Sign up free on the Privilege Club pages of qatarairways.com (you enter an email and verify it within 15 minutes), in the Qatar Airways app, onboard, at a ticket office or through a partner. As of 2026 the promo code JOINPC26 on enrolment gives up to 2,000 bonus Avios after your first flight.
Does it cost anything to join Qatar Airways Privilege Club?
No. Privilege Club membership is free; the only paid extras are optional ones like buying, boosting or transferring Avios.
Is there a minimum age to join Qatar Airways Privilege Club, and can children have their own account?
You must be 18 or older to hold a Main Member account. Children over 2 can be added to a parent or guardian's Family & Friends group, where they get their own membership number and digital card but their Avios pool into the adult's account; infants under 2 cannot join.
Where do I find my Qatar Airways Privilege Club membership number?
It is on your digital membership card in the Privilege Club dashboard and the Qatar Airways app (Platinum members also receive a physical card). The sign-up form has a field for an existing membership number, so do not create a second account if you already have one.
Does Qatar Airways Privilege Club issue a physical membership card, and do I need one?
Only Platinum members receive a physical card; Burgundy, Silver and Gold members get a digital card in their account and app. Staff may ask for the card plus photo ID before granting a benefit, and only the named member may use it.

How do I change the name on my Qatar Airways Privilege Club account after marriage or a legal name change?
A name change is not self-service: the terms say it needs a separate request to Qatar Airways. Get it done before you fly, because your Privilege Club name and date of birth must match the booking exactly for Avios and Qpoints to credit.
I accidentally created two Qatar Airways Privilege Club accounts. Can they be merged?
Each member is meant to have one non-transferable membership number, and the terms list opening multiple accounts to earn or redeem repeatedly as fraudulent activity that can get an account suspended. Raise the duplicate with Privilege Club rather than keep using both.
How do I close my Qatar Airways Privilege Club account, and what happens to my Avios?
You can terminate your membership online, but every accrued Avios, Qpoint and Qcredit is forfeited when you do. Spend or transfer the balance first.
Can I join Qatar Airways Privilege Club if I live outside the airline's home country?
Yes. The sign-up form asks for your country or region of residence from a worldwide list and the site runs more than 90 country editions; the requirements are a valid email, a mobile number, your name as on your passport and being at least 18.
How do I update my email, address or phone number with Qatar Airways Privilege Club?
Contact details are edited in My Profile on the Privilege Club dashboard or app. Name and date-of-birth changes go through the profile-update request form so the record matches your passport, which is also a precondition for missing-Avios claims.
What do I do if I am locked out of my Qatar Airways Privilege Club account?
If you have lost access to the email on your account, use the Privilege Club account reset page: enter your first and last name as on your passport and your membership number, then verify with a one-time PIN sent to your registered mobile (instant) or upload your passport and a government-issued ID through the online form (answered within 48 hours). You then add a new email address and must click its verification link within 48 hours.

If I join Qatar Airways Privilege Club after a flight, can I still claim Avios for it?
Yes. New members can claim Avios for Qatar Airways flights taken up to 90 days before they enrolled, within the overall 180-day claim window from the travel date.
Does Qatar Airways have a separate program for small businesses, and can I earn in both?
Yes. Avios on Qatar Airways are distance-based: the miles flown multiplied by a percentage set by your booking class, from 25% in Economy Lite (W) up to 300% in First Elite (F, A), plus your tier bonus. Qpoints for status are also earned per flight by cabin and fare.

Earning is per mile flown, not per dollar. Economy Comfort (H, B, Y) earns 100% of distance, Convenience (S, V, L, M, K) 75%, Classic (O, T, Q, N) 50% and Lite (W) 25%; Business runs from 75% on Lite (P) to 200% on Elite (C, J), and First Elite earns 300%.

If I upgrade a ticket on Qatar Airways, do I earn Avios on the original fare or the upgraded cabin?
It depends. Qatar Airways says the Avios and Qpoints you collect after an upgrade depend on the class you upgraded to, whether you upgraded online or at the airport, and when you did it, so a paid online upgrade can earn at the higher cabin while a last-minute airport upgrade may not.

Do infant or child tickets on Qatar Airways earn Avios?
Infant tickets (under 2) earn no Avios. Children with their own seat earn at the normal booking-class rate, and if they are in a Family & Friends group their Avios go to the Main Member's account.

Group fares in booking class G earn 50% of distance flown on Qatar Airways, the same as Classic economy.

Do partner airline flights count toward elite status in Qatar Airways Privilege Club?
Yes. Qpoints are earned on eligible fares on Qatar Airways, oneworld carriers and participating partners, but to renew a tier you still need at least 20% of your Qpoints or four sectors in 12 months (eight in 24) on Qatar Airways itself.
Does it matter whether a partner flight is ticketed by Qatar Airways or by the partner for Qatar Airways Privilege Club earning?

The rule works flight by flight: a flight or transaction already credited to another loyalty programme earns no Avios, and Qatar Airways can deduct Avios without notice if the same flight also earns miles or points elsewhere. So each flight can go to one programme only.

How long after a flight can I claim missing Avios from Qatar Airways Privilege Club?
You have 180 days from the travel date to claim missing Avios or Qpoints (the terms phrase it as six months). If you joined after the flight, the claim must also be within 90 days of travel.

How long do bank point transfers to Qatar Airways Privilege Club take?
From American Express, normally straight away: Qatar Airways says Membership Rewards transfers are usually immediate but to allow up to 48 hours, at 1,000 points for 1,000 Avios, and the points cannot be moved back once transferred.

Can I transfer Avios back out of Qatar Airways Privilege Club to a bank program?
Not to a bank, but Avios can be converted into Marriott Bonvoy points at 2:1 (1,000 Avios = 500 points), from a 1,000-Avios minimum up to 500,000 Avios a day.
Does Qatar Airways Privilege Club run transfer bonuses from bank programs?
Yes, from time to time. The June 2026 Global Points Exchange paid 30% bonus Avios on conversions made between 1 and 30 June from dozens of partners, including Citibank, HSBC, Capital on Tap, CIMB and UOB plus the Accor, IHG, Hyatt and Shangri-La hotel programmes. The bonus applied to each single conversion, was not paid retroactively and posted by 31 July 2026.

Must the bank account and Qatar Airways Privilege Club account be in the same name for a transfer?
For American Express, yes, with one exception: Membership Rewards points can only go to a frequent flyer account in your own name or in the name of an Additional Card Member on your card account, and an Additional Card Member's account becomes eligible 90 days after their card is issued. Points moved to an airline cannot be transferred back.
Do Qatar Airways Privilege Club credit cards have annual fees, and what perks offset them?
USD 99 for the Signature card and USD 499 for the Infinite card in the US. They are offset by instant Silver or Gold tier (oneworld Ruby or Sapphire), 4x or 5x Avios on Qatar Airways spend, 3x on Bilt rent and award booking fee waivers once you spend USD 15,000 in the first year (USD 25,000 in later years).
Do any Qatar Airways Privilege Club credit cards include a companion fare or free flight certificate?
No. Neither US card includes a companion fare or flight certificate; the headline perks are tier status, Qpoints from spend and award booking fee waivers.
Is there a business credit card for Qatar Airways Privilege Club?

Not a shopping portal as such. Instead, Card-Linked Offers let you register a Visa or Mastercard (and Qatari Himyan cards) to your Privilege Club account and earn extra Avios automatically at participating partner venues, with transactions appearing in around 14 days.

Which hotel chains earn Avios in Qatar Airways Privilege Club, and can hotel points be converted?
Marriott Bonvoy, Accor ALL, Hilton Honors, IHG, Hyatt, Shangri-La Circle, Rotana, Booking.com and Rocketmiles all earn Avios; Marriott pays up to 2 Avios per USD at its premium brands and 1 at select brands, and Accor up to 1 Avios per euro. Can I buy Avios from Qatar Airways Privilege Club, at what price, and is there a yearly cap?
Yes. Avios are sold in blocks of 1,000 up to 250,000 per calendar year, you must have earned at least 1 Avios since joining, purchases are non-refundable, post within 72 hours and stay valid for three years. Prices vary with the size of the purchase and are shown after login.
Does Qatar Airways Privilege Club run bonus promotions on buying Avios?
Not as a standing offer: as of September 2026 the buy page lists no bonus, and the price simply falls with the quantity bought. The built-in multiplier is Boost, which multiplies Avios earned in the past 90 days from flights, hotels, cars or co-brand cards by up to 6x (minimum 500 Avios, cap 250,000 a year).
Can I gift Avios to another Qatar Airways Privilege Club member?
Yes. You can gift Avios to another member in blocks of 1,000, up to 250,000 per calendar year sent or received, provided your balance is at least 1 Avios; gifted Avios are non-refundable and valid for three years.

No Airbnb or cruise partner. Stays earn through Booking.com, Rocketmiles, Qatar Airways Holidays and the hotel chains (Marriott, Accor, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, Shangri-La) instead.
Does in-flight Wi-Fi, duty free or onboard purchases earn Avios on Qatar Airways?
Qatar Duty Free purchases at Hamad International collect Avios and Qpoints, and you can pay with Avios there for up to 20% off. Wi-Fi is free for members on Starlink-equipped aircraft, so there is nothing to earn on it.

How do I qualify for elite status in Qatar Airways Privilege Club: by spending, segments, distance or points?
By Qpoints, earned per flight according to cabin and fare on Qatar Airways, oneworld carriers and participating partners. Qpoints are valid for 12 months from the date they are earned.
What are the qualification thresholds for each Qatar Airways Privilege Club tier?
Silver needs 150 Qpoints in 12 months, Gold 300 and Platinum 600. To retain you need 135, 270 or 540 in 12 months, or 270, 540 or 1,080 over 24 months, plus at least 20% of those Qpoints or four sectors in 12 months (eight in 24) flown on Qatar Airways. For a limited time between 1 June and 30 November 2026 the upgrade thresholds are cut to 135, 270 and 540 and retention to 110, 225 and 450.

When does the Qatar Airways Privilege Club qualification year start and end, and how long does status last?
There is no calendar year: qualification is a rolling 12-month window from your last elevation or renewal, and a tier is valid for 12 months from that date. Each Qpoint expires 365 days after it is earned.
Do partner airline flights count toward Qatar Airways Privilege Club status?
Yes, Qpoints accrue on oneworld and participating partner flights, but renewal requires at least 20% of your Qpoints or four sectors in 12 months (eight in 24) on Qatar Airways.
Does Qatar Airways Privilege Club offer a status match or status challenge?
Not as a standing offer. The terms say Qatar Airways may run specific, targeted campaigns to fast-track status or match tiers from other airlines, and tells members about them only if they have opted in to marketing communications.
If I fall short of requalifying, does Qatar Airways Privilege Club drop me one tier or all the way?
One tier. If you miss the renewal requirement you drop to the next lower tier, and only fall to Burgundy if the account has had no activity for 24 months.

Qatar Airways. The terms state that Avios, Qcredits and Qpoints have no cash value and that all rights of title to them stay with Qatar Airways; the member holds only a licence to use them, which is why they cannot be sold, exchanged or transferred outside the programme's own tools.
Do the Qatar Airways Privilege Club terms prohibit selling or bartering Avios?
Yes, in capitals: at no time may you buy, sell, transfer, redeem, broker or barter your Avios or awards for cash or other financial consideration.
