Honolulu 4,560, before any class bonus or discount-class reduction.

Do basic economy or light fares on Korean Air earn miles?
At a reduced rate: the cheapest economy booking classes earn a smaller share of the distance flown than full-fare economy, and Korean Air's accrual chart gives the rate for each class. Award tickets, which Korean Air's award booking guide books in classes X (Economy), O (Prestige) and A (First), earn nothing.

None is listed. Morning Calm Premium Club's benefits are priority check-in and baggage, an extra bag, lounge access, SkyTeam benefits, free Economy seat selection, off-peak award pricing on peak dates, waived award reissue fees, waitlist priority and a hotline, with no bonus miles, and Korean Air's Morning Calm Club page likewise lists service perks only.
How long after a flight do miles post to my Korean Air SKYPASS account?
Flight mileage posts automatically 1 to 14 days after the flight date on Korean Air and SkyTeam partners. Car rental, tour and other partner miles can take up to 8 weeks, and anything that fails to post can be claimed retroactively within 365 days of boarding.
Do award tickets earn miles or status credit on Korean Air?
No. Korean Air's accrual rules state that mileage is not accrued when using award tickets, on Korean Air or on partners, so award flights earn neither miles nor tier credit.
Which Korean Air tickets earn no miles at all?

Which airlines can I credit to Korean Air SKYPASS?
All the SkyTeam carriers Korean Air lists: Delta, Aerolineas Argentinas, Aeromexico, Air Europa, Air France, China Airlines, China Eastern, Garuda Indonesia, Kenya Airways, KLM, Middle East Airlines, Saudia, SAS, TAROM, Vietnam Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and Xiamen Air (Aeroflot accrual has been suspended since 12 June 2023). Outside SkyTeam, Korean Air credits American Airlines, China Southern, Emirates, GOL and Japan Airlines; Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines stopped earning SKYPASS miles for flights boarded from 1 January 2026. How are miles calculated on partner airline flights credited to Korean Air SKYPASS?
By flight segment, cabin and booking class, as a percentage of the flown distance, using a separate accrual table per airline. Delta economy, for example, earns 110% in P, A, G, W and S, 100% in Y, B, M and H, and 70% or 0% in the lower classes; Air France long-haul W and S earn 125% and Economy Light earns 20%.
Which booking classes on partner airlines earn miles in Korean Air SKYPASS, and which earn nothing?
Each partner has its own table on the SkyTeam accrual page. As examples, Delta economy P, A, G, W and S earn 110%, Y, B, M and H earn 100% and the lowest classes earn 70% or nothing; Air France Economy Light earns 20% and premium economy 75%; Middle East Airlines business J, C, D, I and Z earn 200%. Award tickets, charters and non-accrual fares earn nothing on any partner.
Do partner airline flights count toward elite status in Korean Air SKYPASS?
Yes toward the lifetime tiers, which count miles earned on SkyTeam member airlines toward 500,000 and 1,000,000. For Morning Calm Club, partner miles count toward the 50,000 total but at least 30,000 must be flown on Korean Air, and the 80-point alternative counts Korean Air flights only.
Does it matter whether a partner flight is ticketed by Korean Air or by the partner for Korean Air SKYPASS earning?
What matters is which airline operates the flight, not who issued the ticket: Korean Air credits codeshare segments according to the operating carrier's SKYPASS accrual table. Give your SKYPASS number at booking or check-in regardless of the ticketing airline.
Which non-alliance airlines partner with Korean Air SKYPASS for earning?
Five as of 2026: American Airlines, China Southern, Emirates, GOL and Japan Airlines, each credited by segment, cabin and booking class. Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines dropped out for flights boarded on or after 1 January 2026, though flights up to 31 December 2025 can still be claimed within 365 days.

How long do partner airline flights take to post to Korean Air SKYPASS?
Korean Air says partner-airline mileage posts automatically 1 to 14 days after the flight date. Keep your e-ticket itinerary and original boarding pass until the accrual shows in your account, and file a retro claim within 365 days if it does not.
Can I credit different flights on the same ticket to different programs, or must the whole ticket go to Korean Air SKYPASS?
Each flight is credited once, to a single program. Korean Air's rule is that if you belong to both SKYPASS and the partner's program, the mileage can only be accrued with one airline of your choice and cannot be transferred between airlines once credited, so decide before you fly.
Do Korean Air SKYPASS elite members earn a bonus on partner airline flights?
No bonus is listed. Morning Calm Premium Club's partner-flight perks are its SkyTeam benefits, and the tier's benefit list (priority services, baggage, lounges, seat selection, award pricing and fee waivers) contains no extra miles on Korean Air or partner flights.

How long after a flight can I claim missing miles from Korean Air SKYPASS?
Within 365 days of the boarding date for Korean Air and most partner flights. Air France and KLM flights must be claimed between 7 days and 6 months after boarding, Garuda Indonesia between 14 days and 6 months, and other partners from 7 days after boarding up to 365 days.
How do I file a missing miles claim with Korean Air SKYPASS?
Apply online after the trip: the retro-claim page under My Mileage on koreanair.com or in the Korean Air app takes the ticket and flight details. Claims that fall outside the online window (for example Air France, KLM or Garuda flights older than 6 months) have to go through a Service Center with your documents. See claiming missing miles.
What information does Korean Air SKYPASS need for a missing miles claim?
Your e-ticket itinerary and the original boarding pass. Korean Air tells members to keep both until the mileage shows in the account, and asks for them explicitly when a claim has to be filed at a Service Center.
How do I claim missing miles for a partner airline flight in Korean Air SKYPASS?
The same online retro-claim form covers partner flights, but the windows differ: Air France and KLM from 7 days to 6 months after boarding, Garuda Indonesia from 14 days to 6 months, other partners from 7 days to 365 days. Claims for Air France, KLM or Garuda flights older than 6 months (but under 365 days) must be made in person at a Service Center with the e-ticket and boarding pass.
Can I claim miles for flights taken before I joined Korean Air SKYPASS?
Only within 30 days. Korean Air does not credit flights boarded more than 30 days before you signed up for SKYPASS.
My flight was credited to the wrong program. Can Korean Air SKYPASS move the miles?
No. Korean Air's accrual rules state that once mileage has been credited to one airline's program it cannot be transferred to another, so a flight credited to a partner program cannot be moved into SKYPASS afterwards.
What can I do if Korean Air SKYPASS rejects a missing miles claim?
Take your e-ticket itinerary and boarding pass to a Korean Air Service Center, which can credit flights the online form cannot. Under the mileage transaction agreement Korean Air must investigate a correction request and tell you the result within two weeks. See claim missing miles.

In Korea almost every major issuer has SKYPASS cards: Hyundai Card, Samsung Card, BC Card, Hana Card, Shinhan Card, KB Kookmin Card, Lotte Card, Citi, NH Nonghyup Card, Woori Card and American Express Korea. In the United States, U.S. Bank issues the SKYPASS Visa Signature, SKYPASS Select Visa Signature and SKYPASS Visa Business cards.
How many miles per dollar do Korean Air SKYPASS credit cards earn?
Korean-issued cards mostly earn 1 mile per KRW 1,000 to 1,500 spent, with category bonuses up to 5 miles per KRW 1,000 at selected merchants. The U.S. Bank SKYPASS Select Visa Signature earns 3 miles per dollar on Korean Air purchases and 2 on other airlines, hotels, car rentals and dining; the standard SKYPASS Visa Signature earns 2 on travel and 1 elsewhere.
What sign-up bonus do Korean Air SKYPASS credit cards typically offer?
As of September 2026 the U.S. Bank SKYPASS Select Visa Signature offers 60,000 bonus miles after $5,000 of eligible purchases in the first 90 days, credited 6 to 8 weeks after you meet the spend. U.S. Bank's page for the SKYPASS Visa Signature Business card offers 50,000 miles on the same $5,000 in 90 days.
Can credit card spending earn elite status or tier credit in Korean Air SKYPASS?
Not toward lifetime status: the 500,000 miles for lifetime Morning Calm Premium Club count flying on Korean Air and SkyTeam airlines and expressly exclude miles from credit cards, non-SkyTeam partner airlines and promotional events. For Morning Calm Club, Korean Air's page requires at least 30,000 of the 50,000 miles to come from Korean Air flights and lets the rest be earned with partners, without saying whether card miles count; 80 flight points also qualify.
Which bank points transfer to Korean Air SKYPASS, and at what ratio?
In Korea, card points convert: Korean Air's Korea credit card page lists Hyundai Card's American Express Edition2 MR points at 1.5 points per mile, and Hana Card Hana Miles, Lotte Card Air Miles and Citi Premier Miles at 1:1. It also lists BC TOP Points, IBK Points, KB Pointree, My Shinhan Points, Hyundai M Points, L.POINT and Woori WON points as convertible into SKYPASS miles. See transfer partners.
How long do bank point transfers to Korean Air SKYPASS take?
Card miles are batched, not instant: Korean Air says mileage from partner cards in the US, Japan, Vietnam and Korea is typically posted once a month by the issuer, and once posted it carries the standard 10-year validity.
Can I transfer miles back out of Korean Air SKYPASS to a bank program?
No. SKYPASS has no bank transfer partners in either direction, so miles cannot be moved out to a bank program, and they cannot be transferred to another airline program once credited.

Does Korean Air SKYPASS run transfer bonuses from bank programs?
No, because there is nothing to bonus: SKYPASS is not a transfer partner of Chase, Amex, Citi or Capital One and the former Marriott Bonvoy link has ended, so no bank transfer bonuses run to Korean Air.

Must the bank account and Korean Air SKYPASS account be in the same name for a transfer?
For the U.S. Bank SKYPASS Visa cards, yes: the primary cardholder's name must match the SKYPASS member name and number, so you cannot apply using a spouse's SKYPASS number. If you are not yet a member, a SKYPASS number is assigned to you, and personal and business cards can both feed the same SKYPASS number.

Do Korean Air SKYPASS credit cards have annual fees, and what perks offset them?
Yes. As of September 2026 the U.S. Bank SKYPASS Select Visa Signature costs $450 a year and offsets it with up to $200 a year in travel statement credits, up to $120 toward TSA PreCheck or Global Entry, two Korean Air lounge vouchers and four Priority Pass visits a year, 5% off Korean Air tickets twice a year for you and a companion, two $25 duty-free coupons, and renewal bonuses of 5,000 miles after $15,000 or 10,000 miles after $35,000 of annual spend. It charges no foreign transaction fees.
Do any Korean Air SKYPASS credit cards include a companion fare or free flight certificate?
Not a free companion flight. The US Bank SKYPASS Select Visa gives a 5% discount on Korean Air tickets for you and one companion twice a year plus annual lounge vouchers, and some premium Korean-issued SKYPASS cards bundle a complimentary companion fare on domestic flights along with lounge access.
Is there a business credit card for Korean Air SKYPASS?
Yes. U.S. Bank issues the SKYPASS Visa Signature Business card: as of September 2026 it costs $99 a year, offers 50,000 bonus miles after $5,000 of purchases in the first 90 days, and earns 2 miles per dollar on Korean Air tickets, gas and EV charging, office supplies, cell phone service and dining, 1 mile elsewhere. Each year it adds two Korean Air lounge vouchers and 5% off Korean Air tickets for you and a companion, and miles from employee cards go to each employee's own SKYPASS account.
Can I get a Korean Air SKYPASS credit card if I live outside the United States?
Yes, and the widest choice is at home: Korean Air lists SKYPASS co-brand or points-conversion cards from Hyundai, Samsung, BC, Hana, Shinhan, KB Kookmin, Lotte, Citi, NH Nonghyup, Woori and Amex Korea for residents of Korea, while U.S. residents have the U.S. Bank SKYPASS Visa range.

Korean Air's shopping partners credit miles on what you spend with them: its own e-SKYSHOP, 11STREET and Samsung Electronics pay 1 mile per KRW 1,000, Kyobo Book Centre 2 miles per KRW 1,000, Emart24 1 mile per KRW 2,000, Hyundai Duty Free 1 mile per USD 5 and The Bicester Collection 1 mile per EUR or GBP 1 on spends of 300 or more. In-flight SKY SHOP duty free earns 1 to 3 miles per USD.

Dining earns through the co-branded credit cards: as of September 2026 the U.S. Bank SKYPASS Select Visa Signature pays 2 miles per dollar on dining, including takeout and delivery, against 1 mile on most other purchases.
Which hotel chains earn miles in Korean Air SKYPASS, and can hotel points be converted?
Korean Air lists a mix of chains and booking sites: 500 miles per stay at Seogwipo KAL Hotel, Grand Hyatt Incheon and Hyatt hotels worldwide, Waikiki Resort Hotel, Okura Nikko, Paradise City and Lotte Hotel Korea; 3 miles per USD at Trip.com and Klook, 2 at Booking.com, 1 at Agoda and Hotels.com and 1 to 2 at IHG. Accor ALL points convert at 4,000 points to 2,000 miles.
Which car rental companies earn miles in Korean Air SKYPASS?
Alamo, National and Rentalcars.com pay 500 miles per rental, Hertz 250 to 500 and Avis up to 500 (each with about 10% off overseas); in Korea, SK Rent-a-Car and Lotte Rent-a-Car pay 100 miles per 24 hours up to 1,000 per rental. Partner miles can take up to 8 weeks to post.

Can I gift miles to another Korean Air SKYPASS member?
Not as a straight transfer. The SKYPASS route is the Family Plan: once a relative is registered you can endorse an award to them, paying with your own miles, or let them pool your mileage with theirs at payment; unrelated friends cannot be given miles.

Are there phone, internet, energy or subscription partners that earn miles in Korean Air SKYPASS?
No phone, internet or energy partner. The non-travel earning partners are Korean shopping and points programs: Naver Pay (22 points to 1 mile), OK Cashbag and L.POINT (220 points to 10 miles), H.Point, BMW Vantage coins, S-OIL points and Hanjin couriers.

Can I earn miles on fuel or groceries with Korean Air SKYPASS?
In Korea, yes: S-OIL bonus points convert at 20 points to 1 mile, Emart24 stores earn 1 mile per KRW 2,000, and Emart is in the Mileage Mall. Elsewhere there is no fuel or grocery partner.

Can I earn miles on Airbnb, vacation rentals or cruises with Korean Air SKYPASS?
Not Airbnb or cruises, but the booking sites are covered: Trip.com and Klook hotels earn 3 miles per USD, Booking.com 2, Agoda and Hotels.com 1, and Hanjin Travel packages earn 1,000 to 10,000 miles per booking.
Does in-flight Wi-Fi, duty free or onboard purchases earn miles on Korean Air?
Duty free yes, Wi-Fi no. SKY SHOP in-flight and pre-order duty free earns 1 to 3 miles per USD and Hyundai Duty Free 1 mile per USD 5, while the in-flight Wi-Fi page prices plans in USD with no mileage earning.

What are the elite status tiers in Korean Air SKYPASS?
Three today: Morning Calm Club (a two-year tier), Morning Calm Premium Club at 500,000 lifetime miles and Million Miler Club at 1,000,000, the last two valid for life. A fourth, Morning Calm Select Club, sits between Morning Calm and Premium with SkyTeam Elite Plus benefits from 28 October 2026 as part of the Asiana integration.

How do I qualify for elite status in Korean Air SKYPASS: by spending, segments, distance or points?
Miles or flight points. Morning Calm Club takes 50,000 accrued miles (at least 30,000 from Korean Air flights) or 80 points, where a domestic flight is 1 point and an international flight 2. Morning Calm Premium needs 500,000 and Million Miler 1,000,000 cumulative miles on Korean Air and SkyTeam, with no spending test.
What are the qualification thresholds for each Korean Air SKYPASS tier?
Morning Calm Club: 50,000 miles accrued with at least 30,000 from Korean Air flights, or 80 flight points (1 per domestic, 2 per international Korean Air flight). Morning Calm Premium Club: 500,000 miles on Korean Air and SkyTeam. Million Miler Club: 1,000,000 miles, both lifetime.
When does the Korean Air SKYPASS qualification year start and end, and how long does status last?
Morning Calm Club runs on two-year periods: qualify, then keep it by accruing 30,000 miles (20,000 on Korean Air), or 30,000 miles plus 30 flight points, or 40 flight points in the next two years. Morning Calm Premium and Million Miler are valid for life and are unaffected by redeeming or expiring miles.
Do partner airline flights count toward Korean Air SKYPASS status?
Partly. The 500,000 and 1,000,000-mile lifetime thresholds count miles earned on SkyTeam member airlines, but the Morning Calm Club test requires at least 30,000 of the 50,000 miles to come from Korean Air flights, and its flight-point route counts Korean Air flights only.
Does Korean Air SKYPASS offer lifetime or million-miler status?

Can I pay for in-flight Wi-Fi or food with miles on Korean Air?
